In the past few days i tried to get these games working but I couldn't so i hope you guys can help me.

1.Muv-Luv

The installing went smoothly but i couldn't run the english patch because of the NSIS error (already dealt with this problem in the past with other games by typing the location of the file in the cmd and using the /NCRC command)

I tried to run the english patch with hungarian locale (my original one) but the patcher couldn't find the game and tries install it again but the cds I have(iso files) are not good

2.Ever-17 (english version, no install)

The problem with this is that the game can't find the chara.dat file (at the first try it was the bg.dat),although these files are in the folder.(also need 4th cd with the background music, but i can skip this at the start)

3. Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (english version, no install)

I can't really read japanese so here's the error message:

2zecghl.png

(With hungarian locale this message doesn't pop up but instead a blue cmd and another error message)

I have windows 8.1 (i have the win8.1 exe for ever-17 but the problem is the same)

Thanks for the help :kosame:

(and sorry for my poor english)

For Sharin no Kuni check if the files aren't set to read-only mode.

Also make sure the folder it's in doesn't have any characters with accents like Ö, I think this can also cause the game not to open because it can't find the file path.

Change your OS, I think that will help.

No, seriously, Windows 8+ is bad for VN's.

About the others, if you downloaded them, you shouldn't post in here about it D: but if you bought them, you can ask for help with the developers'/store's websites

Well, Windows 8 is known for its common compatibility problem with some softwares, mostly the old ones. Here's some VN troubleshootings:

1. Try to play it in compatibility mode for Windows 7/Xp.

2. Make sure to check your files, uncheck read only on their properties if you find some read-only files.

3. It's a golden rule for VNs so you should've known it but I'll tell it again, play those VNs with Japanese locale (not ntleas/applocale/applocale/locale emulator, they're not always working). If you got it by installation, make sure you install the game with Japanese locale too, since some games unable to write the right file names with other locales.

4. If your drivers are old, update them.

5. If it crashed/freeze/show a black screen while playing videos, install some codecs using K-Lite codec pack or CCCP.

6. Some games need a certain font, make sure you've installed them before playing.

7. If you have problems installing in C:Program Files or any default installation folders, try to install it in another folder.

8. Sometimes you need to deactivate Windows DEP/ User right management for some games.

9. Somes games' files could be detected as malware/trojan by antivirus programs, add them to the exception list or disable your antivirus protection for a while and see if it's really the cause.

10. And if there are still problems with your game, try to ask the game developer.

It's funny how people say that and I have never had any problems. I had no problems with those VNs that he has problems or with other VNs that are from 1995-2005. But maybe I'm just lucky :P

I think i'm gonna cry

Have you tried all ten troubleshootings? It's too bad if you have tried them all but still no luck.
