  1. Hi Guys, It's been a little over 24 hours since the end of the Kickstarter and I can honestly say that, part of me feels like I'm still on the "battlefield" when I should be celebrating with everyone. When I woke up this morning, just like every day, I went through my routine thoughts, racing as they do, about what needed to do be done with the remaining time. Then it hit me, Kickstarter was over! o.O The past 120 days -- every day -- have been filled with intense planning, ups/downs, execution of ideas, surprises (see James's KS celebration comment), and fun. For me personally, switching gears has been a little slower than expected, but I've got my foot on the clutch and easing in. The intensity won't change, just the lane. There's many steps left to take before Libra comes to a full completion and we're committed to seeing it through to the end. With that, I'd like to sincerely thank you for all the advice and feedback you've given. Fuwanovel has a great crowd. It's been a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I look forward to keeping you posted on our Libra progress, and also share what's on deck for future projects. You might even see me pop in a few off-topic threads, too. ;-) Until next time, Jonathan (MiKandi Japan PR/Marketing)

  2. Wow, I'm touched. Hopefully people enjoy the game, it's one of Alicesoft's most popular titles. And I'd be happy to answer questions if anyone has any.

  3. Tiers really come down to what we have available to work with. What I am seeing a lot of folks greatly overlook is that not ever developer is going to agree to or want to appear on camera, etc. Some are a little more loose while others do not wish to be right in the middle of a spotlighted stage. Not just saying that in terms of RD, but for any project. No two are going to be the same. In this instance where people are comparing the RD campaign to Libra, Muv-Luv, etc. it's sorta' the opposite of the old saying: what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Thanks for all of the questions though, everyone. I have to get back to email pitching, but I'll likely check back in tomorrow. Have a splendid evening. EDIT: I don't know if everyone has caught that we are offering new items for some of the preexisting tiers (just can't go back and edit the text desc. once someone is backing that tier).

  4. If yall need help to get another project started, feel free to ask for help. For that matter, if you all find you need more help on Libra, all you have to do is call. That's what a community like this is for, after all.

