Funyarinpa Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 F/SN was quite slow, and I decided to give Chaos; Head a try as well. It is kind of interesting -more so than F/SN right now- but I think the game failed to save my progress just now. Will be progressing with F/SN and C;H. SanadaShadow 1 Quote
Satsuki Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Pointless stats system? Sounds like F/SN to me. Is there really any point to those stats...? I mean, other than to show off just how powerful Gilgamesh and Berzerker are? Nah, actually it's just my impression, since I have no exp with Cation series. According to the game, your stats will change the level of "dere" when a heroine talk to you, unlock new conversations and blah blah, though it doesn't show in the trial. Still pointless though ------------------------------------------------- Just jumped over to Ama Koi Syrups, totally didn't notice that it's practically a nukige. Not even done with the prologue, and the MC already lost his virginity from being raped by his osananajimi. Wow plot. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 ...Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand C;H did not save shit. Quote

It is kind of interesting -more so than F/SN right now- but I think the game failed to save my progress just now. Will be progressing with F/SN and C;H. F/SN has a very deliberate pacing to it. Even when things get crazy, they always break up the action to give us yet another cooking scene. Type-Moon takes their slice-of-life approach to chuuni very seriously, that's their whole schtick. You experience almost every waking moment of the protagonists' lives. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Couldn't get C;H to save shit. I guess I'll continue with F/SN... but C;H was more interesting, I won't give up yet. Quote

F/SN is slow as fuck, so you might feel the need to repeatedly bang your head against the wall near the beginning. This is understandable. You ARE playing as Shirou, after all. If, after finishing the Fate route, you are still reluctant to continue, I would suggest it is better to just stop reading right then and there. Did you make sure C;H isn't in read-only mode? It always caused problems for me because of that. Also, there is a bug in Chapter 6/7 which causes the saves in that area to become corrupted. Other saves will continue to work just fine, but they will be unloadable. You might also encounter a problem with one of the bad ends in that area, in that you will be unable to access it. Ignore it. I have tried every combination, and yet it incessantly avoids that specific bad end. Lol, I've always hated schticks like that. Type-Moon paced itself better in Tsukihime. In F/SN, it just feels rather/ dis/joint/ed and I really don't feel like I wan't to experience being Shirou. His morals are so contradictory, his stupidity unmatched, his power is luck, and his supporter is the only thing that's kept him going for so long. Quote

SanadaShadow Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I AM IN THE FIRST DAMN CHAPTER AND THIS LIL SON OF A BITCH AIN'T SAVING SHIT It's definitely not read-only? Not the main folder, neither the subfolders, nor the files? Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Just finished the first episode of Ace Attorney Investigations 2. Definitely one of the better opening episodes in the series, not as good as Trials and Tribulations' but still really good. Looking forward to what the next episode has in store Mr Poltroon and SanadaShadow 2 Quote

Definitely one of the better opening episodes in the series, not as good as Trials and Tribulations' but still really good. Looking forward to what the next episode has in store While (IMO) it is quite well done, it definitely does not trump AAI1. It has its own great bit, but in the end it subtly screws things over. It's better than PW:JFA and PW5, though. Quote
Getsuya Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Well I just made the final choice in Eustia so there should only be a few hours of story left. After that I just need to read all the little bonus side-stories (they're pretty short) and then it's review time! I'm really excited to see how this story is going to end. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Just finished Hiroyuki's route in No, Thank You!!!; interesting revelations and a decent ending. Starting Maki's route and the new unlocked scenes do make the plot more interesting. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I'm nearing the end of the Heaven's Feel route in F/SN, and reached this gem of a decision which made me smile a lot: SanadaShadow 1 Quote
Fred the Barber Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 So I wrapped up Heavens Feel, but am left uncertain on one point: do I want to see the "Good Ending"s as well as the "True Ending"s, for both Unlimited Bladeworks and Heaven's Feel? I found the endings for both to be delightfully bittersweet, but I also wouldn't mind seeing a happier ending for both routes. So if that's what I'm going to get by doing the Good Ending, I should definitely go for them. And even if they're just sufficiently different, that's motivation enough as well. I just don't want to watch essentially the same thing happen over again... In the interest of not having too much spoiled for me, a simple "yes, you should get those other endings" or "no, you shouldn't" is sufficient Quote

FinalChaos Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I AM IN THE FIRST DAMN CHAPTER AND THIS LIL SON OF A BITCH AIN'T SAVING SHIT It might a problem with the copy you have. As for me and most of the people the only problem in saving is during chapter 6 and 7. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I'm nearing the end of the Heaven's Feel route in F/SN, and reached this gem of a decision which made me smile a lot: --a multitude of conflicting choices-- To be honest, around the time you start nearing the end of the game, the choices become more and more trolly. Plenty of choices like that or a "win game" "lose game" choice, pretty much. At least that's what I remember. Quote
Bolverk Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Playing Hana no No ni Saku Utakata no right now. It's alright. I have kinda problems getting into reading last week or so. So hard to tell how it is, but at least the vn is pretty enjoyable. Ouka and protag's setting, the mysteries stuff is good. Other than that it's not something jaw dropping. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I resumed playing Chaos;Head and I was immediately reminded of its gruesomeness. That experiment scene in Chapter 8. Making someone believe that her baby is alive by thought manipulation and the finally the description about the mom going crazy. That is some messed up stuff. The game sure creates a really oppressive atmosphere. I also really love the light switch sounds in the main menu, I just have fiddle with them every time. SanadaShadow 1 Quote

Mr Poltroon Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Grrrr I really want to play C;H Well, time to retry the torrent I tried to play it but I was having real difficulty getting into it. I have expectations for later down the li, but I need some definite free time so I start playing it again. Quote

LinovaA Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 You ain't seen nothin' yet. I think you are the fourth person now to say those exact words to me. There will be no sleeping tonight! Onward to Episode 3! Quote

I know I said I was going to be playing Baldr... but how am I even going to even think about playing Baldr after that. Also, thanks for the feels Umineko: Chapter 4 is the designated Feels Chapter. Although the short glimpse you get into the life of Maria in Ch. 2 is pretty surprising, to say the least. And that fucking ending. God, I want to reread umineko again even though it's only been six months. I'm patiently waiting for that full PS3 to PC port some crazy russian fan team is working on. Quote
