As a contrast to the thread of the BEST ones, what are the worst you've read? For me, I skipped every one in the Muv Luv series after the first one I saw in Extra (Meiya) (and that one unskippable one in Alt) because they were literally nothing but a sex scene and were just way too long imo.

Seeing Kei with a chan suffix is a first I'd say do them if you're interested in the character in Extra, but skip out in Unlimited. It's not worth it in Unlimited, but it might be in Extra if you like them. + ignore what people say about Extra being bad/skippable/etc., it's actually a masterpiece when you look back at it after the whole series.

So I originally I played Katawa Shoujo, then I was told to play Muv Luv and went through all three games (Alt easily being one of the best - if not the best story I've ever read btw). At the moment I'm starting Ever 17, am I spoiling myself for the future by playing all of the top-rated VNs now? Should I play some non-high rated ones so the high-rated ones have a bigger impact? Edit: Yep, they mostly make slice-of-life nakige(VNs that make you cry), often with a slight fantasy element and are good at what they do. Pardon if I may ask, what is a moe? Sorry not used to 99.9% of anything related to VN or Japanese culture yet Thanks for the suggestions though! I'll definitely check them out and all, I see that you've rated Grisaia no Kajitsu highly, I'll try that one out after IMHHW!

I saw something about Key when doing some research on vns earlier today, is it a dev who happens to make a certain type of vn?

So I have no clue where to go from here, I found a vn forum and decided to register to learn about some vns that I might not find while googling and to hear peoples opinions on them in a more personal way. So anyways, I've only played Katawa Shoujo and loved it, but have been struggling to find a non-fantasy and non-scifi VN ever since. I've looked into the fantasy and sci-fi ones, and was recommended Muv-Luv so I'm tyring it out, but I'd really love to find a more realistic and non-scifi and non-fantasy one through this community. So yea, hey everyone! Redsaber here
