What actually happened isn't a big mystery, it's public knowledge. He went to law school, and spent/is still spending a huge amount of time studying as law school is an awfully time consuming thing.

Yeah I know it's just some people love to just think translator be they ones who do light novels, web novels, anime, manga, or visual novels have to give them something be it a patch or a chapter, once they start a project and that really demotivate people who spends their free time doing it. I mean once Insem life at law school was over and he had ample free time in his future work schedule he might have started a new project or resumed Dracu Riot if no one was working on it, now after all these insults I wouldn't blame him if he never translate anything again.

 

The feeling of entitlement is often an ugly thing.

 

Also, chances are if he got work as a lawyer, he probably wouldn't have much time for anything at all. I know quite a few that are expected to work from morning, till about 7-8 at night. After this their brain is pretty much mush, but maybe if he used his law degree as a complimentary tool in a different line of work (like politics, politicians probably have loads of free time ohohoho,) he might have had some time on his hands.

Hey RedJacK, can you send me the file where I can edit all the mistakes (also with a tutorial how to open/edit it if it's not a simple file format)? There are quite a lot of mistakes, though most of them are just letters missing at the beginning of a sentence, a dot missing from the end, a Japanese character left in or a lower case letter where it should have been a capital letter. I'm currently using patch3_73, at 5 - 4, and only two sentences where I would actually like to change word order.

 

Anyway, thanks for doing a great job, really do appreciate your work. x)

Guide to editing Dracu-Riot! patches (Version 1)

  • Install Python 3 (the programing Language)
  • Download ks.scn_tools.7z from here
  • Extract it to a folder
  • Read the Readme.txt
  • Mess around with “krkrxp3_example.bat” (Instructions later)
  • Run “krkrxp3_example.bat”. It will extract the patch
  • The extracted files are usually in a directory called “scriptfiles”. It’s mostly *scn files.
  • Find "extract.py" and change all instances of "cp932" to "utf-8"
  • Run “dump_scripts.bat” It will extract the *scn into *txt files.
  • Edit the text files. (NOTE: Keep the line structure exactly the same, otherwise bugs happen.)
  • Save, Save, SAVE. Or better yet, use Notepad++
  • Run “insert_scripts.bat” to insert the edited lines back into the *scn files
  • The edited *scn files are in “/scriptfiles/inserted/”
  • Copy those *scn files into “patch” directory. If directory doesn't exist, make it.
  • Run “make_patch.bat”
  • Voila, your own patch (Rename it).

General guidelines to follow

  • Everything relies on Dracu-Riot being installed in the Program Files Directory (as if it installed from a disk).
  • Change the INSTALLDIR in "krkrxp3_example.bat" to the directory where DRACU RIOT is installed

For advanced tweekers

  • The other *bat and *py files are for image manipulation. Use those according to the readme included.
  • You can extract game files as well. Just put the relevant line in "krkrxp3_example.bat"

What! Even more notes

  • This will not work with Staircase Sub's patch. They use a different encryption
  • You can tweak practically anything in those *bat files. Can also mess with the *py files for interesting results.

Ermm i dont know if it is just me or not but it seems like from 8.1 -> 8.6 is completely not edited and the 8.6 patch is even lighter than the other previous pack . What the heck !?

 

Well yeah, RedJacK just translates it. I'm editing it currently, for what its worth. Nothing miraculous, just correcting some mistakes here and there while reading through Miu's route myself. At the moment 2/11 (I assume it's 11) files have been edited (until the beginning of Chapter 5-5). Also I don't really plan on editing H-scenes, maybe I'll just quickly look over them.

 

Also about the 8.6 patch being smaller, he might have deleted some/a lot of comments from the files (dno really, haven't checked yet xD), which would make it lighter, or maybe Japanese characters take more space than English, who knows? Anyway, if it works then no need to worry about it, right? x)

Dang, I need to up my game. Only did 1/11 files so far even if i had a head start. Make sure you read the original Japanese as well. Found some weird (mis?)translations when reading through it.

Unfortunately I can't read/speak Japanese (only understand bits when they talk), which is why I'm only editing this. x( If I could speak/read I would have either read through all the routes or started translating it already.

Odd. You sure you patched the 7th update right?

yep i downloaded like 6 times , maybe more ...

The 1.5 mb patch right ? or maybe it doesnt work with the elina patch i dont even know anymore

Edit : it stopped at the part where yuuto and miu got informed of the riot which is the same as the 6th patch

there's a tiny error in chapter 5-5, during the second fake date between Miu and... the protagonist... Yuuto right, forgot the name for second. anyhow She  says "If i think about it, I'm always being swung by Yuuto" then we get a flashback to all the times he's touched her... so i'm pretty sure she means "touched" instead of "Swung"... pretty sure, though i'm not really up to date on modern slang.

 

and then shortly after that again it says swung, instead of touched.
