Incredible work everyone, it's truly endearing to see that you've finally finished what you all started so many years ago. I might have only followed it for the last month or so, but it's really amazing to see what you've accomplished. Thank you all.

Thanks for following the project
I was just uploading these days some videos on how the new Miazora reads like. You came a little early since I am not done yet uploading it all (some 8 videos need to be uploaded), but if you want to take a look at the first 3 I uploaded so far, I can send you in private. I want to get some feedback on what can be improved on the original Moenovel translation (I heavily edited all scripts so it should read better than the Moenovel version did, but still, it's based on Moenovel TL so it cannot be perfect). As for the H-scenes, I left that to Dergonu so I don't know at the moment how the things are going on there. Next week, I'll have the first 2 or 3 hours of the VN uploaded, you could either wait to see that and give some feedback or I could PM you the first 3 videos I uploaded so far
.
I'm willing to help out anyway you want, I can watch what you've posted so far or wait! If you want feedback on what you've posted, feel free to send it, if you prefer to wait then I'll wait!

Now, the last modification I'd make to it is to switch from Passive Voice to Active one. That's what the option 2) is supposed to be. Your example is also in the Active Voice: "Her directness caught me off guard."... So I might go with your example at the end, if I don't hear any other better suggestion
... Thanks
If I could had my grain of salt to this, "bluntness" is the word that makes the most sense. Directness might be better on a grammar level, but it's hardly ever used anymore and would only be heard in high society, which the game doesn't take place in. All the others like "pushiness", "forwardness", all seem weird in this context as they don't exactly all mean the same thing. To me, bluntness is what makes sense here.

So is it basically a less drama-based and more feel-good/slice of life version of IMHHW?
Pretty much, yeah! IMHHW is for sure a pure "drama", with lots of emotions, eye-tearing moments, with almost every route (except for Ageha's), you dive into the love interest's insecurities, and except for Ageha's route which is a disaster, it's difficult at times to bear the pain of the LIs. ASFOS has a couple moments that will make your eyes watery, but nothing like IMHHW, it's more a chill slice of life dating sim' with a few "nostalgia" moments that can be a bit emotional, but nothing much. At almost no point do you feel sorry for the characters in ASFOS, even when they go through difficult times it's not written in a way as to induce hard sympathy.
3 hours ago, NowItsAngeTime said:Whyd you consider Korona's route boring? What did you think of other routes?
I liked all 3 routes, imho the game could have been a lot better if they didn't shut down all the other characters once you move on with your love decision. When you start dating a girl, you rarely interact with the other ones after, which means that the game gets only as interesting as the girl you chose is, and Korona is most def plain and boring. She's just way too stereotypical, she's the sister of the friend who wants to be seen like a woman because she not-so-secretly loves the MC... A poor choice to make her an option, I would have much rather played a Narue or Honoka route.
-
Well, just got done with ASFOS! I really enjoyed it for the most part, even though Korona's route was really boring to me... I still prefer IMHHW but I can't say I didn't like ASFOS!

(unlike a bunch of people here saying I actually like Pulltop's ability to have super long H scenes)
It's not that I dislike it, it's just that I fast skip through most of it because 90% of it is "groan" and "moan". I like them, I just don't read them like I would the rest of the story.

I didn't play IMHHW so I don't know much about it, but I am satisfied with the way ASFOS does things. It's one of the best, if not the very best, "no forced drama" VN I have touched so far.
I'd say IMHHW is for sure more "drama material", ASFOS has barely anything dramatic happening, it's really nice, the characters are well-written, but I don't really see any of those "teary-eyes-inducing" moments that I had so much of in IMHHW. If no one told me, I'd think IMHHW was made after ASFOS, it feels like a more engaging story, but I guess after IMHHW they decided to make something that was more slice of life has you said rather than just truly sad stories where characters are always faced with adversity and failure over and over again!

What do you think, what made me stop reading the VN at some point? I didn't even finish a route and immediately began a project for it. I was like "no, this isn't how things should be" and just went straight into doing a project to restore the missing content.
So far I think it's a really good VN, but maybe going into it straight after IMHHW was a mistake, I'm just not as engaged in the characters in ASFOS. Maybe it's because the VN is not as good, or I didn't give myself enough time. It's still really good though, I guess you could say it's not as "tragic" as IMHHW was, so there's no super emotionnal moments.
9 hours ago, Infernoplex said:yes, tell me more about it. It's a shame this VN didn't have a proper editor to really squash all the awkward lines. A real shame. But it still can be enjoyed, I think this is one of those VNs where the quality of the VN itself is pushing the overall impression, more than the translation itself.
That's something I could work on since it's the only thing I can do, that'd free you up to work on the rest !

Just got done with Hikari's route (did Saya's before), and I'll tell you what: when H-scenes are in the game, I don't really pay much attention to them, but not having them actually feels so wrong. Now that I'm playing an Heroge without them, I can really feel everything that they bring to the table. I really want to do something to help you out, I've spotted a lot of english that could use a bit of work, and I'm really looking forward to testing what you've been working on, I'll finally get to see those missing scenes !!