  5. So I finally reached the 1000th post club. God what a spammer! I've only been an official member for 6 or so months but I have been lurking as a guest forumer for about 2 years now. What forced me to make an account? Well, I had a terrible stalking experience with an old forum back in the day and vowed not to visit social sites anymore, but finding a job in the social media marketing field last year kinda pulled me back in again to be a huge socialite on the internet. So, I decided to pull away from the fear and embrace being a crazy internet spammer socialite once again. And Fuwanovel forums made me feel right at home. Every member has been nice to me, like a typical VN protagonist being sincere to his virgin lover's first time experience. No negative experience that I can think of so far. It's awesome when I have a work-at-home job because I can fool around and play VNs more than someone who has to drag their ass to the office and listen to their boss nag at them all day. All of a sudden, I found myself making fuwanovel one of my official homepage tabs because it's an awesome resource for a recreational activity that I spend almost the same time as I do with work and replying/posting at least 10 times a day. Anyways, I will make the obligatory thank you, appreciate, kudos, "whatever the fuck you call it" thread for the people who helped me get here and made my fuwanovel experience much more lively. If I forgot to mention you, please don't hurt me. I love you with all my heart! @Tay: For putting up this site together and also not nuking our precious hangout spot to oblivion for too long during maintenance. @Zenophilious: Very helpful mod plus we have one thing in common. I reread Fate Stay Night/Hollow Ataraxia more times than I could count with my fingers. @Nosebleed: Thank you for Lilium x Triangle. For some reason I end up playing the entire thing again after you guys did the English patch. Also for keeping us people who gave up on Nisekoi long time ago updated with the whole “ordeal”. @Kaguya: Shikkoku no Sharnoth was a great read. Thanks for posting an info thread about it. @KosakiFag: Thanks for keeping us updated with Alicesoft translations and games. @Palas: My official "favorite member" of Fuwanovel. That's all that needs to be said. @Deep Blue: If I had to name another favorite member in this forum. It would be you, no doubt about it. @Funyarinpa: Sora is the best girl. This is the only time I will say it. Hope you are happy now! @Fred the Barber: I see you like a senpai in these forums. Please, take care of me senpai! @TexasDice: Stay classy cowboy! @Jade: Almost always present whenever I visit Fuwa chat. Not sure if you’re stalking me…or is it the other way around? @Ceris and @The Striker: Hard to find our kind here as Hyperdimension Neptunia fans. Glad there are you guys! @Nashetania: For owning me so hard as a Princess Evangile fan. Kudos to you. @DarkZedge: When you see someone with a Comyu sig, you know the guy is already fucking awesome. @VirginSmasher: Everywhere I go, you're there. We have an inseparable bond in these forums as if you're my little brother. You are free to call me Onee-sama. @XReaper: For recommending me a couple NTR games that I end up putting #1 on my list especially those done by Elf. @Jun Inoue: I didn’t know one of my favorite side characters in Majikoi would actually exist in Fuwanovel. Also an avid follower like me in the Majikoi A series progress. @OriginalRen: Every time you post something hilarious in the forum, it puts me in a really good mood. Thank you for bringing rainbows and sunshine during my stressful days. @Kiriririri: Your moege passion is contagious... it's like the common cold. Now I need some insulin for too much vanilla goodness intake. @Flutterz: I found myself clicking through your entire Moe Repository blogs because I was mesmerized by them. @Eclipsed: One of my top 3 favorite board mods. No, I will not disclose the rankings. Sorry. @Clephas: For constantly recommending untranslated visual novels and giving me a push to learn Japanese. @sanahtlig: I always found you on many forums I visited and your reviews have been helpful. @Canicheslayer: You liked my posts more than anybody in this forum. I think more than a 1/3 of my likes came from you? I guess we agree on many things and for that I thank you. @Kawasumi: You like my posts almost as much as Canicheslayer. Both of you combine make up almost half my likes. I don’t know what’s to like about me? I’m just a spammer. Also PM me if you need some more NTR doujin recommendations. @mitchhamilton: Is this your name in real life? Btw you’re awesome! @Stormwolf: I agree with many things you say in this forum. You are very critical with your preferences and sometimes it’s hard for people to express that, yet you do it with ease. @Decay and @Rooke: I like it when there’s at least one person who disagrees with me and present valid arguments and making me see the other side of it. Sometimes, it’s hard to find people like you guys because all they do is just troll and spout nonsense but on the other hand, you both are very calm and respectful. @Valmore: Your posts are top quality. Keep me entertained, now and forever. @Satsuki and @MiKandi Japan: For delivering the news and keeping us updated with Kyuuketsu Hime no Libra. Really, I am excited with this whole thing! Now if only that Iris route would be implemented... @Rose: Seeing your Wanderer sig makes me want to play Ragnarok Online again. I played a Wanderer during War of the Emperium a lot. @Chronopolis: First person to ever message me about having an interest with NTR. Hopefully I converted you to the dark side. @EcchiOujisama Your Eiyuu Senki tips were helpful and it’s nice that I have someone to talk to about the game I really enjoyed. @Kurisu-Chan: You will always be my #1 waifu no matter what you say, Darling! @Ryechu, @Down, and @solidbatman: Thank you for all the amazing FuwaReviews! @Tyrael: I will read all your reviews from now on word for word. Please don't be mad at me again. @Dergonu: All of a sudden, I end up liking you a lot. All this heartfelt feelings… what should I do with them? Ahh! What are you making me say! You idiot! Pervert! Stop! Do I need to confess in front of all of Fuwanovel that I have a crush on you? It's embarrassing! /tsundere And for the rest of you Fuwanovelians: Thank you for keeping this whole place fun and friendly place to be in!

