From the creators of Aselia the Eternal and Yumina the Ethereal comes Seinarukana, the sequel to Aselia. Set in the same world but with an all-new cast, Seinarukana is a highly rated and respected H-RPG/VN hybrid. The gameplay resembles Ogre Battle a little where you order multiple parties around to fight for control over a larger map, capturing towns and harvesting resources. From what I know, playing Aselia first is optional. Description gracelessly stolen from VNDB (thanks sanahtlig!): This game's translation has been in the works for a very long time, and after years of delays and poorly scheduled development, it's finally releasing. When? This month! Maybe early next! But it's really soon! Seriously, its release is actually imminent. Not that you'd know this unless you were REALLY closely paying attention. But at AX JAST announced that it would be released this September. And, well, it's September! When Shiny Days was delayed, someone asked JAST if Seinarukana was still on track for September, and they basically reaffirmed it. Their project status page says that all they have left to do is produce some of the Limited Edition goodies and they'll be ready to ship. I'm still not fully confident that it will be out this month just because it's JAST and you never know with them, but it's seriously not going to take much longer. So where are the preorders? The PR push? Any marketing at all, even simple tweets? You've got me. Shiny Days and Starless were preceded by months of promotional tweeting, which isn't that big of a deal but at least it's something. JAST is taking the bold strategy of "release the game and tell no one about it until it happens." Ask Sega how well that worked with the Saturn. I wonder how salty the translator Aroduc will get over this, considering his reaction to Romanesque's release. My guess is that they don't want to get hopes up with pre-release hype and then get hit by even more backlash if something unexpected happens and they're forced to delay. But that doesn't really explain the complete radio silence. They really ought to be telling people about this game. Because it's good! And people deserve to know about it, and it deserves to sell well! Aroduc is a solid translator and his work should be rewarded! So I guess I'm here to do the job JAST won't. And yes, yes, you can unleash all of your jokes about how this game is never getting released, JAST time, etc. But also feel free to actually talk about the game. These dark times are finally coming to an end.8 points -

But it totally does. It is just a visual novel with a weird structure. It is a visual novel nobody has ever made a walkthrough for, and anyone who claims they have is scamming you. Every route is unknown to you as the protagonist, and choices can seem arbitrary in every single way but have the most profound of effects. Every possible route has a variable length, and may very well span the rest of your experience with this "reality visual novel". Of course, those same routes can be exited both on purpose and by accident. When a route is finished, it doesn't mean the credits will roll either. You can still access other routes. Routes can occur during any given arc of your life, and routes don't even need to be romantic in nature. Confession: I should stop now before I suddenly go too far down this rabbit hole. XD2 points

https://twitter.com/DragonsDogma/status/641266456131317760 Well met, Arisens! Here, have some awesome news: As of January 2016, the epic fantasy action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be available on Windows PC for $29.99 / € 29.99 / £ 23.99, with full Steam platform support. Huzzah! In case you missed it on console, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is an awesome, inspired, sprawling fantasy game set in an open world, where players create their own unique character and supporting, AI-controlled characters known as Pawns, which can be “rented” and shared online by other players. Battle giant mythical beasts, master a variety of distinct vocations, and explore atmospheric dungeons to uncover endless items and loot. The PC version will feature stunningly high-res graphics and improved fidelity, as well as support for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers, as well as a traditional keyboard and mouse control scheme. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Just in case anyone here has missed out on Dragon's Dogma: It's fucking great. Dragon's Dogma is a weird hybrid between Skyrim, Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, with a touch of Shadow of the Colossus. It was without a doubt my Game of the Year 2012 and the Addon Dark Arisen fixed a ton of issues I had in terms of balance and content. The NPC animations and dialogues weren't best though and I really hope capcom gives us the eternal ferrystone. Otherwise, you'll have to pay ingame currency to fast travel.1 point

