Evanukon Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 A while back I realized that my dvd collection of True Tears was about 140$ now so I quickly rushed to get it back from a friend I lent it to lol. So just wondering what you thought of it if you've seen it Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 It was cool until worst grill won. Nuff said. Evanukon 1 Quote
Stray Cat Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 So. Much. Hate. Honestly, this is the worst anime I've ever seen in my life. Here is my view on every single character in the show aside from Noe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9j3HQmwqPM&index=24&list=PLSSHL9XETepuDohx2_uz8VyUd7eDbbQkE Seriously, what kind of show has the take home message "The good finish last and get screwed over." 0/10 Never again. EldritchCherub Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Basically, a story about people unable to properly express their innermost feelings, thus leading to misunderstandings, thus leading to unintentional love triangles and other miscellaneous events that could have simply been avoided if someone (Ex. the protagonist just said, "Yes, I like you" or "No, I do not want to participate in that festival for reasons). It's a pretty average growing up story centered around teenagers who are just barely learning to communicate effectively. If average visuals, questionable actions, and characters who stumble on the way to adulthood are your thing, then sure, perhaps this anime is for you. I watched it once, but I don't think I'll be revisiting this anime anytime soon. firecat and Zalor 2 Quote

Stray Cat Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Well, that alone isn't a negative thematically speaking. It links in with what Eldrich was saying though. It wasn't a tragedy and supposed to happen, it just happened for no reason what-so-ever. I have a serious rage-hate of this anime. Stronger than I've felt on any other show ever. Evanukon 1 Quote
XReaper Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 absolutely hated the anime & raged about its ending. Stray Cat and SaintOfVoid 2 Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 The problem is that the anime goes nicely up until the last few episodes where everyone turns into an edgy emo teen and the anime collapses on its feet. It was average at best, I would never consider this the worst anime I've seen, far from it, but that ending leaves an awful after taste. Evanukon 1 Quote
nohman Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 It is an anime about children, though. As for me, I didn't care for it. Not exactly my favorite kind of setting or tone and I found myself feeling a little frustrated when I watched it. Quote

Evanukon Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Did any of you enjoy the artwork or design of characters ? Would you say the story was original to a extent ? Quote
XReaper Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 the point is, that the whole pseudo drama evolving around your non-immouto doesnt justify the following break up with noe & throwing her literally away like some garbage. this left me with a really disgusted feeling, beacause you (the viewer) are meant to identify yourself with the mc, thus you are the very worst. Stray Cat Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Did any of you enjoy the artwork or design of characters ? Would you say the story was original to a extent ? Artwork was the only decent part about it. Every single character was terrible aside from Noe. Every. Single. One. It was original in the same way that walking into a 4 star restaurant and ordering a sirloin when later the waiter brings you out a plate of his own vomit is original. Evanukon and XReaper 2 Quote

Eclipsed Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Never watched, but based on the discussion so far this anime should be renamed True Rage huh Fiddle 1 Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Eh, having a shitty ending doesn't inherently make the entire show terrible, I thought it had potential to be a decent/average dramatic love triangle. And for the most part, it was doing fine, but given the crash at the end, I'd say it makes this anime in the 3-6/10 range. There's waaaaay much worse shows that are bad from the get go and finish off even worse. True Tears only scratches the surface of that. Quote
