I stated "real" gamer because I believe there's a couple of types of gamers. The recreational gamer that plays on consoles with maybe a dozen or so games, mainly FPS. They probably haven't beaten the games yet and only play an hour a day (if even that). Then you have the hardcore gamer, probably plays at least 5+ hours a day on PC with hundreds of games spanning various genres (mostly beaten). A real gamer in my opinion is someone who doesn't have qualms about playing various genres and owns a PC (because consoles are fairly limited). A real gamer shouldn't have a problem playing old games (pre-2000). The most important thing about a true gamer is that they learn from each match/game they play and don't bitch when they lose.

I wouldn't pull the string. I don't believe in deities but regardless I still wouldn't pull because if something that traumatizing happened to me I would go after the criminal myself. I watched Jigoku Shoujo and it's one of my favorite anime also but you rarely see the man/woman go after the person themselves, which is overall kinda weak to have to depend on Enma to carry out your vengeance.

Thread title says all. As for me I would say Rance for protagonist, I haven't played a VN with a good antagonist.

Sengoku Rance had a overall great soundtrack with a couple memorable soundtracks Saya's Song had a good couple of tracks, I really loved I & II however. They were both pretty ominous

I recently upgraded my rig, I can handle a PS3 emulator now. It'll be awesome when I can play some JRPG's that are exclusive to the PS3 on my PC. The real gamers find it out relatively soon.

Planetarian looks pretty good. And Daganronpa is considered a visual novel (according to VNDB). I've read a bit of the Corpse Party manga and it's also considered a visual novel. As for Amensia.. I'm not into Otome games so I could really care less. I've heard a tidbit about Little Busters! here and there so I might check that out. OreImo is one huge cock tease for like the entirety of the anime. There's only like 2 routes I'd take also (Kirino and Kuroneko) and the story probably isn't anything amazing. If I'm going to play a Non-H game I'd rather spend it on Clannad or some other more worthy title. Thanks for the recommendations!

My first VN was Yume Miru Kusuri and I downloaded it on a whim more than less. It broke a lot of the preconceptions I had of visual novels.

I was wondering if you guys knew any good ones for the PSP. I've modded my PSP and there's a decent amount of visual novels that have gotten translated (Clannad for example). I recently played Sengoku Rance and I really liked how it was a mixture of a TRPG and a visual novel so if there's anything similar on the PSP that would be great. Here's a list of games that I've found with a couple of visual novels in there.

I watched almost the entirety of the original Gintama in one sitting (well I moved to get food/drink). I watched around 150 episodes... I watched Code Geass, GTO, When They Cry, .hack series and Bakuman all in one sitting also. It's somewhat common for me to marathon over weekends or long breaks.

It's a great movie for sure, definitely in my top 5. It's just not my favorite.

I just finished the first Rance game. Overall it was alright, I liked the whole TRPG thing that Sengoku Rance had going on a lot. Also his harem was sorta small in comparison. The game was short however, maybe the remake with new graphics will be more enjoyable. I'm gonna go play the second one now however, I really love this series.

I'd have a really strong douchebag type character (Like Rance for example) running around raping lolis. The story would be him pretty much running from the government as he rapes every loli alive, I dunno why but that seems like it would be so damn entertaining to play. The soundtrack would be full of compositions by Yuki Kajiura and Joe Hisashi. It would have a story that takes over 5000+ hours to beat with like a hundred good endings and one bad ending in which the protagonist figures out he rapes all the lolis and killed himself.

Dead Leaves hands down.
