seoujuu Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 (edited) I want to learn visual novel programing and editing and how everything works and stuff. I dont wanna make a visual novel, I'm more interested to help with translation work in the future. I got like 2 years of free time and I'm at the state where I'm confused about what I wanna do in life, so might as well pick up and learn something. I dont know where to start, I'm curious about kirikiri engine(and unity and other japanese engines), since it is discussed a lot, so I just wanna learn. Anyone got suggestions on where a beginner like me can start? Edited February 2, 2020 by seoujuu Quote
Asonn Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Reverse engineering visual novels 101: Part 1 & 2 https://hackernoon.com/reverse-engineering-visual-novels-101-d0bc3bf7ab8https://hackernoon.com/reverse-engineering-visual-novels-101-part-2-9258f547262a For dummieshttps://forum.kazamatsuri.org/t/rldev-for-dummies/917 This is what I found with a quick google search. It seems interesting and gives you some insight into what and where to look for. I also recommend taking a look at all the tools available: https://github.com/search?q=visual+novel Just play with already hacked games and try to insert your own sprites and text.
