ragnar0574
I wanted to translate this vn, so to get things started I tried using Krkrextract, which works out for just about every kirkiri game, but this time, it didn't even identify the process as kirikiri. Then I used GarBro to decrypt and extract the contents of the scenario folder, and tried repacking it with the same encryption method, just to make sure it would work, but when I tried playing the vn, this error popped up: Then I used Translator++ to create an xp3 file, which resulted in this error: And now I'm completely lost as to how to pack the translated files after the translation is done Any help would be appreciated Edited July 15 by ragnar0574 Issue resolved
Entai2965
Crime Rhyme does not require any special handling for the script files. Extract the script files using Garbro-mod into a folder called scripts. Edit the shift-jis scripts.dsf and then run the game. Crime Rhyme also does not seem to be a kirikiri game. It does not have any .xp3 files at the root and the scripts are in not in a format I have seen before. Are you sure you are linking to the right VN? Or are you able to change text the same way I was able to?

Entai2965
There are quite a few releases listed on vndb.org I tested translating the original one with 2 CDs. Maybe they changed the game engine at some point? I will look into the newer DVD version. No ETA though.

Entai2965
Which version on that list do you think you are using? There are download, package, and repackage versions listed.

Entai2965
Seems to work fine. Steps taken: 1. Unpack scenario.xp3 to scenario/ using Garbro-mod - Use XP3 Encryption scheme set to "Crime Rhyme series" (FlyingShineCrypt) 2. Edit the text files in scenario/ 3. Repackage scenario/ to scenario.xp3 using Garbro with same settings (see picture) - Use XP3 Encryption scheme set to "Crime Rhyme series" (FlyingShineCrypt). Version 2 + retain directory structure tested working. Other configurations untested. 4. Run kuraimirai.exe with JPN locale emulator. Which of the above steps does not work? Disclaimers: - Older Japanese games might have an issue with Windows 10+ since they were designed for Windows XP or Windows 7. Have you tested Windows 7/8.1? I will test Windows 10 next. The above screenshots are from Windows 8.1U. - The above steps were tested using the 2013 Package Edition (DVDs) which has the same game engine version as the 2013 download edition. The download edition might have DRM associated with it from a reseller. I think the first error received in the OP is from the game not being able to locate the correct script file. When creating the .xp3 archive, did you select all of the files inside of scenario/ or did you select the scenario/ folder itself? If the .xp3 is created from the folder then it will be created as scenario.xp3/scenario/files.ks. Unless the game engine was told to look inside of the 'scenario' folder of scenario.xp3 to find files, it will ignore all of the files there. If all of the files are selected (ctrl+a) when creating the .xp3, then the archive will look like scenario.xp3/files.ks in which case the game engine will find them normally. Try selecting every file instead of the folder and see if that makes a difference. Alternatively, uncheck 'Retain directory structure' and that should tell Garbro to flatten the contents of the files when creating the .xp3 so the game engine does not have to worry about subfolders. Thank you so much, as it turns out, I did select the entire scenario folder, which then made the scenario.xp3 file's structure something like this: scenario.xp3 -> scenario -> .ks file but it should've been: scenario.xp3 -> .ks files Selecting every file inside did the trick Entai2965

Entai2965
Maybe just rename the thread to prepend [Complete] or [Resolved]?
