Charlotte Episode 13 is actually quite comedic at the start.

I'm inclined to increase my opinion of it, just a little bit though.

Seeing Yu fumble about speaking English was funny and totally worth watching.

Speaking any type of broken language really is funny and comedic.

Prisma Illya Finale Pretty great show. Might be best show of season for me.

Charlotte Finale

Accurate description of the whole series.

The man on the floor is Charlotte

And the people getting sprayed are the viewers.

EDIT: Deeper Analysis

They expected something

and got something

but not what they expected

Oh Charlotte, why did you have to shoot yourself in the foot so hard?

Well, I already expected this Angel Beats-esque ending from the way things were going last episode.

I doubt they could have done anything to save this plot.

In my opinion, after they saved Ayumi, and maybe even before that, the anime just kind of fell appart by trying to scale the plot up so abruptly.

The introduction of Yu's brother and the entire gang as well as the time traveling stuff just made the story more convoluted, and then turning everything into a world wide conspiracy just didn't feel believable. I couldn't care for most of this newly introduced cast either, and after they made us care for Ayumi so much, the show just sets her on the side because it needs to do better things.

The romance was corny, forced and just the cheesiest type of plot device. I really didn't think they needed to add it to the story since all it did was give us the "It was hard, but because of you I managed to live".

I guess Key will always be Key.

I felt that they shouldn't have went for an anime with such a large cast, Ayumi had so much potential to be a decent main heroine, but the show just wasted her character and then focused on the president after she was saved. Nao really didn't have any relevant presence other than being Yu's love interest at the end and helping him when he was down. She just never felt to me like a big presence.

I found her really boring most of the time to be honest and the ending didn't make her any better.

The first half of the show was also pretty terrible, with nothing consistent really going on, it felt more like filler episodes than anything else.

That really didn't contribute to the overall experience.

7/10, Key should remake this into a VN again in the future. Honestly the last episode gives a familiar vibe similar to Rewrite....

Too rushed for its own good, although I could say the ending is executed amazingly, the premise of the ending itself... sucks...

I would've wanted to give a 5/10 but I like what the last ability that Yuu plunder. That's quite a nice touch. Oh and the still frames of the flash cards and the very last frame of the episode.

But nonetheless, 7/10 would be mostly from the art and soundtrack perspective...

Oh well it's quite a fun ride. Key should really consider making a 24-26 episode next time instead of 12-13. Either that or stick to the VNs.

Lol... And Rewrite got an anime announced.  And people are excited for it... Lol...

:wahaha:  :wahaha:  :wahaha:  :wahaha:  :wahaha:

Either way, seeing Charlotte shit itself gives my ego a massive boost considering I basically said from the beginning that it was going to be bad.  Down with Key!

As for Prisma Illya, I am disappointed they killed the tension at the end of the final fight.  Now that they have done borked that ending I'm wondering how they intend to make the transition to 3rei now.  Either way, Spring 2016 hyyyyypppe.  This show clearly isn't selling on loli factor anymore and is only getting more legit as the story progresses.  This is good news for us.  It means we will likely get to see the entire series animated and added to the annals of completely adapted series that seem to be oh so rare.

G-g-gatchaman! Best anime of the season hands down. 9/10 would want a third season now~

Aaaaand Illya ended with loli fanservices and a season 4 announcement... of course... (or should it be season 3 since the next season is actually Drei?)

Nobody was excited after they saw 8-bit is behind Rewrite adaptation.

I'd hardly call that ending loli fanservice.  It was a SoL bonus chapter in the manga.  They didn't really do any real fanservice with it.  The closest thing to fanservice in that ending was the kiss, which is actually the brick joke we were all waiting for at the beginning of the last season that they cut.

And from the people in the discussion thread, it seems people still look forward to it minus Down and Nosebleed.

I'm honestly scared to see how badly they will mess up Rewrite's adaption.

Rewrite's use of "Changing the future" is pretty central to its whole plot and we all know how badly Jun/Key messed up Charlotte's 'Rewriting' the future theme.

Not to mention the usual difficulties of adapting a VN with 5 Heroines into an Anime Series focused on just 1.

I'm guessing the easiest adaption is to put Kotori as the main Heroine and not include the "Moon" and "Tera" story arcs into the series.

24 Episodes focused on Kotori's route(Which is the shortest) could end up decently.

EDIT: Oh and I say 5 Heroines because I serious doubt Key's ability to successfully portray Kagari as the true Heroine of the VN. Plus her route includes all the time-leaps and jumps.

