I would assume that in the original Japanese version Saya refers to herself in third person manner, like her saying for example "Saya loves onii-chan a whole lot" instead of saying " I love onii-chan a whole lot" They seem to have changed that for the western release. Just a wild guess though, don't take my word for it.
