younggooners Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Anyone know why i can't play most vn in my computer resolution? My res is 1366x768, cause b4 i can play them although only with same height with my resolution, thanks Quote
Deep Blue Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 do you see black borders or letter box? that's normal in most vn, there is only 1 resolutions and it will stretch out to fit your monitor because of the dif aspect ratios from 4:3 (800x600 most vn) to 16:9 (your res) for example, you can't make it fit without ruining the proportions so you see those black lines. Sorry if it sounds gibberish I'm really tired and sleepy I can't think straight Quote
XionsProphecy Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Most VN's i've played go to 480P. Some new ones 1280P. So when you have a big resolution monitor there will either be a stretched image, or a black box around the image. Quote
GLM4475 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 It depends on the VNs, some of them are able to be played at 1680 x 1050, some of them have specific maximum resolution (it could be 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1280p, 1360p, 1680p), some of them will have the same largeXwidth regardless of your resolution. If you set your screen resolution bigger than the VN's maximum resolution, as XionsProphecy-san said, you'll get a stretched image, or a black box around the image, or an entirely black/white screen. To avoid resolution problems, it's better to play VNs windowed not fullscreen. If you want fullscreen (or the game only wants to be played fullscreen), make sure your screen resolution doesn't exceed the VN's maximum resolution. Quote
