Stray Cat Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 My friend decided to be absolutely amazing and lend me her copy of Persona 3 FES (I've only played P3P) so that I could finally play through The Answer. Oh, and I bought To The Moon on PC last night, so there's that. Enjoy FES. Probably still my favorite game of all time. Quote
solidbatman Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 I know, just figured I'd give you some advice on that part since it's new and annoying. Also, why haven't you beaten Dangan Ronpa yet? Because I got bored of it. Quote
Flutterz Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Found a really interesting game yesterday called SpyParty. It's a 1v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game where one player (the spy) tries to blend in with the crowd of partygoers while completing missions such as placing a bug on someone or swapping a statue for a fake while the other player (the sniper) watches, tries to figure out who the spy is and is given one shot to kill the spy. A ton of fun if you like mind games. There are a few downsides though. It's still in beta so the graphics on most of the levels are pretty crappy, although the more recent ones look really nice, it costs $15 and there's no matchmaking so far, and because it's very much a skill-based game it can take a while to find someone to play against, unless you're playing with a friend of course. So if anyone has it or gets it, I'll gladly play with them. Quote
hydro Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Still playing Xillia 2. The first two and a half minutes of this, oh my God. I am no longer mad about the lack of dual-audio. This is too good. Quote
nohman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Destiny and Hearthstone. The grind is real (for both). Got a Silent Assassin rating on A Vintage Year in Blood Money. Is there even a point to escaping with the suit on? It seems to be pretty impractical, even if you lose money because of it. Logically, I guess it would be because you're leaving evidence behind otherwise. Once you get used to the stealth mechanics, it isn't that too tedious of a requirement. Quote
solidbatman Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Continuing Persona 4 Golden. Grinded until i got Rise up to level 61 for Relaxing Wave. Has made the dungeons a joke. Simply fight until out of SP, use a Goho-M, go to Yukiko's Castle, rush every battle until SP is restored, return to current dungeon. Fuck you Fox. Quote

I know you already know this, but the end game for Persona 4 is a joke. There's only a couple of "difficult" bosses anyway, but they're all at the start of the game. I suppose it is as hard as you choose to make it though. That's one of the areas Persona 3 does better than Persona 4... Nyx and Elizabeth are much more fulfilling than Izanami and Margeret. Quote

The thing I really liked about the end game of 3 is that you can still brute force your way through it fairly easily, even at a low level. In 4, thanks to the SP issues, its much more tedious to do. kratoscar2008 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Mass Effect 2 and then i will play Dragon Age Origins, will probably play The Evil Within when its released. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Finished Episode 4 of Dual Destinies...that was certainly a surprising conclusion. Oh I was expecting a cliffhanger, but that wasn't what I was expecting to happen. Now to wait for my 3DS to recharge before I can find out what happens next. Quote
phersu Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Borderlands. Mutated fun for the whole family! Quote

Yea, I was much more fond of the set floor teleporters than I was with the fox. Hopefully 5 will go back to something like that. I never minded getting tired either and found that aspect fairly entertaining. Quote
Mevvrynne Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Since the relic weapon is now the best thing EVER I am now starting to grind the nonsense out in ffxiv.... Stage 1 (atma) done in approximately 20 hours 47 minutes. Stage 2 (animus) first book out of 9 done. Stage 3 (novus) I already have the cash (roughly a minimum of 15 million gil on my server) to buy all the materia and I have all of the alexandrite from excess Allied Seals via elite mark hunting. I'm already despising myself. Quote
Stray Cat Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I finished One Piece Unlimited Red. It is not a great game but it is definitely entertaining and a lot better than the usual poor quality stuff they send our way with franchise games. I'd probably give it a 7.5. If you're a fan of the series I'd definitely consider getting it. Interestingly enough, there's a lot of extra stuff including story mode at a higher difficulty and a coliseum mode in which you have access to a pretty large cast of characters. I'll probably play around with that for a while longer. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I'm guessing I'm at the end point of chapter 5 of Dual Destinies as Blackquill is about to give his real testimony...unfortunately for me my 3DS ran out of power just when said testimony started Quote
Cyrillej1 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I just got Fairy Fencer F for the PS3, and enjoying it so far ^^, it's almost like an rpg + visual novel type gameplay. The dungeon parts are in third person, where you can slash monsters running around to execute battle. The story portion is just like a VIsual Novel, it even has backlog for conversation and can replay dialog (that's first time I've encountered a console RPG that has something like that). The characters are interesting so far and amusing , I'm having fun with it! Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Finally finished the trial portion of chapter 5 of Dual Destinies... So the killer was basically True Assassin Guess tomorrow it's on to the DLC episode Quote
SilverLi Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Rome 2, I give you one more chance (probably ten). For an eastern empire! Go Armenia! Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Finished the main storyline for Dual Destinies; overall I'd say it's good. Better than the second game (though I will admit the second one has a better final act) and Apollo Justice (both of which I liked) but not as good as the first and third game or the Edgeworth game (haven't played the sequel...yet). Now starting the DLC episode and all I have to wonder is this: if I lose the case does this happen? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jH-pH4ciFwI Stray Cat 1 Quote

solidbatman Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 I stayed strong. Nearly done with Persona 4 Golden. The new content is nice between 12/25-March. Awaiting Hollow Forest bullshit to unlock now. Hurry your ass up Margaret. Quote
Stray Cat Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I enjoyed the DLC chapter quite a bit. I think 5 was probably my second favorite game (second only to 3) since all the twists were enjoyable. I'd probably rank them as follows: 3>5>4>1>Investigations>2 I stayed strong. Nearly done with Persona 4 Golden. The new content is nice between 12/25-March. Awaiting Hollow Forest bullshit to unlock now. Hurry your ass up Margaret. Quote
nohman Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I finally played the Smash Demo that's been sitting on my 3DS for a few days. The controls seem like they might take me a bit to get used to, but I'm decently excited for the upcoming release. I also played Destiny for half a day yesterday instead of doing a number of things I need to do for school. I feel like I've made a mistake letting my friend talk me into buying it. Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I'm looking to pick up Persona now. Do I want to start from the beginning, or does it not matter? Want to get into P3 first if possible. Quote
Stray Cat Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I'm looking to pick up Persona now. Do I want to start from the beginning, or does it not matter? Want to get into P3 first if possible. There is basically no connection between the games. I would recommend starting with 3 and 4 and then going back to 1 and 2 if you really really like the series. Quote
