O. Van Bruce Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 On Hoshizora Yume's route We Steins;Gate now. JUST WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! Let me tell you they completely RUINED this VN with all this fucking SciFi and fantasy stuff that doesn't even make sense. Quote
Undying Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I started playing Clannad, but I dont know if I will keep on, I liked the anime but as a visual novel is not really my style. 2 routes so far Quote
Tom Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 put Yandere on hold for now, i feel like playing the Sono series first Quote
OriginalRen Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 On Hoshizora Yume's route We Steins;Gate now. JUST WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! Let me tell you they completely RUINED this VN with all this fucking SciFi and fantasy stuff that doesn't even make sense. So I wasn't the only one huh? I love Memoria, I really do, but I had a discussion with Steve about this... The game just takes a huge "What the hell is happening?" turn-around once you hit the route. I won't spoil it for anyone obviously, but I was literally just confused. I honestly thought the game was broken. I think -EH- is supposed to expand on this story a little more with the respective routes so it will make more sense at that point, but still. Honestly, what upset me the most with how they formatted this is that Yume and Mare's route are completely contradictory of one another; you can't have one ending without making the other ending never exist. At least the other endings could technically "make sense" to have happened no matter which girl you chase after, but it's hard to decide what is "canon" in the case of choosing between the previously mentioned. THAT is the one disappointment I have with the game. Quote
O. Van Bruce Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 FINISHED HOSHIZORA! 7/10 at most. In my opinion: Read Asuho, Komomo, Kosame, Aoi and Chinami's route. Disregard Yume's and Mare's route. There were so much inconsistencies in Yume's route and Mare's route is just lolicon filler, sadly. Now onto Grisaia no Kajitsu Quote

Now onto Grisaia no Kajitsu Have fun in Grisaia The common route is very very long. I skipped most of the useless stuff in the common. Finished Irina's route in My Girlfriend is the president and i have to say the H-Scenes are yummy. But i liked the route though. Quote
douggle Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Currently reading Muv Luv Alternative... I've been on a bit of a VN spree as of late. Read Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Ikinari Anata ni Koishiteiru, Sharin no Kuni, Sharin no Kuni's fandisc and Muv Luv in the last 2 weeks. I can really blow through em if they are good VNS Quote
O. Van Bruce Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Finished Asuho's route in HoshiMemo. Really loved it <3 She's such a sweet girl, and even though she has some serious self-esteem issues, they contrast nicely with her outwardly bubbly personality, which made her character seem quite realistic. Nothing irritates me more than a 2D character. Like I said before, her being deaf in her right ear really surprised me. Personally, I would have preferred if You himself had ripped up his prayer card with Yume's name on it instead of having Mare reap it, since that would have meant more to Asuho than having someone else do it. Moving on to Komomo's route. Kinda unsure about her character; she's obviously tsundere, but I hope she's more than just that. I think I'd be a little disappointed if she isn't :/ Nah, Komomo is one of the best tsunderes you'll find. And this comes from a person who isn't specially fond of Tsunderes. Quote
Tom Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 finished SonoHana1. It was a great yuri nukige and deserves an 8/10, wished Imouto Ijime was more like that. next up ill finish MGQ3 before moving onto the other sonohana VNs btw anyone knows a nukige romance without any shy / having-second-thoughts characters? Check out some of Mangagamers titles. I'd suggest Softhouse Seals detective one. Pretty okay story for a nukige. That, and the demon transformation also by Softhouse. Quote
Tom Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 will check it out ty and omg that disgust im feeling towards Luka again from mgq3. a shame there is no mute option for him. ill just hav to endure it for Alices sake Quote