Yeah so if Rewrite comes out with random time leaps and jumps and a bumpy plot

I'm going to be really pissed off.

I'd have to assume that there's going to be a 2nd season. Too many things left unresolved.

I'm hoping so... they announced in this episode the second season for Nanatsu no Taizai. But nothing on continuing Arslan =X

Gate's a pretty fun anime. Kinda reminds me of 1632, a novel written by Eric Flint, but instead of modern Japan dominating a magical medieval world, a small group of modern Americans dramatically influence 17th Century Germany.

I don't know why Gangsta was 1 cour, it was initially listed as 2 cour, and it definitely feels like it was made to be 2 cour, so I'm not sure what happened there.

This was no conclusion at all which leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Regardless, it's definitely one of the better anime this season with pretty nicely choreographed action scenes, lots of mafia shennanigans, and manly men doing manly things.

Sadly, the conclusion leaves a lot to be desired, but I have no doubts this will likely spawn a sequel.

If it doesn't spawn a sequel then this anime just becomes the seed of what could have been something great.

It was really fun to watch either way and I just hope it will continue soon enough.

Charlotte:

The ending was good-ish. Well first of all I didn't like the whole world-saving and sudden shift after we spent 10 eps on Ayu. Really the whole thing would have felt more well executed and balanced if it simply ended on the 10th ep. The random death in ep 11 and the sudden shift in focus in ep 12 was too random and didn't fit the story. The romance also got a forceful level-up and become too cheesy, Yu-Tomori dynamics was good before but .....

Overall my thoughts on Charlotte is same as Nosebleed and I'm also giving it a 6.

Arslan Senki:

I'll write a more detailed post on it later but just saying that I reeeealy liked the show.

And the last episode definitely gave a clear sign for the second season. It would appear that it was popular in Japan and also that tonnes of source material is left so we can expect a second season soon.

Also

Arslan x Estelle Etoile

nope my mind can't see him as a girl, so it feels like yaoi and that hurts ......

That last Gieve scene   :kosame:

Will see Gangsta tomorrow.

So Arslan Senki might have 2, 25 Episode Seasons?

Or will the second season be 13 episodes?

either way I hope Arslan x Estelle/Etoile somehow works out.

If not theres always fanfics and doujins. :makina:

So God Eater's last couple of episodes were delayed(?) until Winter. It was pretty bad, not sure what I expected from a game adaption though. I'll probably still watch them, just to finish it.

10-13 is in winter which means...

Well even I thought that there'd mostly be a 13 episodes season.

After searching around a bit, I was surprised to know that the anime had in fact covered till volume 4 of the novels and there are ........

.....14 volumes in total ..... yes 14.

Anyways my thoughts on Arslan Senki

First of all I appreciate the fact they knew what they had to do from the very start. From the very start it has been clear that the story is about how Arslan became a king, The whole is about the journey and not the end result, it's not 'what' but 'how'. For me this was a good refreshing experience as I was just tired of anime trying to seem unpredictable and using sudden crappy plot-twists.

The place where it gets a 10/10 is it's characters. The whole cast and their development is just great. Each and every has depth and isn't some lifeless stereotype. Arslan in particular is a great character and watching his development has been a  wonderful experience. From the first episode where you wouldn't think that 'the pampered boy' could actually do anything useful to the end where it's just natural for him to be "Your Highness".

All his companions and literally everyone has really good character dynamics. Gotta love the buddy interactions of Daryun-Narsuss and Gieve constantly hitting on Farangis.

The pacing throughout the show has been well balanced, each of the parts were shown with quite a bit of detail and nothing felt rushed.

The music is good, I especially liked the parts where Gieve plays the music. The animation is good, it could have used a upgrade though. Who knows perhaps next season it will, if it gets a bigger budget.

Overall I rate it 8/10

Really loved to see all the characters grow and Arslan's Legend unfold.

Wow, 14. So maybe it simply continues when they recapture Pars and start the story of Arslan as King, and it deals with the neighboring countries and such? I can't imagine how they would have so many novels otherwise.

Sure they can, if they are willing to go old school on the series.

You know like Ruronin kenshin and yu yu hakusho.

Which i think you can imagine probably has somehting like a 0.0000001% chance of actually happening.

well i don't think this adaption is worht it anyway.

Because while i can see a great story behind it, this series has a really nasty habit of getting bogged down a bit to much in the wrong place.

Well, Arslan Senki is slightly old o:

But still, with them already on their way to Pars, I'm not sure if they could stretch it that insanely much without the show losing all its sense.
