Chronopolis Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Started Murasama. The presentation, sfx, and graphics are very well endowed and feel seamless. The robots which are cg I'm still undecided upon though. The prologue difficulty is ridiculous, but after that it's bearable. I think I have a soft spot for the pre-post war modern japan (e.g. time setting of kara no shoujo) Bolverk 1 Quote
ServeTheServant Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 First 15 mins in one word: *Bam*. My face in that moment was seriously stuck in shocked despair D= Quote
Soradragoon Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I finished Zero, Heaven and Sky Saga in Cho Dengeki Stryker. It was pretty damn awesome and now I'll do the rest so I can move onto the next VN. I'm going to start it just now, It's really so damn awesome? Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I'm Actually Playing Shikkoku no Sharnoth, even if it's a linear story, i really like the story, even if it's unclear for now, as well as the Steampunk London. Quote
Berilium Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I'm going to start it just now, It's really so damn awesome?  Well don't take my comments too seriously xD I like it but that's how I see it. Heaven and Sky saga were the best (Zero was meh) Quote
Vokoca Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Just read a little bit of Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi when I tried if it works properly, and it seems like it'll be just the kind of mindfuck I like. Now I have high expectations for this. Â Anyway, almost done with Anzu's route in the AkaGoei fandisc. I have to say, it paints Kaito in much darker colours than the other VNs do - there isn't really anything new in there, but with it all being described in detail and as it happens, you get to see just what kind of person Kaito was brought up to be. And it's not nice. I'm glad I read it though, I feel like after reading the parts with Akira, the last parts of Shuumatsuron will be even more enjoyable. Quote
InSoulFallen Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Finished Soukoku no Arterial very time consuming indeed took me nearly 1month to finish that saying i played 6-8hrs when i have the time hunting cards drained my time lol i think if id sum my play time id be 150+hrs or more  synthesizing stuffs here i think is much more difficult than Kamidori the gameplay is nice easy to get used to.thou i heard it was bashed because of it whats wrong with card battles really? i guess people are really just into SRPG stuffs.  Atori (best route) Sayane (best girl) only thing i disliked was how Mehisha didnt have the proper development.Anyways the story was epic surpassed Kamidori the game play isnt for every one thou for me id keep it in my HD like forever.  Started Boku ga Tenshi ni Natta Wake it started off well im still at chapter 3 and im liking it so far Aine is Hilarious.its going into that depressing state as each chapter pass well it is a Utsuge Quote
Vokoca Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Finished up Anzu's route in Akagoei's fandisc. That was longer than I thought it would be! The ending was really sweet - but well, I'm just glad I can get back into Shuumatsuron now. It's time to finally find out who that awesome woman with purple hair is. EDIT: W-What the... this route just started and it already feels more epic than anything up to this point! And that OP! Ahh, I don't know if this is the true route or not, but I now see why it was locked. This... this had better be good, it got me really hyped. Really? From what I've heard from several people here, Michiru's route was pretty bad because it didn't make a lot of sense.  Heard that same thing about Yumiko's route, too. I was actually planning on doing it that way. What a coincidence!  So far, I'm liking Michiru's route. Seeing her in full dere mode was quite a shock, though. "Can I cuddle you?" Man, that was cute. Yeah, that's exactly what I've meant. But if you compare something entertaining but out of place, and something poor and fitting, I think the former is better. Quote
Chocolat Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I've started Girlish Love Revolution, I hope it will be fun! Quote
Zhiroo Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Yumiko's route was definitely better than Michuru-sama's imo. Â I'm currently reading Symphonic Rain going for Fal route first (I'm a slow reader by nature but I'm doing it even slower since I get distracted by other stuff at the moment ) Quote
Blackex Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Just finished Da Capo 2 now deciding what to play between Sharin no Kuni, Koi iro, A Profile and Otoboku Quote

