Anyways, nice to meet you all, my name is Andreas, I´m a big VN and anime fan from Norway. I just recently joined this forum and figured I´d go ahead and introduce myself. I am 20 years old and have been studying Japanese in my spare time the past 6 months. So far I´m still very bad at kanji, so I take ages getting through untranslated VNs, but I still feel comfortable enough with my skill that I CAN do it… Albeit slowly. 
I haven't read that many VNs yet, only about 12-15 I think, and a few of those were fandisks and sequels. I personally enjoy stuff with some form of romance in it, though it doesn't have to be the primary aspect of the story. Still, I won't say no to a nice slice of life VN/ anime either. 
My favorite VN so far is Grisaia no Kajitsu, with Kono oozora ni, tsubasa o hirogete coming in close second. 
Favorite character is Kotori from Kono oozora ni… She is just way too cute.

Agree to both of these. Some common routes are simply too long and filled with too much unnecessary stuff that doesn't help the plot at all. It feels like a lot of it is there just to make the game longer. 
And there is always that one char that is awesome, but doesn't get her own route. So annoying *sigh* 
(Akari in kono oozora ni, tsubasa o hirogete for instance) 

This thread is gold. I'm going to agree with Batman, this thread might be a favorite.
My short stops for a VN are exceedingly few. 
Yaoi. I'm a man, a biased man. I don't enjoy it.  As long as a man doesn't stick a phallic object into another man, we're all good.  Futa, free changing  hermaphroditic gender bending, gang bang.  They're all okay.
Utsuge/Nakige. These games really just grind me. Enjoying these in any respect in my opinion is akin to emotional masochism.

I so want to be called sempai... I need to talk my wife into it...

Lol, I guess this thread is also a nice place to expose people what weird vns and stuff in vns are out there. Japan is truly a wonderful place to come up with all sorts of fetishes and then when you get a hold of them..... wham... you are sucked in like a kid at a candy store.
