I'm not above a replay for those VNs that really strike a chord with me. Off hand, Fate/Stay Night, Eien no Aselia, and Utawarerumono fall under that category. I'm sure there are a few others, but those are the first that spring to my mind. They're not perfect by any means, but something about them just connected with me.

If you have a DS/3DS, I'd recommend Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, or Virtue's Last Reward. They're both very much in the same vein as Ever 17 but I felt like they were much more polished, especially 999. It had a great flow to it, though slugging through all the puzzles multiple times does get a little repetitive.

If you like VNs that include some good gameplay aspects, I really enjoyed my play through of Eien no Aselia....I felt like that one picked up a lot as the game went on. I really enjoyed the latter part of the game, and the strategy behind the combat was just challenging enough to hold my interest.

I just finished YU-NO (A girl who chants love at the bound of this world) and I have to say I was quite impressed with the mechanics of how it handled, considering it's an older novel....not sure if this constitutes spoilers but I'm erring on the side of caution. It's definitely worth a read if you're up for something a little different and some overwhelming pseudoscience. lol

The plot connections between each game are somewhat loose but they don't share any of the same characters so there's no serious continuity between each installment. However, on that same note, there are plot elements common to the series universe so I'd recommend Ryoji's play order, just so you can get the best experience possible out of them and have things laid out in a natural way. Now, keep in mind, Never7 is not as hardcore into the logic chopping as the other two, so it plays much more like a VN with Infinity series type plot elements blended in. It's still a great game, though.

I think my usual MO is to drink root beer (no particular brand since I like several different ones) and chomp on pretzels or Doritos.....basically, lazy man's food.

I love the FSN soundtrack......I prefer one of the other Unlimited Blade Works mixes, but I'm also a big fan of a couple of the tracks featured in the game as well. Very good stuff.

My gaming interests are all over the place so on one hand I'm trying to give Umineko another shot. The last epic VN I completed was Higurashi and I feel like I'm due for another. As for conventional gaming, I'm doing a replay of Fallout: New Vegas.....I'm travelling the Lonesome Road at this point. It's far from a perfect title but I can't deny the charm of the franchise.

Didn't somebody do an edit of the dialogue file for Ever 17? I think they went in and cleaned up a lot of these issues so it reads a lot better. I don't know details though since I've never used it before...

I guess at this point I don't have the patience to sit through any but the most well done H-scenes since they're ripe with unbelievable dialogue and overdone descriptions about the acts being done. In some cases, it feels like somebody whipped out an adult thesaurus and wanted to see how many different ways they could describe the basic motions of intimacy. x.x

Thanks for the warm welcome! I actually have played Policenauts, it was an excellent title. The interface and handling was great, but as for plot and character development I thought Snatcher was a bit better. I dunno if you're familiar with it but it was another Kojima title that Konami commercially released here on the Sega CD way back in the day. I definitely need to give it props since it was one of my favorite titles on the system. As for those other titles, they're all extremely old eroges that were brought out in the mid 90s, I think? They were good titles at that point but they haven't aged horribly well. As for some good titles to upload, one biggie I can think of is YU-NO – The Girl that Chants Love at the Edge of the World. It was only brought out as a fan translation, fairly recently I think, though it is an older title. But apparently, some souls claim it to be one of the better titles out there. It was done by the same studio that developed the Dragon Knight series. A lot of work was put into modernizing it, including a voice pack and a higher quality music build but putting all that together is extremely high maintenance, which is why I haven't had the time to try it out yet. It might be worth looking into.

Hi all, I just stumbled onto the site today and am very impressed with what I see here. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of dedication and quality effort put forth both in the site and in the community, something I've search for, for a long time for the English speaking community. I've been a fan of visual novels for many years, first getting into them when I was much younger. My first encounter was with titles such as Seasons of the Sakura, Three Sisters Story, and Runaway City, but my love of the genre was cemented when I discovered Divi-Dead. Despite the mediocre quality of the translation, the mixture of an engaging plot and brilliant artwork made me hungry for more. Recently, titles such as Ever 17, 999, and Virtue's Last Reward have whetted that appetite, since I'm a sucker for games that are challenging and demand heavy thinking. I'm hoping to get involved and dig in some roots here, since I know nowhere else I can express my deep interest in the visual novel genre. It's good to be here!
