After reading a bit of the history of the people of this site, I have grown to appreciate and understand all the changes that has happened since the Great Pirate Era.

I wonder how things are now.

I wonder what happened to @Aaaeru after she left the site.

Isn't this thread kind of pointless? The ones with the really interesting answers are those who aren't around to reply.

Personally I'm doing great from a forum/VN perspective. Joined/(re)started the Musumaker translation project in 2011. It was a doomed project, which translated 15% in 4 years. Spreed has increased steadily, though this year by a lot. Last week set a new speed record at 1.1% for just one week. Looks like I will not end up looking like my avatar by the time the translation is done, even though it looked like that for years.

From a VN perspective; pretty bad, recently I have gone at a real snail's pace (partly to blame the giant novel I am currently reading) and it seems it will only get worse the more stuff that pops up later on.

Personally; pretty good.

If you ask me, studying abroad is overrated. I have seen some people spend a fortune on it without learning anything they couldn't have learned "at home". The issue is that you start by learning the basics, which you can more or less do anywhere. At the end of your university life (particularly if you aim higher than bachelor), your expertise has become so great that you can actually tell the difference between universities. At this point it would make sense to locate a university, which has specialized in something you can't learn "at home".

It will look good on your resume, especially if it's part of a language immersion thing, like studying French in Luxembourg. It depends on what you're studying like if it's business, then it will look sexy to have "international experience". For example, like if you worked as an finance intern at Japanese bank, while there you managed portfolio worth quite a bit of money. You are being immersed in the language and culture.

I know it's a shot in the dark, but I am legit curious if someone happens to know how @Aaaeru  is holding up these days.

Because her account is deleted, all that's left are the posts she was in and even those are buried too deep in these forums.

Thus leaving her with a sense of mystique. Maybe someone can came around and say something interesting. Who knows?

It is already a pretty niche program, so I will probably stick with the idea of perhaps studying abroad when an even more niche part of the program takes my fancy down the road, trying not to get ahead of myself  . Thanks though, it is interesting to hear what other people's thoughts are  .

Haven't been able to read any VN'S or be active on here because I'm in the final stretch of my College semester with exams right around the corner, but other then that I'm doing mostly fine apart from a few things.
