Vokoca Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Slowly got to the end of Muramasa Chapter 2. Hmm. I'd have to say I'm most interested in the main character. The others don't interest me nearly as much atm, though they do build the setting. Oh, and the "route-close" event scared the crap out of me. Kageaki is probably the most interesting MC I've came across so far. And the rest of the characters don't really get the short end of the stick either, as long as they're important enough. Had the urge to play something really dark at 3am in the morning, so I started up Saya no Uta since everyone mentions it when it comes to dark stories.... Wow. (snip) Despite how it looks, Saya no Uta is a touching story rather than a gorefest; or maybe there's just something wrong with me. As for the second spoiler: It has been ages since I've read it, so I don't really remember, but maybe she was just confused? Since he got into the same condition as Fuminori was in? Could've made her hesitant to kill him. Quote
garejei Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Kageaki gets even more interesting as the story progresses. Especially after Chapter 5. And in the fandisc (Janen Hen) he pretty much becomes The Ultimate Badass. Would post pictures but that would spoil the surprise. Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I know for sure he wrote Nagisa and Afterstory. I could be wrong, but he may have written Tomoyo as well (having a hard time finding an info source to verify). It'd be a lot easier to tell if I read the work myself since he does have a very distinct style of storytelling (he's one of my favorite writers). Quote
Kururin Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Just Finished Sharin no kuni :3 (The story was awesome) going to pick up steins;gate and looking forward to play imouto paradise and cocoro@function Quote
yashasupercow Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 current playing my girl friend is a president BTW guys about the dracu-riot.is it still death Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Haven't heard any kind of news about another group wanting to pick it up. Damn shame since I'm really interested in it as well. The manga had an abrupt ending (which is to be expected since it's a manga adaption of a VN), but it did cover enough ground to get me interested in the VN. The girls are cute, and I think the premise is interesting as well. All we can do at this point is pray. Quote
yashasupercow Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 i'm starting to lose hope, damn it.Those dracu-riot girl are adorable! Quote
MDruidd Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 current playing Grisaia no Kaijutsu, Marathon Quote
Blizzard884 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 yayay finally started Hoshizora no Memoria Wish upon a shooting star.... so far i like it! Mare is super kawaii Quote
DawnWolf Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Finished Saya no Uta. Crazy stuff, ending 1 and 2 were really good, crazy, but a nice love story at the same time. Ending 3 though... well they had to get a bad ending somewhere. Honestly the game wasn't really scary (outside of a few really tense moments early on), so much as it was creepy and twisted. I especially thought Yuminori's character development over the course of time was astonishing. Good game, Gen Urobuchi too good. Quote
ServeTheServant Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Took a break from Koihime to quickly play dysfunctional systems pt 1. It was pretty decent, but super short... Hope the kickstarted episodes are longer. I'm super bogged down in Koihime, I might drop it. I think I like the setting and don't dislike the plot, but there's just SO much H. Quote
appido Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I'm reading Hoshizora no Memoria right now. I finished Asuho, Komomo, Kosame, Aoi, and I feel like I'm near the end of Chinami. I'm really excited to read mystery girl and Mare's route. So far I'v liked all the routes with the exception of Aoi, who was painfully annoying for 3/4 of the route. I can't get enough of Okaizumi's shiiiiiiiiitt and Komomo's reaction, it cracks me up every single time. Since the sequel isn't translated in English yet, I'm going to try it with a Chinese patch. I'm not fluent but I studied it for 4 years so hopefully it's easy enough to read to still be enjoyable. Quote
InSoulFallen Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 HarvestOverRay Trial , all charas are likable, the setting isnt avg future settings are always good and finally GIGA a chara-ge with content to entertain me will wait for full ver Quote
Dizzyworld2 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Finished Torta's route in Symphonic Rain yesterday. If I have to be blunt, Symphonic Rain hasn't quite met my expectations. Torta's route was heartbreaking but the feeling wasn't as strong as I expected. Other than that, I've been reading Irotoridori no Sekai recently. Reading a Favorite vn again reminds me how much I like their system, especially the changes/zooms lol. Quote