O. Van Bruce Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Playing Grisaia... this looks like it will be a fun read. I thought that the supposedly annoying tsundere would be Mishiru but is it Yumiko in the end? Quote
Arturia Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 thought i might continue the Sono hana series so i am on number 3. Quote
Vokoca Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Playing Grisaia... this looks like it will be a fun read. I thought that the supposedly annoying tsundere would be Mishiru but is it Yumiko in the end? It's Michiru, Yumiko is a kuudere. People seem to like Michiru, though the only times I liked her were when she was getting beaten up by Makina. She makes for such a good punching bag character, it was hilarious. Finished Asuho's route in HoshiMemo. Really loved it <3 She's such a sweet girl, and even though she has some serious self-esteem issues, they contrast nicely with her outwardly bubbly personality, which made her character seem quite realistic. Moving on to Komomo's route. Kinda unsure about her character; she's obviously tsundere, but I hope she's more than just that. I think I'd be a little disappointed if she isn't :/ Komomo was not only my favourite character, but she had the most interesting route so far as well. Don't worry, if it wasn't obvious from the common route already, she's one of the much more likeable tsunderes - she's not the kind who gets away with all of her crap just because she might act nice sometime down the line, she's actually a very nice person with just an awkward attitude. She might complain about things, but she actually gets things done... a major plus compared to the rest of the characters, if you ask me. Aoi is her polar opposite, she's the pinnacle of annoying characters. As for Asuho's route, I had this theory that Mare reaping the nightmares was just a metaphor for people overcoming their problems themselves, but I suppose they really are pushing for the magic stuff instead... People seem to like Michiru, though the only times I liked her were when she was getting beaten up by Makina. She makes for such a good punching bag character, it was hilarious. Only 4 hours into the common route I find her funny. And a Kuudere is not that aggresive lol. A kuudere is someone like Sakaki from Azumanga Quote
Vokoca Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I'm at Chinami's route in Hoshizora, and I'm surprisingly liking it a lot so far. The story is really nice - I'm currently at the point where Chinami's nightmare got reaped and we got all the backstory for her situation. I honestly wish it would just end here, because I'm pretty sure I'll start disliking it once it goes into the h-scene territory. :S Only 4 hours into the common route I find her funny. And a Kuudere is not that aggresive lol. A kuudere is someone like Sakaki from Azumanga Well, they do call her a kuudere even in the VN itself. Quote

Yeah, I already got to that part. if they say she's a Kuudere... But man, this common route is so much better than Hoshizora's. It's packed with better humour and Characters are very likeable. My favourite scene so far is on my avatar. Amane is truly a pervert. Not that I dislike it The only thing I don't like is that the story atm is being told in small pieces, presenting an small incident and then moving onto another day and so on. It feels kind of un-continous, like if I were reading a 4-koma manga. Finally about Michiru, I find her funny but it's a bit sad she's a punchbag and gag character until now, Having a self-proclaimed tsundere with the same face as Hachikuji Mayoi is very interesting. Guess I'll have to wait for her route. I don't get why people say they find her annoying. Quote
Guest Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I can finally play ever17 again :,,) Still two routes to go Quote
FruitsPunchSamurai Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Going to start Koihime Musou. Heard lots of good things about this one. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Just finished Rena's route in Tsujidou-san no Junai Road; good story overall, didn't drag out the dramatic parts like I was worried it would, the comedy was as good as always, and it even had a decent bit of action in the climax. Definitely has me interested in playing the fandisk, mainly because I'm curious as to how the Azusa route is even going to happen Quote
Vokoca Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Yeah, so far I've gotten to like her character more. At first she just seemed like she was taking advantage of You and purposely making his life as hard as possible, but she really isn't as mean as she pretends to be, and, at least in Asuho's route, she gets a lot more negative attention than she deserves. Makes sense, but still, I think that it would have meant more. I guess they wanted to have a reason for Mare having a physical presence besides having her own route and being cute. Yeah, reading Chinami's route, they're mushing the fantasy stuff really hard, so you can just write off that theory as wishful thinking. While this fantasy stuff is kind of interesting, I kind of wish it was the same as Umineko's magic instead. Quote

While this fantasy stuff is kind of interesting, I kind of wish it was the same as Umineko's magic instead. The magic stuff gets to a sweet spot in Chinami's route since is magic without any pretentious explanation. At least it was like this for me. The real BS begins in Yume's route Quote

The real BS begins in Yume's route Yeah, I don't mind it so far, since it at least sets the VN apart from regular slice of life stuff, which is nice. Though it's already quite ridiculous with what they've thrown out already as means of reasoning, so I'm kind of afraid of what will come next, now that you mention it. :x Also just got to the first h-scene. Yep, definitely not my thing, but thanks to the so far good plot, it's still way more tolerable than Aoi's route. Quote
