reyaes Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Supposedly good, yeah. My friends seem to love it. Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Rurouni Kenshin, both the first one and Kyoto Inferno. I don't remember any boat scene, but it was good. Oro, oro. Quote
Chewy Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Watching a movie about blazing it.... The Millers Quote
nohman Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I saw Inherent Vice a couple of days ago. It fell flat, which I kind of attribute to myself instead of the quality of the movie. I think I'll have to see it a few more times before I can be sure though, since I won't have to spend so much energy trying to connect the events of the film and can just sit back and enjoy the details. solidbatman Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Went to go see Imitation game the other night. Was alright, though the pacing was pretty horrid. Going to see Blackhat tonight. Not expecting much. Quote
Zenophilious Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Just watched Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. My God, that movie is just so ridiculous.  Also changed the thread to a movie/TV show hybrid, since it's kinda silly to exclude TV shows and make another thread for just them. Feel free to talk about TV shows in here from now on. EldritchCherub Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Who else here watches Supernatural? Just got done watching the latest episode. The witch, Rowena, is quite the sly woman. Something tells me she wants to rule Hell all by herself and kill off Crowley. I'm kinda hoping for another Dean vs. Cain showdown near the end of the season instead of the whole 'fight the power of the mark by yourself' scenario that just surfaced. As usual, a filler next week after a decent episode just came out *le sigh* Quote

Eclipsed Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 That's the main gripe I have with Supernatural. Filler episodes. I'd like to see a season that sticks to its main plot rather than be littered with "monster of the week" fillers Quote
nohman Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Personally, I enjoy the monster of the week format for Supernatural. Particularly in the earlier seasons when you'd get to see a new kind of monster you'd never heard of. Quote
Eclipsed Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Agreed. The early seasons were fun with that format. But we're in Season 10 now >< My issue with the 'main plot' is that it's never really.. uh developed/explored in the best way it that could have been due to fillers. Season 7 in particular with the Leviathans was a big let down. Quote
SilverLi Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Watched American Sniper yesterday. Enjoyable for what it is. Quote

SilverLi Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I agree it was slow paced at time. But I am fascinated of snipers so it wasn't that big of a problem. Quote

Stray Cat Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I kinda dropped Arrow last fall, it lost my interest.  Right now Grimm and Agent Carter are holding my attention.  Waiting for Walking Dead to restart too.  I watched Galavant too.  Parts of it were good and parts were meh. Quote

nohman Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Thinking of having a Ghibli weekend with a buddy. Any suggestions on a good line up? Definitely going to go with Princess Kaguya since that's the one Ghibli film I haven't seen. Probably looking to get in 4-6 films. Quote
solidbatman Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 World War Z was pretty damn fun. Also been watching Lord of the Rings with my girlfriend. She loved the Hobbit movies. Keyword is 'loved'. She now realizes the superiority of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. All is well SilverLi 1 Quote
