GLM4475 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I guess it's a little late for me to say this, but Google has changed its logo for some reasons I don't know. Maybe some of you know? What's your opinion about the change? Quote
Eclipsed Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 its part of their ongoing experiment to see how ppl react to change cuz they have some big changes to how they'll adify the universe Quote
Nosebleed Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 They recently changed the company name to Alphabet too. (mostly for shareholding reasons and other business shennanigans). The new Google logo is meant to represent all of Google's services across all devices in one single identity. Once upon a time, Google was one destination that you reached from one device: a desktop PC. These days, people interact with Google products across many different platforms, apps and devices—sometimes all in a single day. You expect Google to help you whenever and wherever you need it, whether it’s on your mobile phone, TV, watch, the dashboard in your car, and yes, even a desktop! Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens. As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk). It doesn’t simply tell you that you’re using Google, but also shows you how Google is working for you. For example, new elements like a colorful Google mic help you identify and interact with Google whether you’re talking, tapping or typing. Meanwhile, we’re bidding adieu to the little blue “g” icon and replacing it with a four-color “G” that matches the logo. PS: Why is this a thread Quote
monkeysrumble Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Everything is different and it makes me feel funny. Quote

Well, it's undeniable that Google has an enormous impact on our lives, I have no complaint about them changing their logo. I'm still curious about their four colour resemblance to Windows' logo though. Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Nice info. Well, it's undeniable that Google has an enormous impact on our lives, I have no complaint about them changing their logo. I'm still curious about their four colour resemblance to Windows' logo though. Google always had the four color logo. They originally made it those colors to piggy back off of Microsoft's brand recognition of the 4 colored panels. [Citation needed] Quote
Deep Blue Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 2013-2015 was the best one and really clean imo (2010-2013 was good too), before that it looks like a bad 3d from word and now it just looks like meh they are traying too hard to make it look like "artish" Quote
