Decay Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I heard Legends of Heroes is either unfinished or the rest of the games are not translated, so I'm trying to stay away. I may check out The Last Remnant, but I don't think it's what I'm looking for. Mostly want a narrative driven game with game play elements. Would that still be an RPG? With Trails in the Sky, It's a little of column A, a little of column B. The Legend of Heroes franchise is a sprawling series with many entries, most of which are not translated. Most of the entries are a part of smaller sub-series that tell their own tale disconnected from the rest (but still set in the same world). Trails in the Sky is not the first LoH game but is the first good one to be translated, and also a really good introduction to the setting. It's also a two-part sub-series, with part 1 being translated and part 2 being released in english later this year. It's really, really good and a strong narrative experience with solid RPG gameplay. It doesn't end on that big of a cliffhanger, imo, so you shouldn't be worried about playing it without the sequel being released yet. If you want a narrative driven game with some gameplay (but not much, not enough to be obtrusive) then maybe you want Telltale's recent games. Start with The Walking Dead Season 1. It's phenomenal, one of the best narrative experiences in the history of games. Requires zero experience with the setting going in. edit: Also, your steam link doesn't seem to work. Make sure you're inputting the username used in your profile link and not your current display name. I found your profile anyways and I see you've played TWD. Well, try Trails in the Sky, it's a solid RPG. It will probably be 50% off at some point in this sale. BookwormOtaku 1 Quote

Zodai Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I'm at 30$ on my end, though 7 of that is still pending from the CS:GO refund. Quote

Deep Blue Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Neptunia should be played solely for fun, not for story. a consoles war represented by cute anime girls? there is no better plot than that Quote
Funyarinpa Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I'm pretty much done but I did finally get myself Alien: Isolation (thank you based upperclassman), actually that is why I am done. Also I had an inexplicable rise of two dollars or so in my Wallet today, with which I bought the first Sanctum, which is great. (HOPEFULLY) FINAL LOOT Deadcore (Courtesy of Nohman) The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Alien: Isolation + Crew Expendable & Last Survivor DLC Sanctum Sir, You're Being Hunted Refunded, then used the money towards A:I DLC. Hotline Miami for a friend. Quote
Stray Cat Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Wow, Five Nights at Freddy's actually does a really good job at mood setting. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Fantastic opportunity to buy DLC for Rome II: Total War. That full priced game in which most of the content was released at a later date as DLC. Things like Sparta, for example. Outrageous. To think this game was the reason I upgraded my entire PC, only to end up annoyed at it and hardly playing the game. Additionally, I'm pondering whether to buy Terrarria or to save the 2 and a half euros. Quote

Flutterz Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 BUY. IT. NOW. It's basically a more interesting version of Minecraft with an actual reason to play and more than one boss. If you do end up buying it and need help getting better equipment through boss fights (the early ones are really hard), hit me up on Steam, I can help you fight bosses. Umm, excuse you, there are TWO bosses in Minecraft. And yes, buy Terraria. Easily the best $2.50 you can spend on steam. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Has anyone here played Terraria on the Vita? How is it? Quote
Flutterz Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Has anyone here played Terraria on the Vita? How is it? I've heard it's shit. Or at least was when it came out. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Well, I guess Terraria has an avid fanbase if nothing else. I was more or less aware of what it's about, I was more or less worried about whether I would feel like playing this kind of game. Either way, I got it now. Quote
Flutterz Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Awesome. Send me a PM with your IPV4 address when you're ready to do some boss fights. Just a warning: I will 1 or 2-shot almost all of the early bosses because my equipment is fairly late-game stuff, so if you want a challenge, try the fights by yourself (with all of your money stored, of course), and if you can't beat 'em, I can come in as reserve and finish them before you die. Had to have a friend help me almost all the way to the Wall of Flesh, so don't feel bad if you need help. The bosses aren't really designed for soloing unless you're already past the level of equipment they give. Quote
Flutterz Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 How the hell did you solo The Twins without that much difficulty? They're still pretty hard for me to kill by myself, and I can take down The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime with ease. Admittedly, if you grind for gear long enough you can beat just about anything, but that takes the fun out of it. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Lots of megashark ammo and gravity potions. Not having completely shit gear also helps. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I haven't even started it yet but I already know how this will go. I'm such a hoarder I'll never use anything I have and then I'll cease playing because it's too difficult. Quote
Stray Cat Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I did end up buying SkullGirls and the DLC. Tokyo School Life is 45% off: http://store.steampowered.com/app/320760/ Also, how's One Way Heroics? 69 cents seems like a steal if it's decent. Quote

I thought One Way Heroics was nice, though I didn't play it for too long. It's good every once in a while I guess. Quote
Decay Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 One Way Heroics is pretty fun and a good way to waste some time every now and again. You probably have to like roguelikes to like it, though. Quote
Flutterz Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Ooh, Pillocks of Eternity is on sale. If you like D&D-ish RPGs it's probably worth buying. Quote
