So I just watched a playthrough of the Chaos;Child demo...

Oh god, let's just say that the first scene easily beats the previously mentioned worst scene in Chaos;Head. Easily.

Chaos;Head spoilers

You thought a hand in a box was bad? Hahaha...there are much worse things you can do with a hand. ;_;

I really want to read it now, kami Nitro+ help us!

Well they are makers of Corpse Party, so they can easily do shit and all.

I'm also interested how they'll include some references to others Scentific adventure VNs (in Steins;Gate you get many references to CHaos Head, In Robotics;Notes you can have the most important chars of the other VNs as twitter friends)

And if they can include some of the Chaos;Head chars, it would be great

at the request of my girlfriend.

But why not. I think that nirto+chiral is quite good. DMMd was meh, but I enjoyed Lamento and sweet pool. Togainu is still in my ptr list though.

5pb is a publisher. Not a developer.

Well, they directly sum up the incident that occurred at the end of C;H, as C;C takes place in the rebuilt Shibuya. Delusion-related murders also seem to play a big part, and judging by what I've seen so far the VN does have delusion triggers much like C;H. In this way, it's much more direct with being a sequel than the other VNs in the X;Y series--but who knows if they'll go as far as to bring characters back?

This VN was made in Xone, it's actually easy for them to port it into PC.

It's never "easy", not even from the xbox one. It might have been easier than it was for 360, but it's still a lot of work and would cost them a decent chunk of change to do. I really don't think the chances are good for C;C, 5pb has virtually zero interest in the PC market.

I still can't understand why 5pb is so fixated on console releases while the majority of vn buyers use pc. I mean who the hell buys a console to play a vn.

Nobody buys a console to play a VN, but many VN players have consoles none the less (nobody buys a PC to read VNs, either). I can only presume they've done their research and know the market better than we do. It is entirely possible that most PC-only VN readers in Japan will only read eroge, and that's not something 5pb is interested in. It is also possible that there is so much potential overlap that having a pc version simply doesn't matter if you aren't releasing eroge. Of course, when the console version in question is an xbox one which has a tragically low adoption rate in Japan, they're bound to get lackluster results. It's just a timed exclusive though and there will probably be a PS4 version. At that point, they may ask themselves how many more potential customers a PC version would really reach, and if that would be worth it. Chances are they'll answer no.

Yeah you do have a point but by having an Xone exclusive release they are severely reducing their consumer base. If it was a PC release the number of people would nearly double.

Argh, I didn't edit in time, see the addition to my post. There will almost certainly be a PS4 version, too.

I would really shy away from using absolute figures like "double" if I were you, because the truth is that's just a totally wild guess and we have no idea.

I said 'nearly double'.

Anyways we can only hope..........

I still haven't managed to read anything but Arcueid's route on Tsukihime. Well, I reached Ciel's first h-scene but that was over a week ago and it took me quite some time. I don't know, Arcueid was simply so amazing that all the other heroines lost their brights in my eyes. I think I'll stall it for now.

Playing I/O, it's quite interesting so far.

I solved the anagram for the crossword puzzle in Route A with about five letters to go, was pretty fun (for those who forgot:

it's "HANGING GARDENS"

Edit:

Cleared route A 0.1 ending, kind of inconclusive, but still heartwarming.

Edit II- a question:

Is it possible to go back to any and all endings using the Defrag system? It's stated in the walkthrough that Route E has a bad ending only reachable before you do any 1.0 endings, but it also says something about the Defrag system. I only cleared one ending (Route A 0.1 good ending) so if the answer's a spoiler please say so

And no I do not think this question was worth a new thread

Okay, so basically you can go and get a bad end in a route to reset its defrag value to 0, and this should allow you to see the Solitude ending even after completing the rest of the game. It shouldn't permanently lock you out. This is also why the guide says to not do the bad endings after the good endings, otherwise you'll have to reach the good ends again before being able to finish E. I do not believe anything is truly permanent, it's a pain to reset but it's possible to go back and retrieve "lost" endings while keeping your overall save data. Actually, I find the guide included by Lemnisca in the game's install directory to be better than the Fuwanovel one, as it explains things a little better and gives you an easy guide on how to access the bad ends as painlessly as possible after seeing the final true end.

And yeah, like I said in that other thread, I would not recommend starting route E before getting the 1.0 ends like the guide does. I suppose you'll have to go through some extra hassle by not getting the Solitude ending first, but the story is best experienced by reading the 1.0 endings first.

I'd definitely rather enjoy the story properly and THEN return to the bad endings. Thanks!

Started where I left off on Steins;Gate and completed Luka's route. That was a really good ending to a route i thought was going to be my least favorite.

It was interesting to see what happens when other people time leap from Okabe's perspective. The VN gives a lot of important information that the anime just leaves out.

Da Capo 2 has two sisters and I read them both. Verdict: I (unsurprisingly) dislike both routes. Atleast more than the others, save Koko.

I never liked how the two of them interact with Yoshiyuki throughout the novel. They're both doing their thing over his head and mr.protagonist is just like "well, that's how it is". What am I reading, Ikikoi?

Yume got some points after shifting to dere (and because she's super hot) and Otome is fine, but she didn't hook me.

I'm also bothered by the inconsistent cherry tree.

It should either never "kill" the protagonist or it should always do it. Doing whatever is weird and silly.

The last route is postponed to monday, because I'm getting a little busy over the weekend.

Started Route B in I/O.

(Early Route B, big Route A spoilers)

Ishtar is likable, and Yumi's so cute <3

I'm actually listening to her lines and that's saying something.

That Leader = Ishtar twist was pretty nice.

So Ishtar looks into the crystal ball, sees a VISION, with HERSELF in it, and she doesn't even mention it ever again? What the heck. It kind of feels like the parts in Route A where an eye just appears and some "insightful" text appears to which Hinata does not respond to AT ALL. Also, the place in Ishtar's vision is the car park Yayoi-sensei gives an interview defending Hinata near the end of Route A, but it's heavily shrouded in purple mist now.

I've been going strong! I think I am almost done with Ageha's route in IMHHW. Her route is so good so far... The h scenes in this game are phenomenal imo. After her route is Asa, Amane, and Yoru in that order.

It isn't Dark Souls. It's Aliens: Colonial Marines. (We're talking about Muv Luv Extra, right?)

It's brain-annhilatingly boring and stupid, almost impressively so. You need the luck to get through the two required routes (Sumika and Meiya's) without boring yourself to death. To think some people have played all routes... *shudder*

Muv-Luv Extra wasn't THAT bad, and if you re-read it AFTER finishing Alternative you can clearly see all the foreshadowing that is thrown throughout the story and I am one of those who did read all routes.

The crystal ball thing is a little weird, but you kind of see that a lot in various anime and whatnot, where something strange and inexplicable happens and the character just shrugs it off. Maybe she thinks she is or actually is daydreaming?

If you pay attention, there is rhyme and reason to the purple mist.

Mayuri's route is finished. Time to wrap up Steins;Gate so I can move on and read Hoshizora no Memoria.

I wasn't a huge fan of Mayuri but I kind of wish her ending had a bit more to it. It just kind of felt like a bad end or an incomplete true end. That may not be a bad thing though because of it's placement in the timeline. Now then, unto best girl!

EDIT:

Except for Mr.Brauns daughter becoming a psycho bitch and time leaping 15 years. I wish that was in the anime, that was freaking intense and awesome!

It was intense, but also a little over the top and ridiculous. Once I played it, I could immediately see why it was cut. It felt out of place, somehow.
