I try hard to avoid VNs with rape. One of my IRL friends was raped in college, and ever since I can't handle any male-on-female non-consensual scenes. I just can't stand rape being glamorized or sexualized. And I'm scared if I started reading VNs with rape, that I might start to enjoy it, and I just don't want to chance it. I'm already enough of a deviant as is! =) That said, I don't have any problem with dark sexual / rape content existing, I just don't read it. It's fantasy, and I don't think less of anyone who can read it and enjoy it. I just can't compartmentalize myself well enough to do that. Oh ... and I don't read NTR because it hurts my heart.

Is that bad? Do I fail? D- maybe, for trying at least? =) I'm still pretty new to the VN scene, and have only read a dozen, or thereabouts. I'm enjoying it so far!

The Muv-Luv trilogy, provided I had four seasons. One for Extra, one for Unlimited, two for Alternative. If I only get one 13 episode season, it'd be impossible to do it any justice. So I'd go with Yumina The Ethereal, or maybe Sharin no Kuni. Either of those I think would make a good amine.

I vote play it now. It's unclear to me whether the TL might be stalled, or just progressing slowly. But the team's twitter account is dead, and there hasn't been an update in at least a couple months, AFAIK. I like to have faith it will finish, but then again, I'm one of those poor fools who's also waiting on Miyako's route in Majikoi since approximately the dawn of time, so I've learned to just live in the moment, not get your hopes up, and just be pleasantly surprised when a TL finishes. The original Little Busters has tons of content as is, without EX.

I've not had any truly bad experiences so far. The closest calls for me: - Fate route from FSN, mostly just due to the incredibly sexist attitude - HF route from FSN - Comyu -- I love this game, but good god it moves at a glacial pace. I really want to stick with it, and want to know what happens to the characters, but it takes eons for anything to happen just due to the slow nature of the writing.

I can't review it because I've been stuck in the eternal limbo of waiting for Miyako's route to be translated. I feel I can't fairly give it a verdict until I've finished reading it. But I did enjoy all the routes I read. I found the comedy to be actually funny, which probably had a lot to do with it. I think Majikoi works great as long as you go into it expecting just to laugh and be entertained, and not to be blown away by great literature. It doesn't take itself seriously and that's just part of its charm. Besides, IMO not every VN needs to take itself seriously. Too many other VNs have already carved out my heart and stomped on it. Every once in a while you should treat yourself to one that is just silly, sweet and fun. Majikoi is exactly that, IMO.

Agreed wholeheartedly. The Muv-Luv series still has the top place in my heart ... even if MLA gave me PTSD.

Sorry in advance for the dumb question, but: Is there any hope for a Fate/Hollow Ataraxia voice patch? My (limited) understanding is that the existing Vita port of F/HA is fully voiced, but is all ages only. The English translation of F/HA, however, is based off the unvoiced PC version. Would it be possible to patch the PC game somehow to include the voice from the Vita port, sort of like what was done for F/SN Realta Nua? Is anyone working on that? Or is there no interest? I feel like we really lucked out with Fate Realta Nua, which gave us the best of all possible worlds -- full voice, full content, sex scenes (for those who are into that sort of thing), etc. It was literally the best of each version, combined into one. I was just curious to know whether anyone would attempt to do the same for F/HA.

So ... um... the Muv-Luv Altered Fable translation has been stalled at 65% for nearly a year. I don't have the words to express the sad feels this evokes in the heart of me and my fellow Muv-Luv AF hopefuls (or hopeless?). Does anyone know if it's been dropped? Right now I'm half tempted to start recruiting for a machine translation team to 'finish' the project. Yes, I know machine translations are awful, but it just seems such a shame (to my warped otaku mind) that there are more happy times we could share with Takeru, Sumika, Meiya et al. ... but we never will unless someone steps up to complete the project. So what do you all think? Is now the time to have faith in the translators? Or is it time to try to finish it ourselves, as best (or as poorly as) we can? Maybe I'm just crazy.
