    Fabulous on Fuwa - February!

    By Kaguya

Introduction   Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.   *holds up giant APPLAUSE sign*   A-hem, so this is the f

Important notice for kagarisoft followers in germany

Steam is requesting an age rating for the title Roses Of Love and because of this the game will not be shown in germany, steam is requesting that a rating be added in order for the game to remain available in germany, however, I am sorry to notify this but KagariSoft will not add the rating as it is requesting a rating given by an entity/company which KagariSoft cannot request, as many of these ask you to pay for the game to be rated. For this reason Roses Of Love will not be visible in germany

VN of the Month September 2024

Nice solid month by current standards.   1. Boyhood's End  [WSS playground] Boyhood's End is an adventure game following Giovanni, the boy with the lowest human score in the universe, and Campenella, the delinquent genius, and their journey on the galactic railroad regarding the "human" and "inhuman". Pixelated partial release adventure, but localized

The Ward of Paradise Review

Welcome to this week VNTS review, and for the title because we finally have Hime no Rakuen available on Steam along with Fakku released Forbidden Wards, I decided to combine both into 'The Ward of Paradise' with 'Paradise' come from Hime no Rakuen with 'Rakuen' mean 'Paraside'. Anyway, this week is quite something if we see it from Mangagamer updates alone, in which it's been a while with the last one is in last May. Other than Mangagamer's updates, we also have the notable Sakura no Uta updates

Multiple Route Mystery – An Anatomy Of Visual Novels

This is a condensed version of the full article which can be found on my Main Blog Here.     Puzzle Pieces Scattered To The Wind   Putting together a mystery in order to find the truth is one of the most rewarding narrative and mechanical feelings it is possible to give the player. The route based structure of visual novels places them in a unique position to take advantage of this niche. They can spread their mystery over the course of their story in a non-linear manner

Soine Dreamer / そいねドリーマー opinions

I feel like I should be trying to post opinions of the things I actually read somewhere more permanent than Discord, even if it’s not super detailed, so here: Finished Urasekai Picnic writer Miyazawa Iori’s そいねドリーマー. I quite enjoyed the ride, even as I can pick out things that I might have liked different if I try… but I’m not sure if trying is the wise option. This is science fantasy and not science fiction, and viewed that way the things left unexplained are not so bad — it’s not like not

Sacrifical Saint and the Queen of the Maidens Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (22/09/2024) For the title, I decided to combined several words from the VN, with 'Sacrifical' from Nie no Machi (Translation Note: Nie mean sacrifice), 'Saint' from Sheol full title (Happy Saint Sheol), and 'Maiden' from Ever Maiden so we have 'Sacrifical Saint and the Queen of the Maidens' as the title, which is the parody of the anime Sacrifical Princess and the King of the Beasts with I changed 'King' into 'Queen'. Anyway, from what I can see this week is

Dorama of the Year 1960s-70s - Ogon no Hibi

Mydramalist has thousands of doramas, so I exclude all those I can't find or equal/under 30 minutes length or under 3 episodes long or belonging to Detective or Wuxia or Sports or Boys Love, or sequels (unless only sequel gets subs), maybe some more blacklisted categories to follow. As expected, found almost nothing from the 60s and not much from 70s. Among the subbed ones only consider Ogon no Hibi (1978) a masterpiece.   1. Nemuri Kyo

Angel's Gambit Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (15/09/2024) Since we have Ace Attorney Investigation 2 available in English with the name Prosecutor's Gambit along with Sheol is just released today, I decided to parodied the former by changing 'Prosecutor's' into 'Angel's' (Because we have Sheol's MC have angel in his dream), so we have 'Angel's Gambit' as the title. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for this week admittedly there's no much update, although one of the updates is in regard of Ka

SRPG – Uncovering The VN Hybrid

This is a condensed version of the full article which can be found on my Main Blog Here.   Mixing Words And Chess   If you want gameplay that mixes the grand feeling of strategy while still maintaining a strong character focus then the SRPG is generally the way to go. Hence why visual novel developers find this style mechanics appealing and select it to form a hybrid with in order to compliment the visual novel's narrative tone. Here the SRPG will be defined as a strategy gam