    Hello New Friends! :3

Hi everyone! I registered here a couple days ago to hop in and provide some support and feedback on the Root Double thread. I suppose it's best to come right out and offer full transparency to everyone: I work with Sekai Project as their PR manager for the western half of the globe (primarily North & South America with a little dash of some EUR media outlets sprinkled in the mix). I'm certainly not looking for any special treatment. Not at all. I feel that it's better that everyone knows my role so they can ask questions or just take some comfort in knowing that I'm here to assist when and however I can...within reason of course. Don't be expecting me to reveal release dates. I've been a long-time anime fan -- all the way back to my very first anime, Iczer-One. This was back in the late 80s, before I even knew what anime was. In fact, I just posted about it earlier today on Twitter. And for those of you who have yet to watch the anime series, let's just say that it was certainly one heck of a way to be introduced to the medium. In addition to anime I've been an avid gamer since the late Atari 2600/early NES days, and wound up getting into the game industry with a job testing games for Sony back in '03. Shortly after that I fell into PR and that's pretty much what I've been doing ever since (with a short stint in production). Anyhow, I'm rambling. I just wanted to officially say hello, and that I look forward to speaking with all of you about anime, games, or whatever you'd like to discuss. I'm always up to shoot the breeze, so please feel free to reach out to me either here or via social media. Cheers, David

  13. There is a lot to like and a lot to dislike. Extra, Unlimited and Alternative all have their strengths and weaknesses. It is very much a series of extremes, the good is very good and the bad is very bad. I talked about this in some detail with another forum user so I'll copy/paste what I said for your convenience. If you have any other questions let me know. How much you read before Alternative is largely up to you and your preferences. To start with, the first two games of the series, Extra and Unlimited, are packaged together. In order to get access to Unlimited you must clear the Meiya and Sumika routes in Extra. There are three other routes in Extra, and honestly, even though I like Iinchou and Ayamine a lot as characters, the story they decide to tell is largely something I didn't want to see. From a storyline standpoint I actually liked Tama's route, even though the thought of doing an H scene with her makes me throw up a bit in my mouth. I would still suggest you play every route in Extra. Why? The characters introduced in these routes will show up in Alternative, and their appearance and roles will make far more sense. I also loved the "bad" end with Marimo, which I thought was awesome and wouldn't call a bad end at all. It answers a nagging question I had throughout the VN as well. While we're talking about the world of Muv Luv Extra, this happens in the same world as Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. There are several tie ins with KimiNozo. As it is only in the beginning of being translated, and is one of the longest VNs of all time, it's probably not an option if your kanji isn't at JLPT level 1. I would say watching the TV series is absolutely necessary. You should actually watch it before playing Extra as one of the characters from Kiminozo has a good amount of screen time. Watch Second Season is you want, and watch Akane Maniax after you play Extra for a chance to see some Muv Luv characters in anime. AyuMayu Theater will make far more sense after you play Alternative, so wait on that one. Unlimited is a different story. All of the routes are the same and the choices you make have almost no impact on the story. Instead of event A happening with character A, you could manipulate it into being character B with enough of the right choices, but the differences are minor. There is no reason to play the game more than once unless you want to see the H scene of another character. The endings are all EXACTLY the fucking same, to the point that it doesn't feel true to the characters. It's done to plant seeds for Alternative and it makes sense now in retrospect, but it drags on a LOT when playing for 100% and felt like a big fuck you from the writer to the fanbase IMO. I'd suggest making choices that seem like they will maximize time with your favorite character and to play Alternative before going through the game again. Clearing it to 100% after the first character was brutal. Alternative is extremely linear. The choices you make have only a minor impact on the story, and after going back through it to see what would happen with all of the opposite choices, there's basically no difference. The game gives you a big middle finger by having zero benefits after clearing the game. No soundtracks. No CG gallery. Nothing. It's like "Oh, you just forked over 60 hours of your life and thought that would let you listen to the game's music? Well fuck you." There are only 2 H scenes in the whole game, and they're both with a character I wouldn't even want to bang in real life. Now that I've said all of the bad parts about it, on the whole it's really great. Just about everything I didn't like in Extra and Unlimited tied into the story and paid off in a way that made sense. The effects that they pull off are visually stunning. While the others would have points where the story was interesting and would then drag, this went more than 10 hours before it even came close to slowing down once. The more you pay attention to little details in the prior games the more you are rewarded in Alternative. Alternative doesn't expect you to remember every hint about the way things might go and reminds you of lines here and there when foreshadowing is paid off. As you go farther into Alternative you'll be glad you at least watched KimiNozo as a lot of characters from Kimizono appear, and are true to the characters you've come to know. There aren't a lot of areas that are light-hearted in this one, but it will grab you by the balls and not let go for hours at a time. The ending is certainly divisive, you'll probably love or hate it, but the ending of the ending gave me huge blue balls for Altered Fable. I can't wait to play it.

