(I can't make a proper banner right now so have a sign I made a while ago, just until I get my pc back)

 

One of the greatest joys of using a forum is undoubtedly having a pretty signature and/or avatar to show off. Thinking that, I decided to create the Signatures Hub, a place where people can share their works, tutorials - as well as those that do not belong to them, as long as proper credits are given to the creators -, resources and tips. In addition, everyone is free to ask for a signature/avatar, I'm sure someone will take your request and make a really great one. 

 

For those who make signatures and avatars not for their use, but just because you enjoy doing so, you can drop them here for people to pick them up. This was something I did on a forum years ago, and I think it'll work well here too. People who want to learn how to make signatures can ask for opinions on their works and help with improving, also possibly taking requests once their confidence has build up enough for it.

 

Please, keep in mind the avatar and signature rules we have on the forums.

• No explicit nudity (genitalia and female nipples are in this category)
• No pornography (this includes implied sexual acts and bodily fluids)
• No gore (disembowelment, dismemberment, torture, etc.)
• No offensive content (profanity, hate speech, offensive symbolism, etc.)
• No seizure inducing GIFs (or GIFs that make people's eyes bleed in general)
• No signatures exceeding 400 Kbs in filesize

 

Lexicon

As we have discussions about the works posted here, I found it relevant to add a lexicon for those who are interested in learning and don't know what is being said. Also, please check it before making a request as "Render" is word whose meaning is fairly unknown when it comes to signatures and alike.

 

Render - An image with no background, they use the .png format.

c4d - An abstract 3D image, some different types exist and they're called by their own names.

• Nebula - Ex.
• Effect Light - Ex.
• Bubbles - Ex.
• Abstract - Ex.
• Effect - Ex.
• Metaball - Ex.
• Wireframe - Ex.

Stock - These are just normal photos that you can use. Usually used as a background or something that is being edited entirely.

Vector - Usually the pictures that are mostly made up of shapes. It doesn't have many details. Ex.

Fractal - Ex.

Texture - A picture that can be used to give a different surface quality in a picture. Usually set on Soft Light/Overlay. Ex.

Lens Flare - Something often used to add brightness and color. Usually set on Screen/Linear Dodge. Ex.

PSD - This is the format used in Adobe Photoshop. There are people who share this as a learning reference.

Brushes - A basic painting tool. It works like a traditional drawing tool by applying the color using strokes.

• Splatters - Liquid splattered brushes, ex.

 

*Note: Yes we are aware that some of our definitions here are different from the formal ones (like Render and Vectors) but these are the common terms used in this sort of thing so please try not to pelt us with eggs because it's different from the real meaning.

 

To make things more organized and easier, if you want to make a request, please use the following model:

Request: (Signature and/or Avatar)

Character: (Specify where the character is from)

Render: (If you already have a chosen one)

Typography: (What you want written in it, the text)

Other: (Anything else you may want to say/ask)

 

Meogii and Kurokusari have their own threads where they accept requests, so if you want something specifically from them, you can leave a comment there or send them a PM.

I was thinking about making my own little deserted signature thread for quite a long time now. But then I think making the thread itself would be too much of a hassle for me.

This thread solves the problem pretty well.

 

I will probably take one of the requests when I'm not lazy.

When are you getting your pc back to action? 

Don't worry, there would me more requests soon and the two of us can't really hog them all. I've already set up a limit for myself so I can't (even if I wanted to, both in stamina and this) take all the requests.

Yeah I agree on taking on requests if you're willing. It's just that taking a request already taken might result in some wasted effort. Well, if you're doing it just for fun then don't let us stop you.

Not sure if it looks good. I ended up experimenting with a lot of stuff rather than doing the usual things I do.

Looks really good imo. Although the final verdict is the one who requested it but I really think it looks good. The text is better than mine where I only make things glow and that's it lol. 

The style looks great too. Those flowers are a really nice touch and the simple feel it has is really wonderful. The only thing that I think that could be improved would be the blending. That and maybe a bit of sharpening and blurring could also do a nice touch of giving focus a bit on the render. Overall, nice Sig! *thumbs up*

 

By the way, do you use photoshop or GIMP? Or something altogether?

I don't think  it's too late to learn tho. With so many materials in the internet, you could easily learn by yourself. It does take a bit of time and effort tho. And if you do decide to learn, we could teach each other here in this thread by throwing in CnC.

...I totally forgot to sharpen it and add some adjusments, lol.

This is the first time I used text like that actually. Usually I just make it so it looks like my current signature or not adding it at all since sometime it's better to not add any text at all in my opinion.

Yeah I also forget the very same things when I'm finishing up. By the way how do you sharpen stuff? I mean, there are many ways to go about it but I'm kinda curious as to how you do it. Maybe I can pick up a thing or two.

 

Well for a first time attempt it turned out quite well. Yeah I get it when not wanting to add some text. The text makes or breaks the sig imo so I try to stick with the simple ones.

 

Same here with using PS. I actually started out with GIMP but switched to PS after a while since the UI is not really user friendly for me.
