Deep Blue Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Grave of the fireflies. yeah that movie with a lot of tissue paper. princess mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle, both of them are really good too. (Guess you've already seen Spirited Away, if not go watch it now!) Quote
Stray Cat Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 what a freaking sad movie :/ Try reading the book, multiple times, and watching the movie, multiple times. Quote
Deep Blue Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Try reading the book, multiple times, and watching the movie, multiple times. Didn't know there was a book, gonna read it now for sure Quote
nohman Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Saw Whiplash tonight with a buddy. That movie was freaking intense. JK Simmons was incredible. Quote
reyaes Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Watched American Sniper last night. First 20 minutes had me thinking it was just some hokey american hollywood war movie, but it got real. Damn real. I appreciate it because it's focus wasn't about being a popcorn movie, but about the damage war causes to people and society. The theater was chillingly quiet after it was over too. Quote
Zenophilious Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Actually got around to watching The Interview on Netflix...I wasted my time. It was a typical gross-out swearfest that is typically aimed at 15-20-year-olds, with the draw being North Korea, which has been getting a lot of attention recently. Honestly, the only reason I saw it was because Little Fatty Un's government threw a fit trying to get it pulled. Wasn't really expecting much, but it still managed to be underwhelming. Bet they earned a decent amount of money, even with no major theaters airing it, what with the whole "I should see this movie if I support free speech" sentiment floating around. Quote
Snowtsuku Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 The only show I do watch from TV is Shark Tank. Some of the products are pretty remarkable, like the eye block. Quote
Monmon Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Finished Hercules and Hector and the Search for Happiness It was awesome and enjoyable, and i found Hector really good but somehow people said its kinda bad. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Today's episode of Gotham was actually good, pleasant surprise. Today's villain of the week in Sleepy Hollow is essentially a blood mage from the Dragon Age games, while I'm playing DA2, interesting... Quote
ExtraMana Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Spiral season 5. Best French crime drama in a long time, possibly ever. Quote
SilverLi Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hype intensifies. It's time for the obligatory Game of Thrones marathon before the new season. Stray Cat 1 Quote
nohman Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Saw Kingsmen tonight. Very fun nod at spy movies. Quote
EldritchCherub Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Finished watching Supernatural Season 10 Ep.13. Another filler which was a cross between the horror movies Pulse and I Know What You Did Last Summer. -_-. Just your typical monster of the week episode with some Mark of Cain subplot thrown in at the last minute. Next week should be good. Finally get to see Cain vs. Dean. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Watched a Rifftrax for Manos the Hands of Fate; the MST3K alumni have still got it. Quote
Stray Cat Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Grown Ups 2, wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Quote
Monmon Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Finished my Statham marathon(Transporters, blitz, snatch, Lock n stock, and Safe) I love this guy... BookwormOtaku 1 Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Today's episode of Gotham was decent, at least they didn't butcher The Joker like I was worried it would. Today's episode of Sleepy Hollow...dear lord, that was the worst implemented alignment change I've seen in a long time. I get they didn't know what to do with the character and maybe with more time and better writing it could have worked, but this is so sudden and ultimately feels like a middle finger to continuity. DimDito Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Whiplash. Again. And I can't remember how many times I've replayed those last 15 minutes. Also recently watched the past week; Argo, Fight Club, Rush, and Zodiac. All of which are astounding movies. Quote
Stray Cat Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Did anyone else find the last few episodes of the Walking Dead to be a bit too artsy. Quote
Satsuki Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Finally done with all seasons of Top Chef (and related), Masterchef US and Hell's Kitchen. Guess I will move on to something else...hmm...Ghost Adventure maybe... Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Watched Agent Carter and Person of Interest, both were awesome as always Quote

EldritchCherub Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Finished watching The Walking Dead Season 5, Ep.10. Quite the riveting episodes as we see the characters' morale plummet to dangerous levels. Many of them are barely putting one foot in front of the other, hungry and tired as they make their way to Washington. It'll be interesting to see whether they make it to the next safe haven that many people are talking about. Don't know what to make of Aaron at the moment, since they've been tricked before and led down dangerous paths after taking a stranger's help. Quote
