Satsuki Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Still haven't seen one that sings praises about his own country. Not that everything's negative but mostly negative along with some positive ones. There might not be huge wars that hit continents but there really are conflict everywhere. Well, that always happen when people interact tho. Also the food. It's common in Asian cuisine so don't worry about it. Looks inedible but really delicious. We aren't really banned on MMOs but we are notorious for being salty, stupid players in games. I don't really play DotA 2 but I heard that they coined a wonderful term for us; Peenoise. I'm not really offended tho since it's more or less deserved. For the university courses, we have one called RIzal Course. Everyone is require to take take it no matter what degree you're pursuing. Basically it's all about the wonderful life of our National Hero, Jose Rizal. And by that everything about him is included. Also fun fact: His full name is Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda. If you're wondering why his name is sooo long, google it. You'll find some sort of law during that time that required adding names to your own. Try go in World of Tanks and say "I'm Vietnamese" and see how people react And yeah, to tell the truth, I'm not even proud about my country, so that reflexed in my post. I have a reason to be here in New Zealand you know. Run away Quote
Fiddle Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 My daily schedule should provide an accurate representation of the American heritage. The neighborhood bald eagle comes to wake me up around 1:00PM. I pay the bill for said service at the end of the month, along with the obvious 50% tip. I live on foodstamps, so my breakfast always consists of basics like cheeseburgers and soda. Afterward, I choose one or two of my semiautomatic self-loading centerfire rifles to shoot down any commies on the front lawn. The rest of the day depends on what priorities may be in order; today's task was purchasing my weekly rotation of American flags to set up around my house and that of my European neighbor. I typically pass away the rest of the time by watching pro-American television programs like Fox News, and drift into sleep in my M1 Abrams. Mr Poltroon, Sovereign1612 and sanahtlig 3 Quote

Then there's the Filipinos who indiscriminately talk in Tagalog regardless if there are 100 other participants as long as there is still one that can understand him. They mostly band in-game tho so I guess that's why they are proud to be Filipinos.  My daily schedule should provide an accurate representation of the American heritage. Satsuki Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 .When in a foreign country or, say, in an online game with non-Russian speakers, never give in and continue to speak Russian. If you raise your voice and swear people are more likely to understand you. I got gangbang (with words) before by a group of Russian players for asking them to use English Quote

Kurokusari Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Oddly enough there's some sort of strange perception of using the language here. If a foreigner speaks Tagalog, everyone is so amazed and appreciative but when a Filipino speaks English, they find it pretentious. Also another reason why people here have broken English since they have no opportunities to practice, aside from the fact that not everyone gets proper education. Quote
Satsuki Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Same here. Though my "broken English" is due to my introvert personality. Quote

rainsismyfav Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I'm a filipino immigrant here in NJ, USA. Been living here for a decade now, So I've pretty much experienced both sides of the world. I grew up in a town that got hit by Urbanization towards the latter half of my Phils life. I miss the school system and it's one thing I really like about the Philippines. The teachers rotate instead of the students which means you spend so much time with your classmates, forming stronger bonds and a sense of classroom community. In the US, you sure get to know a lot more people, but the interactions tend to be shallow... Most of my geniune social life here in the U.S happens outside of school, while it was the opposite when I was still in the Phils. I almost wished I had graduated high school in the Phils. We had great intramurals/golden week, great class events like English plays and home economics. Everyone felt a lot more engaged. I find it hard to socialize in the U.S. given the great distances between places. You really would need a car to even start. Public transportation is such a hassle to deal with. Philippines had very good accessible mass transit and the places are closer, though super dense... I've assimilated to American culture now, but I'm really glad that I've experienced both sides of being an Asian-American, (as opposed to ones that are born here in the US not exposed to their native culture or even the language). Yeah I also enjoy the school system here. Although the quality and tuition leaves much to be desired, you could make friends easier and get closer with spending hours in the same room for hours most of the week. Well, it could also be a bad experience if you don't have good relationships in the classroom or if you're being bullied. Oh yeah that's also something I've kept hearing about; they say that the case of bullying here in the PH is less severe than other countries. I'm not sure if the ones in foreign movies are exaggeration but nothing like that has ever happened in my whole school life. While I didn't leave the PH, the system is a bit different now that I'm in college. The teachers won't rotate for the students anymore so yeah you'll probably won't stay in the same room much anymore unless you're in a block section. Honestly, being in a block section still feels like high school and I don't hate it. It just means more studying since a failing grade will mean that you'll have to retake that subject and get removed from the block section, most of the time.  Well, my origins are a big gang bang, madagascar, africa, india, china, but more important, France.  Fun fact : Everybody thinks that we always eat awesome food. I mean, that's how it's always depicted in movies and such. Maybe a documentary will be different but I'm not that studious to actually watch documentaries about countries. Come to think of it, I can't quickly say anything when I'm asked "What other cities in France do you know aside from Paris?". I can't think of anything else Quote
Flutterz Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 The only ethnic trolls I ever ran into were Brazilians in the West Coast server of League. My God, for a solid month I had at least one Brazilian on my team every session. That itself wasn't a problem, but all they did was feed and spam either Portuguese or incredibly broken English in the chatbox. I know for a fact the ones speaking broken English understood me, since their responses were pretty accurate, even though they used terrible English. I'm pretty sure they just thought it was funny or something. Don't actually have anything against Brazilians, though; I'm smart enough to know that assholes aren't restricted to one country  I guess the Russian trolls are more common in Dota 2. This is a bit off topic, but I guess that's related to the difference between Dota and LoL. In Dota you don't have to create a new account if you want to play on a different server, you can just queue elsewhere, and the Russians are so terrible to play with even for other Russians (even the ones who aren't like me who do their best to hide their being Russian) that a lot of them queue in EU or even US. Russians even have their own server, partly because Russia is a big country and partly (I think) because it keeps at least some of them out of EU. Quote
Kurokusari Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Actually, I left a few out. I'm also largely French, but I have some Native American blood in me too, specifically Chickasaw and (supposedly) Choctaw. We never manage to celebrate our heritage for every single one of those, but we do try, so I'd like to think it's better than nothing. How in the world can you actually have that much mixed blood? Celebrating each and one of your heritage might turn out as party everyday with that much diversity. Well at least you have considerable knowledge in different cultures considering you try to celebrate your heritage. Definitely amazing~ First time I've ever met someone like you, senpai.  The only ethnic trolls I ever ran into were Brazilians in the West Coast server of League.