Date A Witch II Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (08/09/2024) Since we have another Date A Live VN released along with Sakura Celebration is almost ready to be released with the latter has magician (ie witch) heroines, I decided to reuse the VNTS title from five years ago, Date A Witch, with I add the roman number of 2 (II), so we have 'Date A Witch II' as the title (By the way I chose roman number because the anime sequel of Date A Live like to use roman number). As for this week, let's just get over the w

Anime of the Year 2022-III Summer - Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 2nd Season

Among sequels I value Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 2nd Season above Overlord IV or Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ougonkyou or Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka IV: Shin Shou - Meikyuu-hen . From fresh works only enjoyed Isekai Ojisan .    1. Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 2nd Season ようこそ実力至上主義の教室へ 2nd Season  [Lerche] (Finished 13/13)

Hyakusen no Jou ni Katawareshi Toki

Hyakusen no Jou ni Katawareshi Toki (from here on known as Hyakujou) is Eushully's latest game, based a generation or two before the events of Kamidori in the same region.  It is technically a prequel, and the setting of Kamidori - the city of Yuidora - plays a pretty important - though not central - role in the story.  For those who want to know what the 'canon' is, it is Route A of the Law Route.  The game is designed to be significantly easier if you play the Chaos Route first, supposedly.  H

Some thoughts on Dir'Lifyna (Eushully)

Eushully has been, for the past quarter century, one of the constants of the VN cosmos.  Why?  Because, with their first game Ikusa Megami, they struck gold in terms of setting design.  Eroge VN/RPG's have created some seriously odd results and synergies over the past quarter century.  The company that most embodies that is Eushully and the setting that embodies it is Dir'Lifyna, the world of the Ikusa Megami series and Kamidori Alchemy Meister.    There are lots of arguments as to why the

Moonchild Nocturne Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (01/09/2024) Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Lunaria Steam released along with Sleepless Nocturne announced, I decided to combine both words so we have 'Moonchild Nocturne' as the title with the 'Moonchild' word is from Lunaria full title (Lunaria -Virtualized Moonchild-). For this week, other than the already mentioned Lunaria Steam version release and Tsui no Sora release, we also have sprite released Everlasting Flowers which turned o

Digimon Survive Review – Friends of Tooth and Claw

This is a condensed version of the full review which can be found on my Main Blog Here.   Genre – SRPG, Adventure, Sci-Fi     Play Time – 23 hours    Developer - HYDE, Inc. and Witchcraft     Steam    VNDB   Of Harmony, Morality And Wrath   As a long standing franchise Digimon is no stranger to having games in all genres imaginable made for it and so the choice of a hybrid visual novel and SRPG should come as no surprise. For Digimon Survive the most important part

VN of the Month August 2024

Even without fandiscs there's a whole dozen of titles.   1. everlasting flowers  [240829] flowers.studio & sprite Sakashita Mina finds herself in a new town attending a famous all-girls high school. A misfit among a class of young, affluent ladies, she soon stops attending, realizing she'll never make any friends. In the year since, she has barely left her room.

50 VNs in 31 Days - Shortge Rush August - After action review

What started off as an offhand joke about how fast I read visual novels - after I read 22 between June and July - became a bit of a self-imposed challenge to see if I really tried how many I could get through in a month without sacrificing reading comprehension or time with my wife. To ensure I was having reading comprehension I made myself write at least a short review on VNDB for every VN completed. I also tracked exact times for each one played. I decided whatever VNDB decided was a separate

Sakura Philosophy Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (25/08/2024) Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title I'll tell it in the PS below. For this week, at the very least I can say it's more lively compared to the last week. For this week highlight, we have Mangagamer and JAST announce new title, although both of them didn't announce big title like Nekonyan. Other than new title announcements, we have Shiravune became slightly active with them finally announce the release time for Sacrifice Villain al
