  1. Hi, everyone. Although I created this account last year, I guess you could say I'm new as well. I just didn't bother to use it until now. I speak Spanish, English and Japanese (I only started studying two years ago though, so i'm not THAT good yet) and although I technically started playing visual novels in 2014, I only started to gain more interest in the medium around 2019. Some of my favorite visual novels are Sakura no Uta, Kara no Shoujo, Totono, Danganronpa V3, Muv-Luv, Chaos;Child, SubaHibi and Sumaga. I'm also playing Muramasa right now and it's very good as well. I really like onee-san or senpai type heroines, my favorite genres would be Utsuge and Denpa and I'm a big fan of Nitroplus and Makura's catalogue. I'm interesed in Innocent Grey, Leaf and Liarsoft as well. My current favorite artists are NamanikuATK, Sugina Miki, Motoyon, Inugami Kira, Ooishi Ryuuko and Kannuki Yoake/Amamura Kekka. I do a few translation/QC things from time to time, as well as image and video editing (Mostly subtitles and/or karaokes). I also draw sometimes, although I haven't done so recently.

  2. The Visual Novel Monthly Recap for August 2021 is out! Naturally, Muramasa is the absolute biggest announcement, it caused a temp JAST server overload. There were quite a handful of notable releases of a fantranslation and a notable remake of a classic.

  3. So, the recent release of The Sekimeiya: Spun Glass went pretty unnoticed so far, but currently seems to get some attention thanks to a comment on VNDB. It actually has a rating above 8.5 with over 60 votes there, which is unusually high for an OELVN. There aren't even that many JVN's that high. It's a scifi mystery thriller that actually looks pretty professional. It uses NVL style, which I personally don't like that much, but if the story is good it might not matter that much. So, for everyone who isn't already jumping on Muramasa and looking more for a SciFi mystery VN in the spirit of the infinity series titles like Ever 17, this might actually be worth a look. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1432500/The_Sekimeiya_Spun_Glass/?utm_source=vndb

  6. 1) JVNs are generally priced high in Japan and over here have greatly reduced pricing. 2) Localization speed can be anywhere from three months to seven years depending on the company doing the job and any legal issues involved. 3) My advice? Don't until you have it done and ready for release, then announce it a month before you release it with plenty of community outreach. 4) The balance between Westernization and translation. An eternal dilemma for people doing anything related to bringing JVNs over here. 5) Who cares about censorship? Mosaic is sexy *Clephas's eyes go blank and he gives an eerie smile* 6) Digital availability? Well, preferably, it should be available on Steam at the very least, since a lot of people don't want to trust their credit cards to small net shops run by individual localization companies. 7) Pay for localization staff sucks, end of story. 8 ) Kickstarters were great for the first iteration of the larger localization industry (as opposed to the 'old version' where there were precisely three companies doing localization and spent years on each one), but now they are just an excuse to defray costs in advance with no guarantee of an actual release. 9) No need for physical versions of the localized games, unless the game becomes popular enough to justify a commemorative edition. 10) VNs are less niche than they used to be, but any genre where reading is a significant part of the experience will always be niche, as most people are too stupid to be truly literate.

  7. Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo Rated 18+ In the near future. In a not so distant place. There exists a society where law is based upon deterrence and criminals are assigned "obligations" fitting for their crimes. Within this society, a man named Morita Kenichi aspires to the position of Special High Class Individual, one who holds authority over said criminals. For the purpose of fulfilling his ambition, Kenichi returns to the town he once called home. There he will encounter three girls bearing "obligations" and there he will encounter the past he left behind. Won't you join him in this story about how people relate to their society? In this story about how a society relates to its people. In this story about the girl amid the sunflowers growing in the country spinning like a wheel. ENDING GUIDE Sharin no Kuni doesn’t have the kind of routes you might except from a Visual Novel. Rather, after the introduction you will see the girls’ stories in the following order Sachi, Touka, Natsumi. Entering a heroine’s route doesn’t affect anything except the epilogue after the ending (and in the case of Sachi and Touka you get some extra scenes during the main story). After you’ve begun a relationship with Sachi or Touka you won’t be able to switch in later chapters. If you’re planning to do several routes it is definitely recommended to do Natsumi’s route first. ***Game Routes*** Natsumi Hinata Sachi Mitsuhiro Touka Oone Harem End Secret Heroine For a spoiler-free walktrough simply follow the walktrough for Natsumi or Harem End and instead of choosing (2) Live peacefully with Natsumi and the others, choose the other choice. For a more detailed walktrough (but with spoilers) read this: This walktrough is based on info aquired from GameFaqs.com and This Walktrough with some editing and additional info by me. Edit: Some stylistic changes made for posting in walkthrough section. -Tay
