Kosakyun Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 So I finished Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. The last episode was so long. It took me the whole day to finish. I was playing from 2:00PM to 1:00AM. It took me that long. The last episode was, for me, the hardest so far. I totally got screwed over by the trial where Angel Starr was the witness. Yeah, I got screwed over by the first trial. I was really surprised by how things were going. Who knew that, in the end, Gant would be the killer of both Bruce Goodman and Neil Marshall? It was really nice, all the twists. The scenario kept on being rewritten as evidence piled up. It was also the first time that evidence reached the third page, iirc. My god. It was really great. I also did not expect that I actually needed to let go of Gant the first time I was asked for conclusive evidence. I was also thoroughly convinced that Ema was Neil's killer, due to that cloth with her fingerprint. I was fooled. Fooled, I tell you. It was that exciting. I really enjoyed the ride. Time to play the second one! Also, Blue Badger ftw. Never expected that guy to be based on a jar. Edgeworth and Wright teaming up to show the truth was awesome. Quote
Permagate Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Just finished Hatoful Boyfriend, which is surprisingly good. I'm going to read Lovely x Cation 2 next, my first foray into reading Japanese VNs without Atlas. I hope it's an easy read Quote

Eclipsed Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Ohhh so that's why there's optional H-scenes in Yumina...Context: using the ethereal system exhausts the mind, so how do we recuperate? SEX! Gotta love these half-assed reasons Quote
hsmsful Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Ok I loathe myself for not reading grisaia no kajitsu sooner thinking that if the people say that the common route is long, then I probably should refrain from reading it. The common route isn't that long.... well it didn't feel for me to be that long. I am stuck thou, I am interested in all the heroines but I dunno who I shoukd go for >.< All of them are just adorable Quote

hsmsful Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Amane for porn Sachi for feels Yumiko for a general love story (my favorite overall of the three, oddly enough) did not read the other two yet Well I heard that michiru's route is full of comedy so I might go for it. I wouldn't really want to read the acclaimed best route first (amane's). As for yumiko's route, I don't know, wanna save her for later and I am not in the mood to get hit by dem feels so I guess makina or michiru. Since I am quite more interested in michiru's route and her backstory than in makina's backstory. I will probably read michiru's route. Quote
hsmsful Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 yumiko -> michiru -> sachi -> makina -> amane based on your personal ratings? Quote
Eclipsed Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Ya that was my play order Also based on the common view that Yumiko+Michiru are the losers while Makina+Amane are the winners when it comes to enjoyment of the routes I personally thought Yumiko+Michiru weren't THAT bad and Makina+Amane weren't THAT good, but yeah, Sachi > all ~~ Tch. Got rekt'ed by Chapter 4 boss. Her nukes are ridiculous ._. Guess I'll actually have to grind a bit to gain some levels Misc. commentLOL @ Nayuta's weakness after all the hype her up of being this perfect individual being her flat chest xD Quote

Guess I'll actually have to grind a bit to gain some levels Misc. comment LOL @ Nayuta's weakness after all the hype her up of being this perfect individual being her flat chest xD Can I give you a hint? You should think about how to prevent her attacks entirely. For more detail... Shining Smile. Spam it from start to finish. You will drain green every turn by doing so, causing Nayuta to fumble almost all of her attacks. You will take hardly any damage, can slowly whittle her down no matter what level you are, and will easily have the approval rating by the end. You might want to grind a little for what's to come after that, though. Quote
Getsuya Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Thinking of dropping & and going back to Higurashi instead. I wanted something short and fun after how long and deep Eustia was, but I guess I shouldn't have bought something solely on the reputation of 'well they also made RuiTomo'. The plot in the game is just so... boring. If the characters didn't have such fun personalities I would have given up in the first two hours or so. At this rate I think I'll stick with it to the end of the first route and then shelf it until I've gone through better games. I guess the best way to put the way & feels is they took a short story and tried to stretch it out into a 30-ish hour game. Every time the plot grinds an inch forward it comes to a dead stop as everyone sits around discussing things or the main character sits around reminiscing about the SAME EXACT STUFF AGAIN. I long for the filler in Eustia because at least when that padded out its length it did so with new things instead of just re-iterating the exact same stuff over and over. And did I really need a whole long scene of the main character learning all about roguelike games? Not impressed, Mages. Not impressed at all. Edit: Out of curiosity, how long do you give a VN that is boring you before you drop it like it's hot? Do you move on as soon as it starts to bore you, or do you give it a chance just in case it gets better later on? Quote