Your savegames shouldn't be dependant on compatibility issues. In fact, I just found that the savegame directory is easy to find. It's inside "Users/(*Your Username*)/Saved Games/Moenovel/" or "/Willplus", depending on which one you are playing. Check that folder. If you are on Win7 and later OS, it should be there.
Thank you, but I'm not playing on a "steam-realeased version" of the game if you follow my meaning... It was fine anyway, I wasn't that far so it only took a couple minutes of skipping !

Hey guys, it might not be the place to ask this but : I checked the box "don't show this window again" as not to display the setup launch window before the game starts, but ever since that my game stopped working. I reinstalled it a few times, I reinstalled directX and everything, but I guess the issue comes from this window not displaying, does any of you know how to make that window pop up again ?

Well I fixed the game, in case anyone stopping by was looking for a fix to the game not starting with the error message "AdVHD has stopped working", make it windows XP(pack3) compatible and check "run as administrator". Lost all my saves though, thank god I wasn't far !

Just to let you know, I've finished IMHHW and I'm going straight into ASFOS. Depending on how long it is, I should be done in about 2 or 3 days and I'll be able to help you after if you want !

PS - As for the percentage count, seeing that we have around 7,500 lines of H scenes and 45,896 lines overall, the script for localized version was cut by at least around 16% from the original script jusy by removing H scenes.
Which is why it's important to have people like Inferno to do the hard job of patching these games, we're not talking 2 or 3 % of the story missing, we're talking 16%, that's a big deal. I end up skipping most of the h-scenes anyway, but it doesn't feel right not to have them.

Wait, Love Kami has 18+ content ? I might want to look into that... Thanks for the info !

I'd be interested in testing for sure, although as I said I'm really new to the whole VN scene and can't understand most of the tools used for it, so you'll have to explain to me how to setup everything I need and so on! But I'd really like to for sure!

Perhaps I was a bit ambiguous. When I talk about Sweet Love support i mean whether it will work in-game at all. Currently there are no plans to translate it. So best possible outcome is that it will work in some of the game versions but will remain in Japanese.
It's ok, it doesn't matter to me if it's in the game since I can't read it anyway. I wish there was something coming for SL though, I really enjoyed PE w/ Happiness, it felt full circle to have those small epilogues :c
-
I'm not "native" per say, although I grew up fluent in both french and english thanks to an english-fluent mother and an american step mother. I can read it no problem, and can write it about as flawlessly as a native-english person if I really put myself up to it. I lack the vocal practice to have a good accent though aha!
-
Ok, thank you, looks like I'll have to wait longer to read through a proper Ageha's route and Sweet Love then, I don't know anything about japanese so I couldn't play the japanese game anyway. Thank you for your answers !
-
Thanks, that answers my questions ! Yes, IMHHW's translation is just nonsense when it comes to Ageha's route, I'm doing Amane's route as we speak and so far it seems a lot better, like Kotori's route, but there is still a few things wrong here and there, nothing that makes it impossible to understand though so I'm fine with it. I of course don't expect you to rework the entire game, and I don't mind a few mistakes in the english here and there and such, I was just really really pissed at Ageha's route since I could barely understand anything (and even the translation was censored sometimes, ie. "eyes" instead of "breasts").
When i'll be done with IMHHW and have played through ASFOS, I could offer my services when it comes to reworking some of the english if you want to, I have still about 6 months at least of free-time, I still have obligations but no work so it woudl still leave me with plenty of hours a day where I could work on making some weird sentences better, if you'd be interested in that. I have no skill in japanese or patching or any of this, I could just do little "adjustments" if you will, working from the already-translated texts!
-
So I was just wondering about the patch, are you going to just translate the cut H-scenes and insert them in the MoeNovel translation as is, or will you rework the big translation errors from the non-cut story ? (I'm saying "big" because I don't expect anyone to be able to correct every little mistakes, so just talking about the ones that make it really hard to understand what's going on). I'm asking because for long segments of Agahi's route in IMHHW I was just lost and couldn't understand a single thing, I'm not criticizing the patch you'r making or you in any way, I was just curious, I haven't even installed ASFOS yet !
-
Hey everyone, sorry to come in like this, but I just got done with Ageha's route and I've had it with MoeNovel's version (Got it in a humble bundle, patched it to 18+), and although Kotori's route was just perfect and me shed a fair share of tears, I found Ageha's route unbearable due to the translation (the english looks like it was written by someone who barely understands english), I could only understand about half of it. I see that this topic is dedicated to a translation from the japanese game directly, so I assume it's a different translation than the "official one" and from what I can read from the few pages of this thread, I trust your passion (and english). I was just wondering what I should do to install this patch ? I guess getting the japanese version, but is the link in the first post of this thread still the latest version of the patch or are there any new ones out ? Sorry for not checking for myself but I thought maybe one of you guys could save me going through the 52 pages, I'd really appreciate it if (you have the link somewhere easy for you to find) you could just post it here ! Thank you in advance, I look forward to playing this game properly translated !
