  1. Looks like MangaGamer will likely not be distributing Steam keys for bundle purchases of When They Cry. Sometimes people change their mind when buyers complain, but I wouldn't count on it. Bundle's probably moving a bit slower this time around due to the lack of Steam trading cards.
  2. There have only been two doujin bundles, the first being in August, IIRC. If you meant inexpensive game bundles in general, then they happen all the time. Sometimes the general bundles have eastern-styled games, like 99 Spirits in the Indie Royale a bit ago.
  3. In a couple hours, Groupees will start another build-your-own Doujin game bundle. There seemed to be some interest last time, so I thought I'd post again. This time around it will contain: eXceed 2nd - Vampire REX eXceed 3rd - Jade Penetrate Black Package HellSinker Higurashi When They Cry (VN) KAMUI ARMED SEVEN Hatoful Boyfriend (otome VN) Plus unlockable bonus material. Mostly shmups but two visual novels are nested in there. Anyway, it's a way to get them on the cheap. If it follows the last bundle's pricing, you could get the two VNs for $1.50 USD total, on top of whatever bonus gubbins they add.
  4. Pretty much agree with this, just based on what I've experienced and witnessed of others, though part of me thinks that DRM would exist even if only a handful of people pirated titles. I believe that a large part of preventable piracy revolves around service issues, and indicates a disconnect between production and consumption. :/
  5. Appears as though they added a ninth bonus after Satazius, but it's a toss up as to whether the bundle will have enough momentum. Either way, I hope this encourages bundle makers to look at this fanbase in the future. I'm looking at you, Humble Bundle. And Steam, for that matter. I'll be peeved if this doesn't give the bundle participants a huge boost on Greenlight.
  6. Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos unlocked as a bonus, so I'm pretty sure this is technically the cheapest it has ever been. I heard the last bonus is either a Steam title or on Greenlight, so there's some potential there (I'd flip out if it's Analogue). This bundle has been pretty great for this brand of niche gaming. Also, the Jisei-Kansei-Yousei series is worth checking out if you like supernatural mysteries.
  7. Did a search and couldn't find a post on this. Groupees has a sale/bundle going on right now. It's PWYW with a minimum of anywhere from USD $1.50 to $4.50 depending on how many games you choose, or $0.75 during the single game special. I believe all are DRM free, with some having the optional Steam and/or Desura keys. I've used the site for over a year and had no problems, and it's cool to be able to support devs and try out new titles when you've not much money. Full List: Cherry Tree High Comedy Club Ether Vapor Remaster War of the Human Tanks Yousei Yatagarasu (original) Croixleur Cafe 0 ~The Drowned Mermaid~ (non-voiced version) Bonuses (free with any purchase): War of the Human Tanks Soundtrack Pester Jisei Kansei Cafe 0 ~The Drowned Mermaid~ (Android version, voiced) Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos (not unlocked yet) Also a mystery 7th and 8th bonus, should sale figures be met.

    Tabletop Games

I used to play tabletop games with a group of high school classmates. The members were all over the place popularity and clique-wise, so it made for some refreshingly diverse role playing. We ended up disbanding after the DM started acting too creepy towards my friend and me (the only women), and I've not been able to find a good group since then. :/ Thrilled to see all the great new digital card games, though.
  9. I've to say the broad aspects of this post are applicable to any sort of volunteer project. Those things are so often a labor of love (and under stressed conditions) that people forget to approach it in the same way they would any other long-term task. Not to mention that it tends to create drama. Stretched further, it can even apply to coursework. Can't say how many times I've had people drop out halfway through a class only to be stuck with cryptic project notes and undecipherable lab work. Even when you've dedicated time slots for something, it doesn't make up for haphazard direction.