Funyarinpa Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 EP1 of Umineko... is done. Some interesting mysteries, yes. Now I'll try to crack the twilights. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I read totono for quite a while today and I've been having tons of fun. I found myself laughing out loud more than normally, even though the humor was just normal. Reading stuff in other language makes it completely different experience. The slow pace isn't bothering me at all anymore. I'm having hard time with some of the lines from Aoi, since the meaning of the words are sometimes kinda hard to understand when they written only in katakana. It doesn't help that I'm pretty bad with katakana in general. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Just a warning (not spoilers or anything, just something you should know before you read Amane and Makina's routes): Amane and Makina's routes have watersports, aka sex involving urine, in their h-scenes. Be prepared. Quote
sarayne Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Just finished Aoishiro it has a great story but the romance was very lacking. Now I'm moving on to Amaranto I hope the romance is better here. Quote

Bolverk Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Completed Totono, this vn was just wtf lol. Seriously. Quote
Decay Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 This spoiler fucking got me Golden shower is called watersports now? LOL I'd piss myself laughing if I heard that during sex (fittingly) Quote
Funyarinpa Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 That's been one of the common ways to describe that for longer than you've been alive. Quote
Eclipsed Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Chapter 6, (starting Yumina's route) Wow, didn't know this VN would pull a Rewrite on me. (Slight plot direction spoilers)"Oh don't mind me, I'm just partaking in my own school shenanigans" for the entirety of common route and then BAM get pulled into this global scale end of the world conflict with supernatural stuff and secret organizations. Oh and SPAAAAAACE!!!! Quote
Decay Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I did not expect that, either. Just suddenly... Eclipsed 1 Quote
Kosakyun Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Started playing Comyu yesterday, and blew a lot of hours on it. I just finished Benio's H-scene a couple of hours ago. I like Benio very much to the point that I didn't want to really see her H-scenes. Part of me wanted to though since, well, I'm a boy. Anyway, that scene made me stop playing for a while, probably because my heart was beating too fast. ...How can I play porn games like this? Anyway, here are my thoughts on the route: The thing is, I'm real excited on whatever's happening in Comyunet. The conflict between the Round Table and Caesar's Legion is slowly building up to the point that it might explode, and I can't wait for the war between them to ensue. I wonder what would happen to the Striders if the two biggest factions battle it out against each other for control of the kingdom? Anyway, things are really getting exciting. I love how the game gave us a taste of El-ahrairah's power. Yeah, Itsuki's avatar. That thing really was powerful. Maybe it's because Itsuki's a Lord and a pure 10/10/10/10 in skill. Compared to Akihito, well, yeah lol. I'm currently wondering if the Bishop class is the weakest of the special classes, in terms of effectiveness of functions. 7/7/7/7 sure ain't bad, but how does it do when compared to the other special classes? Apparently, the Lord can also use the special attack of the avatar, so the Bishop is automatically outclassed. Or maybe it's because a Lord outclasses all the others? Anyway, Babylon vs. El-ahrairah was lackluster, sure, but I'm looking forward to further sorties between them. El-ahrairah must be more powerful than that. Itsuki's an arrogant bastard, so no doubt he held back something. But that special move though. That 'Judgement of E-' something. It completely beat Babylon's fireball attack. I wonder what's the special skill that El-ahrairah holds? If Babylon controls gravity, what does El-ahrairah do? How exciting. Anyway, my problem with H-scenes seem to be focused only on Benio, since I was looking forward to Haru's. This is what I get for not wanting to associate lewdness to girls I like. Oh well. I do hope I get more action here. And also, Girl A, please sing for us once more. Quote
