Yuuko Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 The real plots are all in heroine routes~ Just finished Anzu route btw, look like it's the "true" route, explaining everything about Yuuto's past and the mysterious imouto Nodoka. Anri next~ (But seriously, you should consider dropping it soon if you can't handle the level of comedy in common route, because it will be the same in heroine routes) Quote
Decay Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 This seems to be somewhat of a tradition with Alchemist games. I don't mind it, but it's definitely rather unique. Also I really didn't know that was Hanyuu in the beginning, haha - there writing really made it seem like it just alluded to Onikakushi. Well, Quote
Vokoca Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Ah, I see. Didn't actually read Kai in VN-form yet, so I completely missed that part of the story. :x Ah I can't wait to get to Kai, and the new ending arc specifically~ On Tatarigoroshi-hen meanwhile. Still just at Satoko's route; at the baseball game, nothing bad happening yet. That voice acting during the coercion scene though, oh god I'm dying. I can't decide whether I love or hate Keiichi's voice, but it's killing me eithe rway. On a side note, the TIPS section actually apears to have new entries completely even in the original arcs, since Onikakushi unlocked one featuring a character that I'm pretty sure wasn't in the original Higurahsi at all (forgot her name, but Ooishi's police friend). Also some of the TIPS honestly feel like they're straight out lying to your face. Quote
FinalChaos Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Is Mayo's route just the obligatory loli route, or is it actually interesting? I'm coming up on hers pretty soon, so I'm a little curious. Mare's route in Hoshimemo made me wary of loli routes...it was so bad... the next one. If you try and take it seriously most of the time, you're gonna be quite disappointed. Quote
Nerathim Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Starting Cartagra first character to speak is dubbed by Nakata Jouji ggggnnnnnnn Quote
TexasDice Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I completed Deardrops. Wow, what a ride. That's a 21/10 soundtrack if I've ever seen one. Do I have to write more? Analyzing something I genuinely enjoyed from start to finish isn't any fun compared to trashtalking bad things. Quote
Eclipsed Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 ^You should pull an Abyssal and just rampage some VN thread nitpicking all of its flaws and boasting about how you can guess its predictability and whatnot >.> As soon as I get some recs from my hastily crafted recommendations thread I shall edit this post to say what I have chosen. Edit: Most likely my lighthearted funtime Harukoi Otome. As for my drama+mystery... still deciding b.w Kara no Shoujo and Ever17. Quote
douggle Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Decided on a whim to re-read MLA again after which I will probably finally break down and read Princess Evangile since I DID buy the thing the moment it went on sale Quote
Eclipsed Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 ^what was holding you back from reading Princess Evangile Quote

Eclipsed Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Oh yes of course. It sounded like you had another thing holding you back rather than you having just read another lighthearted VN Quote

Kosakyun Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 ah nah nothing like that, I just put off reading it until I felt the time was right for doing so. Quote
douggle Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Mmm. You know your stuff. Or just hold it off until you have nothing else to do. Quote

BookwormOtaku Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Just finished Gara and Puki's intro story in Bullet Butlers (and that brief ero scene with Rais)...now there's a premise for a cop show I'd watch Quote
XReaper Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 started playing "Reitou Kizakura Ouka no Ken to Madoiryuu Shou"; after i finished "Vizal No Nikki" & was positively surprised by the game. after 5-6 hours i can say i really enjoy it. Quote
suikashoujo Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Finally finished Mashiro Summer after over 2 months of sporadic reading. It was actually a decent game, save for one route, which was kind of awful. It's too bad not many people seem to have played it, because it actually had some unique ideas (at least, from what I could tell). I'm still plowing through Majikoi in terms of English VNs, but I plan to start Midori no Umi as my next Japanese VN tomorrow. Quote

Decay Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 So I started playing Yu-No. Some very early knee-jerk impressions based only on the prologue: I hate the protagonist, and I hate the dialog. I don't know, I just can't bring myself to enjoy the conversations these people have, and the way the dialog is written kind of gets on my nerves. It flows at such a weird pace, and I find it difficult to actually care and I find myself just kind of skimming past it. Overall, a pretty bad first impression. But maybe this is all because it's introducing all of the characters and it will get better once more things start happening. I'll soldier on because this game is so well loved. Quote
XReaper Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 @permagate, without spoiling its about demihumans (elves & stuff), mercenaries, lots of whores, demons & superb fighting sceneshttps://vndb.org/v12869 Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I read Sachi's chapter in Sharin no Kuni, and started the third. I'm impressed how it manages to balance between the bizarre and super serious stuff. And vow, Morita's Onee-chan is kind of awesome and super uncomfortable character at the same time. Quote
Yuzuf Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Started playing Akuma Musume no Kanban Ryouri but it's all japaneses, it's pretty hard to know what to do. Quote
traveler101 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Started Toradora! 5/21 ends and starting yume miru kusuri (heard about this one on the recomendations forum so trying it out for a spin,it looks like my kind of Vn.) Quote
XReaper Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 regarding yume miru, its a short & nice vn, though it could have been way better.with all the serious problems the charcters are facing throughout the story i expected a little bit more. sometimes it felt horribly rushed & the difficulties were to easily overcome. not to mention the non existant sister route, which has been cut out for reasons...
