Personally, I think it depends on the story. In a lot of cases, I think it's extremely out of place. Like, I feel like G Senjou no Maou didn't need H scenes at all. However, something lighthearted can have them in without feeling too out of place. Then there are the in-between cases, where the sexual content is actually relevant to the story, I think those are the best situations for H content.

Like, in Katawa Shoujo, (Hanako's route, at least) they end up using the H scenes as a means to show you how completely fucked up and broken the relationship between the MC and Hanako is. And in Grisaia, Amane does sexual stuff out of deep-seeded guilt she feels.

But then you end up in situations like Fate/Stay Night where the H content is not only completely unnecessary, but it's also just disturbing.

 

Well to be fair the H-scenes in F/SN were just shoehorned in and they were badly scripted, even Nasu said that. But as it was said in many other threads, especially the H-scene thread some months ago, it's down to personal preference. I, for one, think they are necessary because it helps give a sense of intimacy and confirmation of the relationship, in a 3D POV. But that doesn't mean my POV is superior to your own on an objective level, although as a human being I'll always regard my POV as the correct one, that doesn't mean that there's even such a thing as a correct POV. So that is to say that because this operates on a subjective level we are both right.

On 4th trial of Dangan Ronpa 2.  I am disappointed so far.   Chapter 2 was the highlight and Chapter 3 I had figured out in 5 minutes.

People don't go looking for interesting and immersive plots in pornos, so that's not much of a surprise    Was it pretty much made for shock value, or was there some underlying message in it?  Considering that it's a nukige, I think I can answer that one myself, but still...

There's going to be a Tears to Tiara 2, iirc it's going to be a playstation 3 exclusive and it will be much more of an RPG than the first one. Also it won't have 18+ content since it's a console exclusive.

well you know i'm off that buyers list for sure. Lack of H scenes i can tolerate (not fucking really i'm raging) but why PS3 exclusive?

I know, console exclusives are kind of annoying. They're too difficult to make fan patches for, and I believe localization companies would have to go through extra hurdles to license them.

Well, all the mysteries so far are more interesting that in the first game's at least, I'd say. Just finished the third trial myself, and I'm in ultimate despair.

I just finished Touka's chapter of Sharin no Kuni, and wow. This game is really something. I still prefer Sachi's so far.

 

Natsumi is the heroine I'm least interested in so far. I hope they can turn me around on this one.

Ehh, I thought Natsumi's chapter kinda blew.  Too much emotion without any real action until the end, and then it's the next chapter.  How'd you like Touka's chapter, though?  When I finished it I was too pissed to talk about it.  Really upset me, which is good, I guess.  Can't provoke that kind of emotion if it's badly written.

Well, I've made a little progress into Comyu, and so far, the only character I'm interested in is Kagome. Why is the best heroine always the true heroine, and locked until you finish the other routes? D:

As the game progress Mayuki became my favorite, and I usually dislike loli characters. 

I have not progessed very far in the story yet, but so far kagome is my favorite.

yeah to bad, and the baka tsuki page for the rest is kind of dead for now altough there is one novel translated wich is the one that was not yet adapted into a anime.

Just finished the Zero saga in dengenky stryker, fun game, liked how the game has many animated sequences, the opo is nice as well.

Well I actually like 18+ content, sure too much of it just ruins the experience, but more often than not I find H content fulfilling(in a non-sexual way mind you).

I'm similar. It's strange. When I actually get to a H-scene in a VN it always bores me, and I tend to skip by it disinterestedly. But generally speaking I still prefer seeing the "18+" tag there. It's hard to explain, maybe it's because that rating represents a lack of arbitrary "limits" as to what can happen. Also some non 18+ titles can ignore the existence of sex in relationships entirely, which is a little awkward.

 

I would be fine with a 16+ game that directly acknowledges sex as a thing and jokes about it unabashedly (e.g. Grisaia), but doesn't show the H-scenes themselves. They still happen and people act accordingly, but it just fades to black. I found most of Grisaia's sex related talks hilarious, and far more entertaining the the H-scenes themselves. For me a lack of restraint in conversations and general content is more important to me than visual H-scenes.

Finally through Meiya route in Muv Luv Extra.

 

Finally, I am halfway through that trash.

 

The route got pretty good towards the end actually, with a few heartwarming or sad moments, and surprisingly, a meaningful H-scene. After ctrl-skipping through half the game, I also got Marimo's H-scene. On to Sumika route!
