I'm currently watching Kill la Kill. It is very unique, not only the art, but the characters are also really interesting. It's definitely one of the craziest animes I've seen. Pic:

The animes I watch/plan to watch and started airing recently/will start airing soon and might actually have quite some potential: Akuma no Riddle - Horror, Yuri (I know, right?) Date a Live II - Comedy, Romance (You can't go wrong with this one.) Fairy Tail (2014) - Action, Fantasy, Shounen (Recently resumed shounen, pretty decent at that.) Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara - Comedy, Romance (Wondering about this one, looks cute though.) Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Magic, Romance, School (The first episode was good, the source material is highly acclaimed so I have high expectations.) There might be some animes I've somehow hadn't heard about, but these are the more decent things I've found.

My first anime would be Pokemon if I recall correctly. It was basically one of the first popular dubbed japanese series airing in my country, so everybody had to watch it as a kid to be able to fit into the majority group. Considering my first manga, I didn't really read any much. My first manga encounter would be Naruto, around 2 chapters only though, didn't really feel the need to read since then.

Well, probably true. Their songs have some pretty good lyrics so why not. Next person started playing VNs because of an acquaintance (recruited or something).

False, I actually prefer anime over VNs and everything (manga, LNs, ...). Next person wouldn't mind being (or wants to be) a top-class member of some yakuza organization.
