violity Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I have notice this whenever I change locales from English to Japanese, but I never bother to be concerned about this. And now, it kinda bugs me when I see this. When I changed my locale back to English, I always see this japanese characters on my desktop. Then I thought it was weird to have this when I already changed my locale back to English. Any fix guys? Quote
Flutterz Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'm pretty sure changing the locale doesn't change stuff in the Windows menu (although it might be be different in Windows , so my guess is that you changed some other language setting in addition to locale, and now need to change it back. Quote
violity Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 What do you mean? Sorry newbie here T-T "you changed some other language setting in addition to locale, and now need to change it back." Quote
violity Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 btw I followed these steps https://fuwanovel.net/faq/setting-windows-to-japanese-locale Quote
Flutterz Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Locale isn't the only setting you can change in Windows, right? So you need to find a different setting that is set to Japanese and change it to English. I'm afraid I can't be more specific, I don't have Windows 8. Quote
GetterEmperor Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Did you change your location back and not just the locale? Quote
MDruidd Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) how to do it ? klik here, just follow the instruction i can't help if windows 8, but hopefully it can help you The local change doesn't make an error of a program. I think it's normal. in windows 7, i can see japanese word if open DeepFreeze too. Edited July 12, 2014 by MDruidd Quote
violity Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 Did you change your location back and not just the locale? Yes I did. And it is still the same T-T Quote
Funyarinpa Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Just change the one under the "administrative" tab and avoid the other ones. Also I wonder what is with the "News" app, seeing Turkish text there is weird o.O Quote
Zakamutt Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 You might have to reboot your computer after doing the changes to see effects -- saying just in case here. OTOH you could just learn to read katakana and profit Quote
jeftai Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 just saying this now but the administrive tab is used to change locale. the location tab just retrieves information for stuff like news games and all that other crap you pointed out. so if you set it to japan it will retrieve that kinda stuff. Quote

Thank you!! Fixed it! XD My mistake was I set the location to my own country. The trick was after you set it back from Japanese locale, do not set it on your own country. Set it to United States instead. Restart pc and open each tiles with japanese text, it will just load back into its own. Thank you for all the suggestion mates! It's all back to normal now XD Quote

But the problem is, I am not the only one using the laptop , mom would be dang mad when she spots japanese characters (she'd think I did something to her laptop) and she don't like it when I am playing games on her laptop. Actually, we take rolls on when to use it. That's why I play secretly . Ahoho. So I kinda freaked out when its still has jp text on its tiles. XD Quote