shigufumi Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Playing Corpse Party right now and its really frustrating when i end up in the BAD end everytime....though there's a walkthrough its awesome to play this without one... Quote
Ezeefreak Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hi, i'm just starting Grisaia no Kajitsu ... And waiting for a fully translated Miyako Route in Majikoi Quote
Funyarinpa Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Some part through Episode 5 of Umineko. I really do not know how to feel about this VN, I can't compare it to anything else. Quote
Bolverk Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Started reading Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no. Really liking it, I was suprised how high quality it feels. I am already in love with the BGM, the art and writing is nice as well. Even more shocking for me was that this vn was made by Pulltop... Oozora did not have this feeling. Well they made it 8 years ago almost, so I suppose that's part of it. I started reading this vn because I needed a short break from SubaHibi, I am currently in the Chapter "Looking-Glass". I am not really in the mood to read the cruel parts of the vn. I am going to read it more later ofc. I'll note down my thoughts of Suba when i am done with it... Quote
Darkshine Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Just finished G-Senjou no Maou, I say this one really touched my heart. In the epilogue of the story I was literally having a heart attack. If Fate/Stay Night was my craz favorite then this right here just blew it down to number two. Truly a masterpiece both the story and music really got my blood flowing and ensnared me like no VN has ever done before. Quote
Yin Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Playing Dies irae, somewhere at chapter 3 Strangely, I've played a lot of unstranslated VNs using ITH + ATLAS, but this is just... unreadable. Despite the comedy/school life path, I can't understand more than 50% of it, lol. Maybe I should just drop it and move on to the another one... Quote
AceAttorney Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Finished G-Senjou no Maou and Steins;Gate recently. Spoilers for both: G-Senjou was a fun, thrilling experience with some really good twists even if it had a few silly plot holes/conveniences. Ending was satisfying. S;G was one of the most consistent VNs I have ever read. There was never a point where I felt the VN "slowed down" and I was constantly interesting in the story. The ending was godlike, I almost cried tears of joy at future Okabe's little speech. :') The reunion between Kirisu and Okabe at the end was obviously emotional as well. Starting up Remember11, I feel like getting some more mindscrew. Quote
Vokoca Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Making steady progress in Kanae's route. Liking it so far, though not sure what to expect from the new people/twists they're building up - seems like the story won't go how I thought it would, again. Well, that's what makes it fun and keeps it from being repetitive. Also, all those battle choices! Loved that part. Only... if that opponent was who I think it was.... damn. :S Playing Dies irae, somewhere at chapter 3 Strangely, I've played a lot of unstranslated VNs using ITH + ATLAS, but this is just... unreadable. Despite the comedy/school life path, I can't understand more than 50% of it, lol. Maybe I should just drop it and move on to the another one... Haha, I can imagine - I got traumatized by Senshinkan's prologue, and I imagine this is no better. Quote
garejei Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Yeah, you should probably consider dropping it and coming back to it later when you've improved a bit, I think. Dies isn't really worth reading if you don't understand that much of it. Much of the enjoyment comes from Masada's writing, so if you can't appreciate that, I don't know what the point is. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Just finished Tomoyo's route in Clannad. While there was some small bit of drama toward the end, this route was still mostly comedy. I enjoyed it, but I'm not getting any particularly strong feeling towards the VN yet. I am starting to wonder if I may just not be a good fit for Key's stuff though. I hear people praise Angel Beats! from time to time, but I only thought of it as mildly amusing at its best moments. I thought the sentimental portions of the show fell pretty flat. Quote

Nah, I think you just haven't read the better parts of Clannad yet. I for one wasn't impressed by Angel Beats! at all, but I loved Clannad as a whole, Refrain from Little Busters and Rewrite. I've also read Kanon, but that, outside of one outastnding route (Mai's), didn't really get me either. Quote
