I downloaded a pre-patched version and it still didn't work so I'll just have to play the unpatched version

I installed it on a different laptop and it runs fine until i patch it so that must be the problem I think i've installed the patch correctly and it still doesn't run

So i recently got IMHHW and i was excited to play it. The game runs fine up until i meet the girl in the wheelchair on the hill, but then I get a popup saying ADVPlayer HD crashed. I searched all over the forums and couldn't find anything that was definite help. I tried uninstalling ADVplayer but i couldn't find it anywhere on my PC. And downloading different codec packs didn't help either. If anyone can give me some solid help I would greatly appreciate it.
