Vario Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Swan Song - bad ends. Well, I liked it. Didn't think that the bad ends will be so long. And this is a good thing. Not often you can see something like this, when the game is not like "you have made the wrong choice" and then you die. And vn is pretty depressing. Especially, when you start to think about the nature of people. But well. I expected something like this. And all of those h-scenes... ^^" Quote
Funyarinpa Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I started I/O. (Revision II isn't a sequel or anything, right? It's just a remake of sorts, right?) Damn, that OP song is the best I've ever heard alongside Remember11's. For comparison's sake, Remember11 OP: Quote

Ezeefreak Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I loved all the girls when I read it ~~ I was the same way I was kinda intimidated at first because the way it started but it was amazing once I stuck to it. Some of the fight scenes I thought lasted a little to long but that's probably because I'm not a huge fan of them. If My Hearts Had Wings so far has filled my heart with joy ~~ I'm doing Kotori's route first and it seems pretty long (which I like). For some reason her h scenes got my heart way more excited than I normally would be (recently at least) and made me do this everytime. @LiquidShu It seems we have quite the same taste of VN's. KonoSora isn't so filled with story but somehow it's really heartwarming and has a great atmosphere. Thats why I love it so much. Without the restoration patch you not only miss the h-scenes also a lot of funny stuff (like the morning after the first h-scene with kotori, well technically it's also a h-scene ) Now I'm really into Ayakashibito... Well it's Chuuni what usually isn't my kind of genre I tend to like. But the characters are all so great that it's unavoidable to love it ... I also don't like to long fight scenes but can endure it here. I'm really looking forward to all of the hours of reading who are following. Quote

I even warmed up to the twins and all the characters making it that much more enjoyable ~~ Can't wait to see what the other route's have to offer. I doubt they can beat Kotori though. Maybe Ageha but that's just because the power of child hood friends lol Quote

I really like Amane's route and Yoru's route and Asa's and Ageha's... You see I love them all ... Quote

Didn't even notice anything really in Kotori's route and I was advised to wait for the patch so hopefully Ahega's route isn't as dreadful as claimed. I will be starting it tomorrow wish me luck ! I think he will not have so much problems... You just have to accept that fact and follow the flow of that VN ... If you're not willing for that or just can't handle such easygoing VN's you will be screwed But I think he can... Quote
Tyrael Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I can't remember anything about KonoSora being 'too hard to handle' and I'm a big softie so... but yes I did cry a bit Quote

Though the few screenshots that I have seen are really wrong. Quote
Vokoca Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Ageha's route was the only thing I read from KonoSora, and it made me not want to touch the entire VN ever again. Quote
Tyrael Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Ageha's route was the only thing I read from KonoSora, and it made me not want to touch the entire VN ever again. One subpar route hardy counts as a sufficient reason to drop a VN, imo. Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 One subpar route hardy counts as a sufficient reason to drop a VN, imo. From what I've heard, it's only subpar in terms of translation, not in actual content. Quote
Ezeefreak Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 From what I've heard, it's only subpar in terms of translation, not in actual content. Thats mostly right. Another problem is that the all aged version cut a lot of scenes out which are also necessary to understand a lot of this. In the end it's a great VN but not everybody like that kind of smooth and light hearted VN. (I think that's enough now to KonoSora here ) Quote
Tyrael Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 From what I've heard, it's only subpar in terms of translation, not in actual content. Ah, forgive me for my mistake, I read it with the help of a japanese language tool so I never experienced this kind of problem. I found her route to be rather excellent myself. I feel bad for the people who got stuck with Moenovel's horribly butchered product. As for myself, I have been wrapping up Grisaia No Kajitsu. It's looking like Amane's flashback sequence 'Angelic Howl' might very well be the best thing about this VN. I'm thoroughly impressed with it so far. Quote
Vokoca Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 One subpar route hardy counts as a sufficient reason to drop a VN, imo. Yeah, but then again the common route didn't seem to have anything going for it either, and Ageha's route, despite how bad it was at times, seemed to conclude the entire story rather well. The art is nice for sure, do the other routes have anything more, though? Quote
Tyrael Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Yeah, but then again the common route didn't seem to have anything going for it either, and Ageha's route, despite how bad it was at times, seemed to conclude the entire story rather well. The art is nice for sure, do the other routes have anything more, though? Ageha's route provides the most background info while Amane's route is considered the 'true' route (since it has an epilogue). Kotori's route is probably the best one, as I found it quite emotionally gripping, I think this would be the route most people would call their favourite as well. Sadly, the twins' routes were kinda bleh (this was the main reason I 'only' gave it a 8.3/10 on vndb). I also heard Flight Diary is actually really excellent so I'm slowly trying to improve my Japanese in hopes of being able to read that one as well some day. And yes, the art is absolutely gorgeous too (oh Amane, your smile could immobilize armies I'm sure). PS guys: What should I play after finishing Grisaia No Kajitsu? I think I need something light hearted now Quote
Vokoca Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Oh, I see. Well, I've heard good things about Kotori's route, and I would be lying if I said I didn't find her cute, so I think I'll give KonoSora another shot. Since I'll be re-reading it anyway, I'll just go with the original version to save my eyes from the terror that is MoeNovel, perhaps that'll improve the experience a lot. :x Tyrael 1 Quote
Eclipsed Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 @Tyrael interesting that Amane's route is considered the 'true' route in KonoSora. I always considered Kotori the 'true' route cuz of Flight Diary & Snow Present xD Also, yes you should definitely read Planetarium if you want to cheer up cry~ .. Maybe try Neko Para Quote
Funyarinpa Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Started to read route A of I/O. The most interesting thing about it is that what the player sees and the protagonist sees is seemingly different: It feels like as if there are discrepancies in Hinata's memories which he is not aware of. Maybe it's just my own impression though. Quote
