[OPEN][REVSHARE][CG, BG, UI] Recruiting for a dystopian VN set in future SK
Epschy replied to Epschy's topic in Recruitment
Not much progress has been made since the thread was open, but my goal is now to resume the development of the game and release it in this first or second quarter of this year. -
I would also recommend "Ame ni Shite Hito o Hazure". It's a short VN with a pretty intriguing plot. I took me a little more than 2 hours to finish,

Nitroplus announces a new original anime called Revenger
Epschy replied to HataVNI's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
Woah, I'm aware of this anime since it was released, but I didn't know it was produced by Nitroplus. And it is written by Gen Urobuchi too! I'll definitely watch it now. Thanks for your thread! -

Hey there! I'm looking for visual novels protagonized by young characters, wether they're high school students or young adults, with a good story. After reading Saya no Uta, Mandemon, and watching the Toshokan Sensou anime, I'm looking for a more realistic read for us people who aren't psychos, vampires or military soliders. I'd prefer to read more lighthearted works, but I'm fine with utsuges, nakiges and every story "tone". I don't want to read moe/galges, BLs, game focused on sex or games in which the goal is to sex a heroin, or basically any game that is visibilly trying to appel to an specific audience. I am interested in games driven either by the plot or by the characters, with good story and decent writing. Thank you and I look forward to yours recs!

Horror Recommendations That Are Simillar to... ?
Epschy replied to bananaa_.'s topic in Recommendations
Just in case you don't know, Phenomeno is a short adaptation of a light novel. If you liked the VN, you might want to read the original novels, too! You can find more info about the translation of the books at https://novelupdates.com/ I have been wanting to read Phenomeno for a while now -
Hi there! I'm Epschy, a writer with 1 year of expirience, and I'm looking for volunteers to help with my new dystopian, short visual novel. Story: in the near future, South Korea is now a dystopia: it has become the world's biggest economy, overthrowing the US and China, but that came with a cost. SK's family-owned corporations that rule the country, the "chaebols", have increased even further their influence over the country, and behind SK's economic miracle, the truth is: once people become 18, they are condemned to work 24/7. We follow a 17 year old man trying to spend his last 15 minutes of free time before he is entrapped forever in his work at "Samsam". Roles I'm looking for: CG artist UI artist and logo designer Background artist The script is already 50% written and the sprite art is almost complete, thanks to Ukatpo! Compensation: rev share for the first 6 months after the game is released You can reach out to my through Twitter or Discord. I use the handle @Epschy in both platforms Thank you!

Hmm, I don't know how to help you. If you can't find anwsers here, maybe it's worth trying to get help on Shiravune's Discord server.

Writers, how can I avoid being a sponge? I've noticed that my writing style is highly influenced by whatever work I most recently read. This is true, for example, in my most recent novel, which has a lot of slapstick comedy even though I hate novels or animes that uses this element. The VN I've read before writing this work was SMEE's Fureraba - a moe, kusoge, with the same kind of comedy I used in my work. I would definitely like to avoid having my writing style being affected this way, but to have a solid writing, or to be adaptable. Am I the only who suffers from this? Is there anything I can do to avoid this? (Note: I've read 60 light novel volumes and 6 regular novels in my life. Maybe my problem is having read few books?)

When I was playing Totono, I had this habit of always drinking an energy drink as soon as I began another reading session. For some reason, this happened only with this particular VN. The reason to drink a white Monster anytime I played Totono, I would tell myself, was to be able to focus more on the novel. But to be honest with myself, this was just a lousy excuse for me to "break rules" — my first time drinking an energy drink was with Totono, and I was always disincouraged of drinking these drinks. Most recently, I read Saya no Uta withouth consuming any white monster cans, only water and coffee. Speaking of which, I do tend to drink a cup of coffee before reading light novels. What about you? Do you practice any habit before consuming a works of a certain medium?

It varies a lot for me. When I'm playing a visual novel, I usually spend 1 to 3 hours in one day, and I always stop once I reach a chapter's end. But there are days in which I don't read VNs, even though I'm playing one at that moment.

Looking for a VN where a bright story turns into a dark one
Epschy replied to Markan's topic in Recommendations
This type os story is known as nakige, here's a list of the best rated nakiges on VNDB https://vndb.org/g596?f=&l=&m=0&s=26w -
Fellow VN writers, I'm curious to know what makes you choose visual novel as the format you tell your story in, rather than other mediums such as regular novels. What stories do you think fits VNs the best? What kind of stories you think are better to keep as regular novels, and do you read and write regular novels too? I'm curious to hear you think!

Shiravune selling on MangaGamer and Jast now
Epschy replied to ChaosRaven's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It always caught my attention how cheap VNs were at Jast even though they should be far more expensive based on their price in dollars, now it all makes sense. Honestly, I'm at a blast when I can buy a VN I'm interested in playing for as cheap as 30 reais. So I'm happy Shiravune is distributing their games in other stores (specially on JAST), I hope Ryuusei World Actor and WA are made available there soon as well.
