maki~chan Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Hey guys! I have been here for a few months now. I don't read Visual Novels but since this forum is mainly for VNs, I decided to try! I enjoy horror / romance mangas a lot! If you could suggest me some of your favourites, I will be appreciated! Lasly I have no interest in ero stuff ^-^'' Thanks to everyone who read this Here have a Maki picture! Quote
madvanced Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 As I said in the TS you can try Fate/Stay Night . Other than that you can also try Key's works Air, Kanon, Little Busters, Rewrite and Clannad. This is all non-ero stuff(for F/SN you need Realta Nua for the non-ero). When you "lift the ban" on ero, I will be happy to give other recommendations. Quote
Kaguya Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Well, if you want recommendations, check out my 50 VNs list~ Hm... Just so that I don't go without suggesting anything, why don't you give Phenomeno a try? No ero and it's a short and interesting horror story. I think you'll like it. Quote
Kosakyun Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Praise for the Maki picture. I love you now. Didn't know you haven't played any VNs. I assumed you did, after seeing you in the LLSIF thread (which I lurk with jealousy because I can't play it due to having no android). My best recommendation would probably be Clannad. It's non-ero after all. Little Busters too. I didn't know Air and Kanon had non-ero. They're also good to start with. Basically, VNs from Key are nice if you want non-ero. The When They Cry series is also nice. They're regarded as masterpieces, so try them out. Not all people like it though. I'd recommend Gadget Trial if you want a little gameplay. It's fun, but it's not a good place to start. Try it sometime later. That's all for now. Quote

maki~chan Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Yeah. I wallow in my own despair. I can't really play it. I haven't even watched the anime. I'm planning to. Soon. Quote
Kosakyun Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 You should! It is amazing! And when you get android or ios, add me as a friend Quote
Ceris Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 My first VNs where all non-ero, Little Busters, then Rewrite, then Symphonic Rain. I Love all three of then, though Rewrite is by far my favorite, it's extremely long. Quote

Eclipsed Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Oh maki~chan you don't read visual novels? I always assumed you did (kinda like how you assumed we were all female xD). Hmm.. since you've watched most of the anime adaptations of Key novels already I'd also say Rewrite should be a good place for you to start~ Quote

cloudy12 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I second Umineko (part of the When They Cry series) as well, it's long but worth it~ Planetarian is a good one. It's made by KEY, short so you can finish it in a few hours but feels! Katawa Shoujo is also another good one for those starting out but. There are H-scenes but you can turn them off. Quote

Blick Winkel Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I haven't played a lot of VNs, but i'd recommend Ever17. It was my first VN, i really like it! there's no eroge stuff, however, it has a great plot and storyline. Give it a try Quote
maki~chan Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 I'd say Saya no Uta for you. Hopefully you'll get into VNs, Maki-chan. Quote

havoc Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 just about anything from my handy newcomes list, except mabey muv luv alternative because that one requires one to sit through two rather mediocre vn's inorder to get the full experience. Fate/stay night is a must play. It is nothing like the anime thing that carries its name. (well we do now in the unlimited blade works adaption) And we just have a new patch that has translated the realta nua version of the game. (wich is an all ages game so it does away with the H stuff and replaces it by something else) http://vndb.org/v11 Tsukihime Another must play, and no this one does not have a anime adaption. http://vndb.org/v7 (it is ancient, got no voice and no music. But it is so good) Muv Luv series, now Muv Luv extra is not that good and Unlimited is merely good but alternative is definitly a must read and to understand it completely you need to have read these two first. (I so hope muv luv alternative get's an anime adaption at some point) http://vndb.org/v93 (extra/unlimited) yes they are packed into one game http://vndb.org/v92 (alternative) g senjou maou Is also a must read. http://vndb.org/v211 clannad is also a must read and is together with fate/stay night one of the vn flagships, muv luv can possible also be considered a flagship. http://vndb.org/v4 Other than that there is Grisaia no Kajitsu wich is also a must read. (By the way, no panty shots in this one, just sex jokes by amane instead) http://vndb.org/v5154. As for a few good anime: (just me being random) Aria the animation: http://myanimelist.n...a_the_Animation Crest of the stars: http://myanimelist.net/anime/290. Quote
Bolverk Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Steins;gate, little busters! and Symphonic Rain I'd recommend to you then I enjoyed all of them greatly and they have no ero~~ Quote