Well, don't take my word for it, you might enjoy it a lot. And it's not like the route is downright terrible or anything, it still has its highlights - it's just the weakest of the bunch in my opinion.  Speaking of Michiru, her seiyuu is voicing this murderous psychotic character in the VN I'm reading right now. It's... pretty weird. Quote
monkeysrumble Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'm through Misae, Tomoyo, Yukine, Ryou/Kyou and Kappei route in Clannad. They were all pretty enjoyable. Â I'm almost done Kotomi's route and in my opinion this route is SO boring. I can't wait to be reading After Story. Quote
SuperWaffleNinja Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 i'm currently playing harukoi otome, i finished sonja's route and i'm now halfway umi's route Quote
ServeTheServant Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Finally finished Clannad + After Story... I want to take a break from being sad and play something really light now, haha. Quote
Wahfuu Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Haven't finished it yet, but I got through enough of it to know that it's really not that great. I mean, dafuq? "Michiru, I love you, so I'm gonna stuff you into a coffin, pretend you're dead, then bury you alive until you realize that you really want to live." Sachi's "saving" was just as ridiculous, but at least that made sense. She wouldn't have realized what she needed to know otherwise. I really think Michiru's situation didn't requite such drastic measures. You know, the possibility of her starving to death or dying from dehydration. It's a shame, though; Michiru's whole situation intrigued me, but the direction the writers took with it killed it for me. Not surprised it got retconned after all. I hope her route in Meikyuu is much better. Her route in meikyuu is pretty damn funny. But, uh. Yeah, i find it funny that The nicest thing Yuuji ever does for Michiru in her own route is have her buried alive. #1 antagonist protaginist. Quote

Didn't bother me that much. Despite being the weakest route, I still found it very good. I think the whole point of burying Michiru is to make it convincing enough for her friends to believe her death. Come to think of it, the primary factor of Michiru's closure is not being buried, rather reading what her friends have to say about her passing away. Admittedly, the route would've reached the same conclusion regardless of whether or not she gets buried since her friends had already written their letters, so that was a tad bit overblown... Quote
Gav Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Just downloading Grisaia no Kajitsu as it seems to be being mentioned everywhere I look! Are there any VNs that it is similar to? Don't know what to expect. Quote
Berilium Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Don't know what to expect. Â MC Badassery my friend. One of the reasons of why I am learning japanese it's so I can play the sequel, you can imagine that. Â Similar to Grisaia? Don't know...G-Senjou no Maou maybe? You'll have to play that VN after all, it's a must. Quote

BookwormOtaku Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Finished Benio's route yesterday, decent route overall though the ending kind of feels like it only occurred because the plot ran out of steam. Quote
Vokoca Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I thought I'd take a break and just read listen my way through a different ending of AXANAEL to end the dayy off, but instead of the expected short one, I've stumbled right into the true ending! I was wondering why the plot was suddenly getting more interesting. But even with the amazing production values and the better climax, it wasn't anything absolutely mindblowing. 8/10 in the end from me. Well, the true end saved it, was a clear 7 before that. Anyway, the next Nitro+ thing I'll read will most likely be Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi - I am still too afraid of Muramasa and its language difficulty I heard about.  Also played some more of AkaGoei2 before, got to the first choice in that last (?) scenario. I think I can now confirm that reading the Anzu route in the fandisc before continuing ended up being a great idea - the route relies on it quite a bit so far, so I knew exactly who certain characters were, what random utterances were referring to and it just added much more context to things altogether.  Just downloading Grisaia no Kajitsu as it seems to be being mentioned everywhere I look! Are there any VNs that it is similar to? Don't know what to expect. Akatsuki no Goei is pretty similar, when it comes to the protagonists. But Kaito is even more badass than Yuuji, however impossible that might seem at first.  Just finished Michiru's route...it felt like it was written by an entirely different group of people than the other routes. Looking back, it wasn't necessarily bad, it just didn't make me feel the way Amane's and Sachi's routes did. I gotta say, though, I was disappointed that the other Michiru's presence was because of a heart transplant. I was guessing that she legitimately had Multiple Personality Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder (in fact, the way she acts makes that last one seem incredibly likely, and apparently BPD is most likely caused by traumatic childhood events), so I was a little put off by that. It just doesn't seem realistic, or very fitting with the other routes in the game. Yep, that's exactly what I was referring to. Even with the different feel of the route and odd character behaviours out of the way, the whole silly magical transplant personality seemed like something out of a KEY novel rather than this. Grisaia is supposed to be realistic, not magical - and no, hearts with their own soul definitely aren't realistic no matter how I look at it. That said, I hear they might've "fixed" this in the sequels. I haven't read Michiru's route yet in Meikyuu (or even touched Rakunen, for that matter)--and just in case this is true, to avoid spoiling--so I won't be sharing the details, but there's that possibility. BookwormOtaku Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Just completed Hisoka's route...it was interesting but in comparison I like Benio's route a little better as that one was more fun to read while Hisoka's just left me exhausted by the end. Quote
