I wouldn't say should, but I'd probably just be making excuses. I'm not really what you'd call an observant person.  Stuff like that flies over my head until someone points it out to me.

My track record there is so-so sometimes obvious thing fly over my head other times I notice things that may not be that apparent.

To get the topic back on track I'm currently playing Rewrite and I'm loving the common route, I've only played until the Kotarou first meets Akane but I'm enjoying it a great deal.

So I'm still with Katawa Shoujo... I just finished my 4th route with Lilly's. I've to say it's the best till now (by far). Before I begun I thought that Lilly's route might be a boring one (based on the impressions I had of her in the other routes). But I'm so glad I was wrong ;). I loved her personality and the whole route felt so honest, i really love that stuff. Also Lilly looked adorable at the CG's (not like the other ones ;) ).

And the story...

It almost broke my heart as Lily moved to Scotland

;) ... My mind goes WTF!? I thought that should be a good ending and why the hell Hisao does not do anything against it?! ... In the end it was than predictable, but whatever I loved that.

EDIT: Am I the only person here that thinks Kanon's voice is absolutely adorable?  I mean, I can see it starting to get annoying eventually, but right now I think it's really cute.

I know right? Everyone seem to hate Kanon's voice for some reason. I find it really cute though, especially when she calls herself Non-chan.

I'm still at Chapter 1 of My Girlfriend is the President. I'm kinda lazy busy right now.

Most of Emi's route is hilarious.  That gym shed h-scene  xD  You'll know it when you get to it.  It's infamous.

Welp, so far I think Tsubaki and Kanon are absolutely adorable.  I plan on doing their routes first.  I keep expecting Tsubaki to go all tsundere because of the VA  lol

Kanon's voice is great, it's a mixture of aloofness and sweetness. I didn't know it wasn't liked that much though. Also be prepared for the Tsubaki twists Zeno.

I have never seen someone praise Kanon's voice here on fuwa actually. Even if someone talk about it, they would usually say something like her voice is annoying, etc. Well, I'm not the most active member out there so I might missed a thing or two when I'm not looking.

Well I usually like the voices most people find annoying, for example Makina from Grisaia and Chinami from Hoshimemo.

The same goes for me. I haven't played Hoshimemo yet but judging from the "Onii-chan Onii-chan Onii-chan" video I quite like her voice.

Wut...I have to admit, Chinami's voice annoyed the hell out of me.  It was more the sheer repetition of Onii-chan! (x3) that made me start thinking her entire voice was irritating than anything else, but still.

Yeah, same here.  I mean, addition to talking in third person, she uses a nickname for herself when she's happy.  So cute!

I hadn't actually heard someone say she had an annoying voice, I was just guessing, really.  I figured that either people would love it or find it annoying, which seems to be right on the nose.

I'm scared...are the twists on the level of Sharin?  Those twists were crazy.

Guess that's a nice change of pace for me, then.  Most of the VNs I've read so far are only really slice of life with a focus on romance (aside from Kajitsu, which just does whatever the hell it wants), so having some mystery and plot twists thrown in there should be fun ^_^

EDIT: Haru: "Sorry for being on the cute side of disgusting."

I think I'm going to like this VN a lot  xD

I know My Anime List has it.  Maybe I'll try to get VNDB's staff to try implementing it.  Couldn't hurt to try, right?

Wow, no surprise you don't remember much of them.  I'm starting to forget a lot of Grisaia's common route, and it hasn't even been a year since I read it.

Posted

That's pretty scary, you're taking the words right out of my mouth.  I have a hard time even remembering names for up to a week after I meet someone.

Well, I made a thread on VNDB suggesting the addition of a "Date Added/Finished" option for VN lists.  Should I also email VNDB about it, or do you guys think that'll be enough?

Posted

I don't have any experience with VNDB's staff at all, so that's why I asked.  I know some sites' staff pretty much never see suggestions unless they're sent directly to them, but I was a little hesitant to send them an email, since they already have a discussion page.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Anyway, so I'm not derailing too much, who is your favorite character and/or heroine from G-senjou?  I'm kinda curious  :3

You mean Gonzou?  He sickens me.  I mean, sure, like you said, Akabei knows how to make good villains, but man, I can barely listen to him talk without feeling disgusted.  Guess that just means that Akabei did a good job, though.

Just passed the last choice before I can start working towards Tsubaki's bad end.  I'm going to feel like a terrible person when I finish it, I just know it.

In some ways Tsubaki's bad end may make you want to hate what "you" have done to her.

Kinda figured.  I mean, obviously Kyousuke feels bad about what he's doing, but he's still doing it, so that doesn't really mean that much.  Sure, he doesn't really have a choice if he wants to live, but again...doesn't make things any better.

But even so I like Kyousuke's character a lot, I just seem to like broken and contradicting characters, makes them more realistic I think.

I finally wrapped up Grisaia yesterday morning by finishing Michiru's route. The shortest route ended up taking me the longest to finally getting around to completing, but I liked it overall. If I had to rank the routes I'd go: Amane > Sachi > Michiru > Yumiko > Makina. The middle three are pretty close in how much I enjoyed them really. I'm inking out a partly lengthy set of thoughts on the entire game in my free time between classes. Might end up posting it in Down's topic if I'm satisfied that it's coherent enough. Cause if it's one thing that Fuwanovel needs, it's more discussion on GnK.

I also decided to go ahead and finish the common route + Chisato on Koichoco before I move onto my next full game. It's been like two weeks since I booted it up, so I'll probably just reread the thing from the beginning.

Congratulations on finishing Grisaia. The only route whose rank I don't agree with you on a personal level would be Makina's, but I have ranted on Down's thread about it already.

That's pretty much what I thought, except I switched Makina's and Michiru's routes.  Really didn't like Chiruchiru's route.  I know I've said this over and over and over again, but

what turned me off about it was the sudden departure from exaggerated but semi-realistic possibilities to pseudoscience. The theories of body and cellular memory have almost no proof supporting their existence, and most of what proof there is is weak at best. Like someone said before, Michiru's route would fit better in a Key novel, not in a VN that never breaks the rules of science and realism (aside from bending realism to make things more interesting).

How'd you like Sachi's bad end?  I seriously started laughing because of how ridiculously bad it was.

Michiru's route didn't really faze me. I knew beforehand that a lot of people had issues with the nature of her split personality, so I sort of expected it to be as silly as it ended up being revealed. Also, since she was my last route I was already numb due to the numerous other eye-rolling moments in the novel. Given how impossibly extraordinary the entire cast is and the number of coincidences that take place, a hefty dose of pseudo-science didn't really bother me. The moment that personally took me entirely out of the VN was the whole devil in Yuuji's arm thing and his bloodlust being kept under wrap by suggestion. It's initially suggested to be a delusion of his, but given how certain events in Makina's route plays out it ends up being ambiguous.

I actually ended up liking Michiru's route. Like Yumiko's route, the bulk of the route leaves something to be desired. The endings to both are their saving grace.

As for Sachi’s bad end:

Discounting Yumiko’s  “bad ending”  since it’s not really one, I’d say Sachi’s bad end is the least quality bad ending in the game. Michiru’s bad end is poorly/arbitrary connected to her choices, but it’s still decently creepy despite how bare bones it is. Sachi’s is just an abrupt accident followed quickly by the title screen after a few lines. It was like they put in that ending only because they had to have one.
