Ventares07 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Recently finished Hignabana, has anyone else read it? For a 07th Expansion game it seems like its under a rock compares to Umineko and Higurashi Quote

Wonderfullyevil Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Finished Symphonic Rain. My heart. On Al Fine, I felt absolutely drained. Though most of the events were just the same, it really managed to capture Torta's emotions making for a good ride without the need of the ctrl key. Phorni's route was recharging. When Ari woke up I was overjoyed. Amazing overall. Are there more VNs like this? I guess not, but still. Nerathim 1 Quote
XReaper Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 started playing liar soft´s teito hiten daisakusen, still @the beginning and hoping it wont turn into some kind of dissappointment. cant stand those super open end stories, or those where character you´ve grown to like are getting killed after eachother, just for the sake of killing them off. HotTrax Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Chrono Clock don Rei's blind sister Her past self coming back was eh at first but she grew on me. The interactions she had with everyone were sweet. And no H-scenes req? Thank, you. Chronus's ok XReaper 1 Quote

zoom909 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 So far I am very pleased with Noble Works. I hope it stays good. Y'all probably know this game by now, from the ongoing translation project. I've actually had this game a long time, ever since people made a big fuss about Dracu-Riot; now I like the art style of that game very much, but I like ojou-samas better than vampires so I picked this one instead. On the other hand, I put off playing it for a while because I didn't have an HD monitor until recently. (By the way, anyone who wants to buy a CRT monitor, let me know) I've done Akari and next I think I will do Shizuru and then maybe Hinata... Quote
XReaper Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 @hot, yeah that´s been the rolemodel nee-san for me. pretty much enjoyed the novel & grew very fond of its charcters. been also weeping like some baby during most of the story Quote

Funyarinpa Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Higurashi WTC EP1 finished. (COMPLETE SPOILERS FOR ONIKAKUSHI AND ALL ITS EXTRAS (SIMPLY EVERYTHING IN THE CURRENT STEAM RELEASE) AS WELL AS SOME UMINEKO COMPARISONS BECAUSE I CAN'T FUCKING HELP IT) Okay, the build-up was done a bit better than Umineko (because it dragged less) and things got amazingly heated pretty quick. I think some scenes where Ooshi-san is talking to someone we do not see is important. The music was alright, but nowhere near Umineko as of yet. Mion/ Rika best girl. An interesting thing to note is how the photographer guy's corpse was found on a road between Hinamizawa and the town/city, it fits to the "Those who abandon Hinamizawa hath incurred His wrath" message given near the end. Wish we learned a bit more about that woman. Rena's "LIES!" face was pretty scary (and made me sad that I prefer original backgrounds to having VA), so was Mion, the needle and some parts near the end. However, nothing was as harrowing as those original sprites. How the everliving fuck (and recent research has proven that I am not the only person to use that phrase after all) the game originally got greenlit, I have no idea. I liked the extra bit at the end, great foreshadowing it seems- I think we are going to learn something good with Keiichi's character art. I liked the personality shifts as well, and the game went from 7/10 to 8.5/10 after the Watanagashi. Apparently that is the title of the next chapter as well (Watanagashi), so I'll be wating for that. I liked how the higurashi were a more prominent plot element than Umineko's seagulls. As for the character cast, I hope it is expanded. We do not even have ten sprited characters (The four girls, the photographer and his partner/companion and the detective for a total of . Oh well. I'll be looking forward to the next episode. Quote

There aren't nearly as many characters in Higurashi as there are in Umineko, although you still have a few to meet, particularly in the next chapter. :> It'll be interesting to see what you think later on since you've already read Umineko and you'll immediately recognize some of the plot points (particularly the chapter structure). Also if I remember correctly there's a huge Higurashi spoiler in Umineko, although you only recognize it as such if you've already read it. Quote

HMN Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 i've finally finished the forbidden VN aka 3144 #insidejokes, and i'm way too tired to try and process "終ノ空II" ending. anyways, time to jump to majikoi S~ Vokoca 1 Quote
EldritchCherub Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 After a long six months after finishing my last VN I've finally started another one. Reading the fandisc for My Girlfriend is the President. About two hours in and though it's fan service for the most part I'm enjoying it so far. Will probably finish it in a week and go for something with a grittier tone. Quote
Decay Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Is it worth waiting literally ten thousand years for the next chapter? Yes. You probably shouldn't read the old version at all. Quote
Wonderfullyevil Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Started up SubaHibi. I haven't gotten far in, but it's fun so far. I like Yuki a lot (frilly dresses ftw). I was laughing so much when she thought she was getting killed. I can't wait for the darker stuff. Music's really pretty too. I spent a good while listening to Yoru no Himawari during the first scene, and the other tracks too. Especially the one playing when Zakuro's there. I also like Aerodynamics Girls and Boys Poem, though I haven't heard it in-game yet. Vokoca 1 Quote
LinovaA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Played through some more Fortissimo, and man... it loves to remind me of why I am reading it. Every time I start to feel things kinda start to drag on... it likes to kick me in the teeth to remind me that it still has some fun stuff up its sleeve. Most recently: The battle between Reiji and Ryuuichi was some kind of crazy. Like holy shit. Even though we see Ryuuichi's strongest attack before that, getting the explanation where it basically exists in nine different worlds... like what the hell? Gonna kill Reiji in all nine existences? You are one crazy bastard. Then of course, right before the end of the battle we had the amazing OST kick itself up yet ANOTHER notch by playing a remixed version of Angel's Stairs (which just so happens to be my favorite track in the VN) and uses it as a battle theme. Probably one of the most hype things I have ever read. Honestly, I will probably need to come back and read certain parts of this VN again in the future. There are times where I am not 100% sure if I am getting everything, as I am still quite the noob with Japanese, and also times where the language ramps itself up to a level that leaves me feeling like I am only getting the gist of what is being said.
