Miu and the Blue Bird Review
Visual Novel Translation Status (05/05/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll tell it in PS later. As for this week, let's just say it's another very interesting one, thanks to both Aoi Tori and Mashiro Iro release. Other than those two, there are several other releases, although those are not as interesting as those two. Obviously we still have some updates, with the notable one is Amanatsu exact release date announcement. Oh yes, we also have PQube announce an otome VN, and unlike Aksys they also announce the Steam version of it. Anyway, let's see what I can write in regard of this week, and while I know Mangagamer just has updates I'll save the talk for the next time.
Speaking of otome VN, we have Tsuki no Onna released with the premise big breasted female MC who find herself befriended a serial killer and soon have a blossoming romance, although it also help the female MC herself has some big issue as well. Another thing to note is that the VN has sex scenes, so feel free to get Tsuki no Onna if you want to play otome VN with sex scenes. For the otome VN that PQube announced, it's Gensou Manege. For the premise, it's about the female MC Emma who attracted to the music from the traveling amusement park find herself working at the park, and from there eventually she'll find the key to unlock her lost magic and memories. No release date yet, but at least we know it'll be available on both Steam (ie PC) and Switch. Idea Factory reveal the exact release date for Cupid Parasite FD, and said date will be on 28th later.
Kagura Games was announced two VNs, Angel Tear and Forsaken Quartet, with both of those are more or less nukige. For Angel Tear, it's about the girl who can become the titular magical girl Angel Tear with her must endure a lot of rape in order to save the world, and the reason is because her enemies decided to corrupt all male to rape Angel Tear. So yeah, this is more or less magical girl nukige, which in a way resemble Dead Aegis except without being raped to get the power part. For Forsaken Quartet, it's about two male and two female who live in the floating island after the all of the other human extinct. At first their live goes well, although obviously sooner or later it'll go spiraling downward with one of the possible happening is NTR. For the release date, we only have one for Forsaken Quartet with the exact release date will be on 18th later. Speaking of nukige, Sekai also released one (Kurikuri Click) which turned out to be the first part of the trilogy.
Rattan Man released the partial patch for Taima Seiko Alice that has translated 35% of the game, so feel free to try if you're curious. Other than that, we have ChuSingura is at 43.61% translated with Chapter 2 is at around 84.16% translated, Shin Koihime Musou is at 71% edited, Akagoei 3 is at 66.21% edited, and Ushieta is at 60.1% translated with Nagisa's route is at 73.5% translated. Shiravune did release Taimanin Yukikaze, and no much to say it's redundant release along with it has new translation. For the premise, it's about Yukikaze who is tasked to infiltrate the stronghold of the bad guy, and of course being nukige normally Yukikaze was at first forced to act as the prostitute before finding herself lost in pleasure. We also have them announced Amanatsu exact release date, with said date is 17th later.
For the bigger Shiravune release, obviously it's Mashiro Iro along with Sana Edition. For Sana Edition itself, it's the fandisc like game with it has common route and the remake of Sana's route that initially available in PSP route (Palette also add sex scenes for Sana which is not available in PSP for obvious reason). For Mashiro Iro, it's about Shingo who has his school is about to be merged with the all girl school, only to find the rejection from the principal's daughter herself, Airi. Seeing the challenge, Shingo tried his best to understand and persuade Airi in order to let the merge through, and ultimately he manage to do so. Mashiro Iro has Tsubasu's art, so obviously it's quite good looking, and the anime art itself is also good looking courtesy of Kawamura Toshie who work on the anime art. Go get Mashiro Iro if you want some light charage and maybe Sana Edition if you like Sana (Which too bad that Palette sold them separately instead of just add Sana's route in the main game itself like PSP version), and have fun.
Last but not the least, we have Nekonyan released Aoi Tori. Granted there's several strings attached, such as Purple Software pressuring Nekonyan to release it in April at most (Which indirectly answer why they work with multiple publishers) and Steam rejected the build (Not banned), but in the end the release is still the release (I'll write about Steam release if the reviewer accept it). For the VN itself, we have Ritsu who is abandoned in the all girl academy inside remote mountain and worked as priest. He also has superpower, and his power is to give the blessing to the receiver with sex is the most potent way to get the blessing, so naturally he's nothing more than gigolo who have sex with more than one female. One day after he gave the blessing to the two students, he was called by the devil who inform there's some disturbance. From there, his life which is quite monotone has start to change. Go get Aoi Tori from either JAST, Mangagamer, Denpasoft, or Kagura Games if you've been waiting for it, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
PS - For the title, because we have Aoi Tori and Mashiro Iro release, I decide to make a parody of Hibike Euphonium movie, Liz and the Blue Bird (TL Note: Aoi Tori mean Blue Bird), with I changed 'Liz' into 'Miu'. To elaborate, Miu is the canon heroine for Mashiro Iro anime, and since we have Nozomi in Liz and the Blue Bird with anime Shingo resemble YPC5 Coco's human form (Because Kawamura is also work on YPC5 anime art), I chose Miu to make parallel of Coco chose Nozomi as his wife in Otona Precure ending.
