While I wouldn't mind forming a team, I am currently on my own (I think?) and I'm interested in participating.

Well, while I did write something, I decided against submitting it. It's not because I don't think you guys would like it (like I care about you, ha!) but because I personally didn't end up liking my story. As such, best of luck to the ones who submitted something!

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, because I'm too lazy to find the english title. Finished it very quickly, I loved this protagonist. 2 main reasons: - An antisocial git for a protagonist is always nice. Furthermore he's actually kind deep down. And! He sticks to his beliefs to the end. Doing things his despicable way. - He can win using words. I know this isn't very specific, but I love battles of wits and arguments where one person clearly wins and maybe even changes the other. (Although he takes the worst side of it) Do you guys know any other anime with protagonists that adhere to one of these two things? And I'm now on Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko.

Logically yes. Imagine you're almost done. It just so happens that you get run over by a bicycle, a car, a bus, a train and a plane, one at the time. After each time you're run over you need to go to the hospital and recuperate, during this time you make no progress. So, even though you're almost finished, if you're interrupted by real life every time you deal with the last problem, then you'll make no progress. What's happening isn't quite like this, but real life is getting in the way of the translator. But the main thing is that they don't want to give ETA's because if they miss the deadline people won't stop bugging them. -

It was never official, it was more that it'll happen in the future, maybe tomorrow, maybe in three years. -

They estimate it'll be out sometime this millenia. It's currently being worked on, so you have that. -
Shot down in one reply. Sometimes, I write as I think, and that's extremely dangerous. Below you can read my rambling about this subject, mind you, you might go crazy partway through.

I do also have my own questions regarding the people that like lolis in general. The only thing that defines a loli is that they look like a prepubescent (or are one, although this is arguable, for each person takes the term their own way). However, their personalities may vary. How can someone claim that they like lolis as a personality type when they could also fit other stereotypes? Do lolis in general also have rules that limit their personalities? Not all lolis are childish, and although I can't think of one myself, a loli "Onee-san" type, for example, shouldn't be unheard of.

I'd just love to know how you came to that conclusion. -
You know what? To hell with humanity, religion or no religion we'll still murder each other over it. I'll go hide in the basement with my laptop now.
-
Well, but some religions still do. Even if most of them were peaceful, religion as a whole, (nowadays, anyway) isn't as important to a society as it once was, so starting wars, even if it's just a minority, is less than advantageous to it.
-
Guess I'm expecting too much out of this... I do believe that I'll get to experience awesome robots later down the road, though.
-
I didn't say it was a good thing, but it was pretty much necessary at the time.

Everyone already finished with the happy birthdays? Good. Happy birthday, lad. -
While I wouldn't want to compare us common people with brainless sheep, that's what most of the uneducated and ignorant people where like hundreds of years ago. Religion was a crucial part in keeping people happy and making sure there was some kind of leader. It's true that it lead to lots of wars, but I believe that the anarchy that would come up from not having a religion at all would have been just as bad. I will agree that nowadays, most of the people are educated and logical, meaning that religion has no significant advantages to the society. And unfortunately it still seems to start religious wars in this day and age, so I'd go as far as to say that it's disadvantageous to the society. But it was a crucial part of our past, and we can't just up and get rid of it.

TL;DR I can't explain stuff properly, I just repeated the same sentence 3 times with different wording Q_Q But I mean that people created gods, and other people took advantage of it, since thousands of years ago. Gods weren't created by the leaders, but the leaders did make use of them to their own advantage. I did make a mistake when I said 2000 years of history, though. I meant thousands of years.
-
Not originally. It started as a way to explain the unknown. But Science later went and rendered it useless. Smart people then decided to make use of it for their own goals, and that's 2000 years of history.

Just you keep on hoping and being positive. I'm sure good things always happen

I'm too cynical for religions. I wasn't taught about religions because my catholic (in name only) parents couldn't be bothered (My sister turned out to be catholic, somehow). So now I don't care. I also don't believe in souls and all that, so I don't have much reason to believe in religions, either. The worst turn of events is if it all ends up being true and I go to hell for it, that wouldn't be too nice. (If I were to go to hell, I at least hope it's for a better reason than that ) I could go and talk about how historically religions allowed the manipulation of people and nations but I doubt that's what you're looking for.

Allow me to jump into his defence! What he said, wasn't that bots could take over creativity, but that any jobs overly reliant on creativity cannot stand as the basis for a society. He then also noted that we're trying to make bots copy art, not that creativity was solely art. Even if we are still ways away from that happening (which I don't actually think we are, give 'em 20 years and we'll see these bots much more often), it is undeniable that we haven't stopped developing these, and that they will happen in the future. Even if my generation doesn't have to deal with it, maybe the younger generations or the ones that have yet to be born, will.

To be honest, any piece of medium, even if it ends up being a masterpiece, that leaves a terrible first impression is bound to have people desert it before finishing. I won't say that in this case it's terrible, for I have yet to play it, but it's the VNs job to make sure the reader will be captivated long enough to get to the actual plot. Then again, 5 minutes of playing isn't exactly fair to the visual novel either...

Yes, in general Clephas plays untranslated games, and the translated ones he does play he plays them before they get translated. So most of the titles you'll find in his lists are untranslated ones. Edit: As for this particular list, I'd wager they're all untranslated.

You'll still have to wait a while to figure out where she gets it from. As for that balderdash with Ken, just think of it as Ken's delusions, probably all that smoking ;P

This thread really refuses to revive I'm honestly not much good at discussing this stuff, but I can say that I personally look forward to further developments. Even if we all lose our jobs they're gonna have to do something to keep us unemployed plebeians in place. It's impossible to run a nation where half the population is unemployed, meaning we'll either still keep our jobs in other places (whatever works best) or society is gonna change drastically.
