Zhiroo Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Just started Harukoi Otome. What a coincidence after I previously finished Comyu, another protag called Akihito. Also that Oikawa 'bloke' looks like he's gonna be annoying as fuck on a scale of Kenji level of annoyance. Quote
TexasDice Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Prepare yourself for long stretches of nothing in every single route. Harukoi doesn't deserve the art quality it has. Quote
Snowtsuku Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Characters were too horny for me. I loved the first part though. Quote

XReaper Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 you´ll know pretty soon if the restoration patch is working fine, first scene is when kotori is bathing/drowning. if you see some boobs then congrats, if a towel appears...meh Quote
RinXD Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Still playing shikkoku slowly but surely getting through it Quote
Zhiroo Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 wayyyyy too much pointless drama in this vn, prepare for the worst in yuikas route. I mean the art and stuff is quite nice, the charas also look fine to me, BUT every single rout (maybee except the samurai chick) has so much drama init, it becomes overall depressive while playing. no joking! I suggest you should NOT play yuikas route directly after your little imoutos one. Thanks for the warning I'm most interested in the Samurai girl anyway. Quote
TexasDice Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Interestingly, her's is the only route I haven't touched, so I can't say anything about it. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've played it and I can say it's decent, though its story conflict is extremely cliche. Quote
Eclipsed Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 So I finally finished Neko Para. Was reading a chapter or two a day... not really much to say, but it was pretty fun to play. Now it's time to go back to Sharin no Kuni~ Quote
TexasDice Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I left the horror, which is known as Da Capo, after wrapping up my route and advanced to the sequel. In hindsight, I'm glad I did so though, because the connection eased me into the Da Capo 2 really easily. For some reason. But BOY, it's so much better than that part 1. Better art, all sprited characters are atleast likeable (mfw I learned maya doesn't have a route) and the pacing isn't all over the place (for now?). An amusing thing that happend to me, was when at some point a support character complained about the girl magnet trope: And I was like: "... Oh yeah, her!", after realizing I hadn't seen the girl in question ever since the last scripted meeting about two hours prior. I completely forgot she exists. Quote
Hakamichi_Sajaki Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Finished Nekopara vol 1. 18+ ver. ... Sweet zombie Jesus that titty bouncy slider! Quote

TexasDice Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Hrrm.. so would you say it would be better for someone to dive into DC II right away or first suffer through the 'horrors' of DC? To be fair, it's not awful Sakura Spirit. Just really, really boring. Until it starts to dive into what can be called the "plot", then it becomes boring AND confusing. non-plot revealing spoilers; Step sister Nemu's route was used for continuation purposes and Sakura is probably the most important character in Da Capo, so you'll probably fine reading either of them. As I said, I'm glad I did read one route, because I was able to enjoy Da Capo 2 more. But at the same time, I put about six hours into not having fun. Eclipsed 1 Quote

It was scrapped I think. Quote
TexasDice Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Always seeing the best girl in the non-route part of the opening, is the true meaning of endless despair. Quote
FinalChaos Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 A little help people. I made a thread in the recommendation but couldn't get much replies. I want to play a vn which has a dark protag or has revenge as a major theme.By dark protag I'm mostly indicating to ones who aren't like the general protag who helps literally everyone. All suggestions are welcome. I don't know japanese so only translated ones. Quote

SilverLi Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Currently playing Kamidori Alchemy Meister. I am in love yet again. I am more of a rpg guy I think. I can still enjoy an ordinary VN but I think I enjoy it more with gameplay. Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 You just can't grind enough man. I'm level 99 in one game and I still play. Why, oh why? Quote
FinalChaos Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Danganronpa might be your cup of tea, for you really want to uncover the mastermind when/if one of your favorite characters die or kill. The protagonist is very *bright and hopeful* though. Probably not what you are looking for, but there are some non-con nukige that might fit the term of "dark protagonist". Umineko's certain moments might be fitting, but certain moments only (ep 2 tea party comes to mind). Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Well I'm definitely not looking for a nukige. As for Danganronpa, I don't have Vita and god knows where my psp is ...... Use an emulator. PPSSPP is great for these kind of things. Quote