  14. I hope the discussions aren't just for lower-level tiers though... cuz I don't think they'll help much at this point, especially given the lack of advertisement/marketing. What's more important imo, if we're unable to get much more major press, is to further improve the tiers between $150 and $275 and perhaps create a few (reasonable) higher tiers between $275 and $1000 to give people more incentive to raise their pledges. Because right now, there aren't many backers above the $99 tier, and a great portion of Kickstarter funding comes from the higher tiers. High-tier backers may be able and willing to pledge above $275 but not $1000, so something in between might help. I think the $30-$99 tiers are fine because towards the end, if push comes to shove, I imagine many of the $30/$45 backers will move up to $60/$75 (the physical copy and the desire to see RD funded may be good enough incentives to push people), and the $60/$75 backers may move up to $75/$99. But of course, I don't have much experience with Kickstarter or this kind of financial management in general so I could just be talking a lot of ignorant crap... if so, my apologies.

    Sickness

Summary/Plot Sickness is a Visual Novel following the life of Koro, a high school student turned violent criminal. Following the deaths of his parents, Koro is left without a home or source of income. All he has is his twin sister, Sara, who he promises to provide for, even if doing so means throwing his life away. Using the entirety of their savings, the two move to another city, wherein Koro quickly finds work. Sara commutes to her old school, Koro works long, physically-demanding hours, and the two survive off instant food, barely scraping by. It isn't a happy life, but they make it work. Or at least they did, until a violent outburst set into motion a rapid descent. Amid a physical altercation with his boss, Koro blacks out, waking up to find a corpse laying at his feet. His knuckles bloody, his muscles aching, he realizes that he has just murdered his boss, the person responsible for his continued well-being. But rather than lament the loss of life, all Koro can think of is how badly he needed the money, and what he'll do next to get it. Drawn by the scent of blood, one of Koro's coworkers, a young man with criminal connections, offers him a not so legal revenue stream, one encouraging violent behavior and rewarding the capable. And from there, everything spirals out of control. As it turns out, Koro has a knack for crime, and the petty reservations he had about such acts don't last long. For the well-being of his sister, as well as his own self-interest, he becomes a killer for hire, taking out people anybody his new boss tells him to. He quickly adapts to life as a killer, adopting a double life his sister can never know about. But his new life is not without trouble. Facing death on a weekly basis is only the beginning; between avoiding police detection, eyewitnesses, and even the malice of his fellow professional killers, Koro's new life looks to be the death of him. Will Koro manage to survive long enough to keep his promise to his sister? Will he turn tail and escape from this life of crime, finding solace in the company of someone or something else? Or will he be hunted down and killed before he ever gets the chance? Main Characters Sara Tesla - Koro's twin sister Sara is a high school student who harbors complex feelings. To her brother, Sara is an angelic sister with a loving nature and endless affection; an image she cultivates and builds on daily. To everyone else, however, Sara is narcissistic and thoroughly two-faced. Family aside, Sara doesn't care for other people in the slightest, and as a result of her desperately trying to hide this fact, her family mistakenly believe Sara to be bipolar. Karasu - An up and coming crimelord Karasu builds his wealth through a variety of "services", including, but not limited to, gambling, corporate espionage, and organ trafficking. Above all, however, Karasu is most famous for providing "waste disposal" for neighboring towns, whether they request his services or not. His ultimate goal is to build an empire he can share with his beloved "children"; interesting individuals he has taken under his wing and granted a new lease on life. Though many view him as a sadistic narcissist who will stop at nothing to obtain what he wants, Karasu is ultimately a simple businessman who displays affection only for a chosen few. Sai - Karasu's right-hand man Sai is Karasu's most trusted and capable employee, responsible for overseeing his most lucrative business ventures, despite always working in the shadows. He is also responsible for “breaking in” new recruits, and as such becomes Koro's teacher. Unrivaled in what he does, Sai is a ruthless killer who feels no remorse; those who get on his bad side seldom live long enough to realize it. The only things more important to Sai than his work are his daughter's well-being and happiness. Misa - Sai's daughter Misa is a teenage girl who wishes for a normal life. Being the daughter of a professional killer (and protective father), however, Misa has trained from a young age in order to protect herself from the dangers of the world, and in doing so inevitably became aware of her father's line of work. As her father's work absorbed her life, Misa adapted her skillset to match those of a killer, using her youth and small figure to become the youngest and most discreet killer among her peers. Outside of work, Misa is still just a young girl. She's very friendly, once she warms up to someone, and is protective of those close to her. 24. Alright so I didn't think I´d get a story to put in here but now I do have one actually. My childhood friend who has been in the military for a year finally came back to our hometown and of course he came over to hang out. Thing is, we haven't seen each other in ... Well a while and that meant he doesnt really know about me liking VNs. He knows I´ve liked anime, light novels and manga for ages but VNs is kind off on a different level. Anyways, so he came over to my house, we walk into my room and I figure I´d show him some of my book that I´m writing cuz ... Well I´m excited about it and show everyone So my computer was in sleep mode, and I had completely forgotten about what was on it before. And so as I open it an H-Scene from SonoHanabira revolution - Rinagisa pops up, right in the middle of the act. (Why did I save it in the middle? ) The look I got from him then was a mix of: and After I took my time explaining what VNs are and why I love them, which I think he understood in the end. But I think his general opinion of me went down a couple of notches after that

