jspstorm Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I'm just wondering why the translation project status for Ex/ME (link below) shows Sasami's route as entirely translated, edited, and proofread, and yet the latest patch contains virtually none of that translated content. I get the impression from various threads around the place that the translation project has taken place over a very long period of time, and Sasami's content has been completed for quite a while, have there really been no partial/incremental releases since they started working on the Ex/ME content? Eclipsed Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 It's taking so long because of the Law of Exponential Translation For every word that's translated, it takes 2.24 days more time to TLC, then 7.64 weeks to edit, 15.6 months to QC, and 78.1 years to create a patch MikeY91 1 Quote
OriginalRen Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Eclipsed is basically saying that it won't come out anytime soon. EX will never come out. Quote
jspstorm Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 That's a shame, I am making good progress learning japanese, but it will be quite a while before I can enjoy reading something in japanese to the same extent as in my native language. I will try contacting the translation team, and offer to make a temporary patch if they send me their translation data. I'll also offer to help with editing and proofreading. Quote
Nosebleed Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The "latest" patch was released in 2011 when none of the EX routes were translated yet, they haven't released a single update to the patch after that, even when they finished proofreading two of the EX routes. I'm pretty sure they don't want to release partial patches. As for when you should expect a patch, the year 2381 maybe? Quote
Zantax Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 That's a shame, I am making good progress learning japanese, but it will be quite a while before I can enjoy reading something in japanese to the same extent as in my native language. If you already started learning japanese anway then just grab Interactive Text Hooker and Translation Aggregator and start reading. It's not that hard as one could expect, and reading will be good practise for your learning process. Anyway, it's better to this than just wait for patch that could never come. Quote
