SanadaShadow Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Um, yeah. Your VNDB currently does not exist. Quote
HMN Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I think that, with Yuuji, it's mostly preference. I prefer the dude who analyzes too much and misses the point, or the overthinker. In my opinion, Yuuji fits right into that boat. It helps that he's kinda like Kotarou, from my favorite VN Rewrite. However, I can't say the same about the other characters. Amane ends up being ridiculously clingy by the end of the prologue, I'm not encouraged to take Michiru's route (ever), Yumiko seems waaaay stereotypical, so I'm not too interested in her either (although I still wonder how she avoided arrest), Makina is nice but I didn't like some of her characteristics, and I hated being unable to get a Chizuru route (Another Rewrite name Lol). Now, this list leaves Sachi out, because I liked her, but not as a love interest type, more of a close friend type. I wanted to know more about her, not get into her pants (Or is it skirt?). at least yuuji isn't the kind of protagonist that keeps getting insulted during the VN and doing anything about it , the thing i most like about him is that to every big problem he has a simple solution it's refreshing to see that kind of protagonist Quote
SanadaShadow Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 But wasn't Kotarou like that too? For one thing, I can't think of an easier solution than his for the problems he faces, and I'm quite sure that most of his decisions are spur-of-the-moment. Try to remember he was brainwashed so all the tactical smarts are now gone. Quote

For me this is something i do not like about him, that he can solve every problem so "easily". I'm more with protagonists like Riki (LB!) who has to work hard to success. If you know what i mean. SanadaShadow Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Well, I thought that Grisaia was all about Yuuji's backstory clashing with his personality in the face of love. Quote

Ezeefreak Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 But i don't judge you for your bad taste ... Just joking... I respect and accept that a lot of people think Grisaia is great, but unfortunately that doesn't work for me Quote
SilverLi Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Um, yeah. Your VNDB currently does not exist. Yes I know ^^ I really should fix it soon. Quote
Vokoca Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 at least yuuji isn't the kind of protagonist that keeps getting insulted during the VN and doing anything about it , the thing i most like about him is that to every big problem he has a simple solution it's refreshing to see that kind of protagonist Oh man, tell me about it. I'm reading Reminiscence at the moment, and the protagonist in that story constantly gets verbally abused by the people close to him, and he just takes it all as a joke no matter how bad it gets. And it got to te point where it made me legitimately mad, , it's really annoying. Yuuji is a great protagonist in my opinion. Sure, he might seem too capable at solving everything, but you'd be just looking at the surface of his character then. He's completely broken, more so than the rest of the cast - and while he might solve the problems the girls are faced with, the way he does so definitely isn't ideal - and with all his problems, I can easily see the story going somewhere where Yuuji wouldn't be able to do much. He may look too strong, but he has plenty of rather severe weaknesses. If you want to see a too strong MC, read Akatsuki no Goei - his only weakness is literally that he just can't sleep in the dark, but on the other hand he's able to beat up 30 thugs at once while having high fever. And he's the best MC ever for that. But hey, opinions. You can enjoy the more bland protagonists too, or even the completely incompetent ones. As a matter of fact, I liked Chaos;Head's main character, and I'm most likely in the minority with that. Quote
appido Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I just finished Sharin no Kuni and trying to think of what I should play next. I'v already finished G-senjou no maou, grisaia no kajitsu, Katawa Shoujo, and Hoshizora no Memoria. Quote

Ceris Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Started up Hoshizora no Memoria and think Chinami is pretty annoying so far Looking forward to more though. Quote
appido Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 try majikoi it's a great VN i'm sure you'll like it! I tried it out for about a hour or 2 and really liked it but when I found out the true route and miyako route weren't finished I stopped. It would drive me crazy if I couldn't finish the VN, or at least read through the true route. Started up Hoshizora no Memoria and think Chinami is pretty annoying so far Looking forward to more though. I hated her at first but she became a lot less annoying after the beginning and eventually became my favorite character. The first couple scenes with her is really obnoxious though. Her route is really good too, well except for the h-scenes which were way too awkward. Quote

SanadaShadow Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I don't even fucking... remember who Chincinatti is. All I even remember from Hoshizora is how much I hated Mare. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 @appido Try Rewrite [Commence shamelessly promoting your favorite VN despite having played better] Quote
SanadaShadow Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I'd rather have her switched with Michiru for funniest route, because the only people who would want her were the ones who liked her... unique brand of humor. I personally thought Makina would be even deeper. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Finished episode 1 of Koi ichiro Chu! Lips...and near the end of it I've encountered one of my most hated tropes: the heroine's annoying interfering friend...maybe I'll skip Misaki's route Blizzard884 1 Quote
Ezeefreak Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 After the "Grisaia-Disappointment" i now just started G-Senjou. I think i really will like it from what i've seen till now. I like kyousuke, all the other characters and the whole setting. So I'm looking forward to the next hours Greetz Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Two points for G-SNM. It really doesn't matter what path you take in which order, but I recommend Tsubaki's route first and Haru's route last. It's an amazing VN. Second, try not to use a walkthrough for this specific game. It's just strangely fulfilling. Quote
MDruidd Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 still playing Soukoku no Arterial., i've finished Angel Story (Only Mehisha Route) and Devil Story (Sayane Shiina/Harem Route) now I'm still in Devil Story in Akira Route Quote

Second, try not to use a walkthrough for this specific game. It's just strangely fulfilling. Haru Route is Best favorite of course, because that route is True Route My Favorite route in G-SNM Quote
Ezeefreak Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I'm still undecided which route i will go first, but that haru is last that is fix. I think i will simpl,e go with the flow an do what i feel to do. Quote
MDruidd Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I think i will simpl,e go with the flow an do what i feel to do. beautiful words well, just play with what you like., if you can't decide, then Read Mizuha route Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Well, I said Tsubaki route first for a reason. It's the first route accessible in the game, and has the least background information for the story. Also, Tsubaki is fan-fucking-tastic in the VN. Quote