  25. Yeah its hard not to, seeing as every ...VN ... Ever... is like that Well, not really. But let´s face it, a LOT of the most popular VNs are in this setting in some way. I still like it, but I lost my pure love for it 10 VNs ago

  28. The concept behind the idea of the chuunige is basically 'An action VN that goes for broke' when it comes to creating settings, characters, and events (there is more to it, but meh). Most people's idea of chuuni seems to have been formed by those anime series with chuunibyou characters/heroines that started popping up a few years ago... Mmm... if you want an example of Western chuuni, Star Wars is perfect. You don't get any more chuuni than Star Wars, lol.

  35. Aah, Escha & Logy Plus was just what I needed. Laid back and adorable, it just makes me feel really cheerful. There's all kinds of nice quality-of-life improvements over the previous titles like consumables restock automatically after going back to village and some other smaller tweaks to combat and UI in general. The crafting system seems like it's streamlined a little, but because I never really got into crafting in-depth in previous games it's hard to say whether it's dumbed down or not. New and returning cast is joyful; Linca is moe as ever, adult Willbell is adult pretty much only in looks (barely) and the main due is pretty great too. I thought Logy was going to be the quiet and cool guy based on the few things I looked up before release (like one trailer), but he's actually really nice. And Escha has that cuteness of a energetic puppy, which I guess was the point if the tail accessory is any indication. It's really nice that there are companies which games you can just buy without looking up anything and still know you're going to like them. Gust is one them for me, and so far they haven't disappointed.

  38. What's a Muv Luv? I'm kidding, I'm kidding. If only it were that easy, friend. That is sort of like comparing an apple to an apple pie. Like CLANNAD, Muv Luv has strong ties to other forms of media, and can use/rely on preexisting art assets, physical products, ect. By doing so this provides the campaign with a greater chance at a more diverse set of backer rewards, and more reward tiers to pull in a larger spectrum of backers for a bigger overall funding goal.
