  1. A while back me and my friend ended up in a discussion about what place Let’s Plays have when it comes to visual novels. After approximately two hours of debating, it would eventually lead to us making a whole 17 minute video on the topic. I thought I’d share it here since it would be interesting here your opinions on the topic.

Here are a few questions that would be interesting to here your thoughts on:

    • 1.       Do you like/dislike/are indifferent towards let’s plays of visual novels?

    • 2.       Do you think Let’s Plays of visual novels are good/bad for the industry and the community as a whole?

  2. For editing your videos, it depends entirely on how much experience of video editing you have. If you've already done quite a bit of it, then the (as far as I know) best software out there is Adobe Premiere Pro (I use this one) and Final Cut if you have a Mac.

You should NOT touch either of these if you have no experience with editing though. They are super complicated and are extremely user unfriendly so they will be nearly impossible to use if you're just starting out. If you're a beginner then I would recommend checking out Magix Movie Edit or Camtasia Studios as they are geared much more towards beginners.

And finally, if you have literally no experience at all with video editing, then you should first spend a few hours playing around with the freeware stuff just to learn the basics; Windows Movie Maker if you're using a PC and iMovie if you have a Mac.

    Hope that helps =)

  3. Unpopular opinions about VNs? Sure, I'll chip in:

Hatoful Boyfriend (that pigeon dating game) is much better then it looks at first glance, the ending of Ever17 was a mess, and... uh.... actually I don't think I have anymore then that... I go with the crowd way too much. o_o

  4. Voted.

It's a bit intresting, I think as of right now h-scene don't actually affect an given VN's popularity at the moment because the community is so small and closed, the majority of VN readers have probably just kinda gotten used to their existance. Even if one doesn't like them, I think most of us have just learned to put up with them inder order to have our stories. One could even argue that it is somewhat benefitial to genre, by "tricking" people into getting into the medium through the promise titts and ass.

If we are talking about trying to reach more of a mainstream audience though, I don't think the medium stands a chance as long as it is as h-scene centric as it is. It's just something that that's far too wierd and out there to ever by accepted by the average guy and girl. Just to put in perspective: a few years ago there was this one guy here in Sweden who was translating hentai mangas and something-somethng-I-don't-know-the-full-story-later, he got put on trial for owning child pornogrophy. He was eventually freed of all charges (thank goodness, our system of justice actually seem to work), but the mere fact that something like this would actually go to court in the first place speaks volumes about what the general public would think of this stuff should it ever get more attention.

  5. The background of the forum theme is black. If you use the IPB default theme it is dark blue. Hence all the logos need to be made for dark background since those are the only 2 skins currently used on fuwa. (the IPB actually doesn't use the mare logo, I only changed it for the gravity green theme).

Alright, thanks Steve. I could not figure out how #1 would work since the "novel" part of Fuwanovel is barely visible on the white background.

By the way, is there anyway we can get to see how #5 would look on a black background? I just wanna know since it might look quite different when you remove the white background.

  6. Disrespectful behavior is punished via Warning, this has always been a thing and will keep being a thing.

Just because we don't announce who got warned publicly (or privately) doesn't mean disrespectful members don't get warned.

If you ever think someone has been disrespectful, the report button is your friend. I assure you we look over every report and if we see disrespect, a warning will be issued to the person in question.

    Oh, wow I'm behind.

Well... at least the problem solved itself for me. Thanks for telling me this Nosebleed.

  7. Oh man, why did you have to ask...

Well, I was very close to shedding tears, and if I did, I would feel like I lost to Arkada... And I don't like that feeling! I have no idea how people enjoy crying... But I sure don't :D

Oh and it was starting to get repetitive and boring. I've rarely ever finished a VN completely...

Haha! I get it, it's always hard being proven wrong.  ;)