Commissioner Mephisto lifted the sheet, glanced at the cooling corpse underneath, and then grimaced. It was just as the officer on the scene had said, and it meant a lot of paperwork and a lot of overtime for his detectives... A mysterious cloaked stranger quietly treads the soaked streets as the sound of water drizzles overhead. Rain blankets the neon-lit city with colors of cerulean and ash. The sound of footsteps, barely audible in the distance, slowly slosh through the thick puddles littering the ground. In mere moments, the footsteps speak. "Do you understand your instructions?" asked the patron. As per usual, names had not been exchanged. "Of course," responded the informant. "This should not prove terribly difficult. "Nothing must lead back to me." "How could it?" the informant contended. "Even if I were caught - and I won't be - I don't know who you are." "What name will you use?" "Today I shall be...Blue Cross." Welcome to New Fuwa! The world has changed, but crime has not. Welcome to a complete revamp of the murder mystery game here on the forums of Fuwanovel! In this new and exciting take, you get to play as a team of expert thieves out to steal important data around the city of New Fuwa. Can you sneak your way to success, or will the city bury you deep with the rest of the lowly scum? Your leader, known only as the infamous Blue Cross, is a highly trained and expert larcenist who will stop at nothing to obtain what she desires. Being skilled in the art of thievery, she requires a team of 4 expert larcenists whose skills go above and beyond that of a petty thief. Are you up to the challenge? I'd probably be in my "nicer" promotional mode if pre-orders had started and this was my topic. But they haven't and it's Decay's topic, so I don't feel any need to wear that mask today. Besides, I've offered a bit of content with each jab to soften the blow. Y-you should be grateful!1 point -

What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?
Kenshin_sama reacted to kyrt for a topic
Chronologically it goes Metal Gear Solid 3, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, Phantom Pain, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4. Release order: Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 (both 1 and 2 are somewhat difficult for people to play so you can skip these if need be), Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, and finally Phantom Pain. Phantom Pain is apparently the game that bridges the gap. Technically you can easily start at MGS3 and just play Peace Walker, GZ, and then Phantom Pain. It depends on how you would want to try the series. Hope that helps. For those that care I'm playing XCOM, Witcher 3, and Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, and very rarely Fallout 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition at the moment...all games which will last a long while. (hopefully until Fallout 4 releases).1 point -

There are 2 possible scenarios. They start the marketing after Shiny Days release or its getting delayed a few months. And yes there could be a third option aka jast is dumb and dont marketing the game at all but i rule that scenario out for now.1 point

The difference is in who starts the conversation. I'm mostly fine when someone else does, but even starting a PM myself is damn near impossible unless I have a reason like moderator stuff or something. The reasoning being if the person actually wanted to talk to me, they would have done so. What is it with people around here and writing odd stories about me?1 point

Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion
Arkamondal reacted to Mr Poltroon for a topic
And the logical conclusion from all this is that you should do the same? Reply in the same currency, why not? Has that ever gone wrong? Indeed. Lots of people like it. Clearly terrible material right there. I admit, certain fanbases, especially those which grow too large, can be obnoxious. However, I don't see that as a reason to preemptively decide the material which they are a fan of must not be good. That may not be what you did, of course, but it comes across as such regardless. Personally, I believe Majikoi is truly a great game, mostly because I'm a huge fan of comedy, and I couldn't possibly speak as highly of Majikoi S, since it had improvements in some areas and then just dedicated all its writing to H-Scenes, which I don't like much. It makes me feel sad and even mad when people say it's not a good game or that its overhyped when I came to love it before I noticed the fanbase at all.1 point -
Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion
Arkamondal reacted to twdarkeh for a topic
I'm not sure I understand your point. I tend to agree with you, maji koi is far from a masterpiece, and I've often wondered why people consider it so. That said, it's certainly not a bad VN, and there's no reason to go around insulting those who like it. Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen anyone who gets attacked for pointing out the flaws. Hell, the entire translation team got annoyed at most of S(stupid poorly written H-scenes everywhere), and most of us dislike some/many of the characters. But overall, we like the VN, other people like the VN, so we wanted to make it so people could read it. If it's not your cup of tea, that's one thing, but I don't see a reason to go around insulting those who do enjoy it.1 point -
