Nimbus Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 "According to Wataru-San, he loves himself more than anything or anyone". I think I finally found my soul-mate. Quote
oxczen Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 To summarize Shiori's letter: "I need to get my shit together first." And then, she just did it. Not much of a climax here, we don't even know how far goodbye and reunion are timewise. Oh, that makes sense. Thank Quote
Darbury Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 "According to Wataru-San, he loves himself more than anything or anyone". I think I finally found my soul-mate. A Wataru route would have been god-tier. Just saying. CeruleanGamer 1 Quote
atorq Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 So far kind of disappointing. Riho's route was just a big meh and Nagisa's felt short and rushed. And then someone had to go ruin the art for me. I'm hoping the other routes will be better. Quote
TexasDice Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 I have seen both sides of Riho's coin now and I really enjoy doing her route. Contrarily to another route in this VN, the other characters are showing up and have actual lines. Stunning! Unless the ending completely botchers it, I would recommend this one. Quote
Satsuki Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 My low motivation on starting up the next route is telling me that this VN is unrecommended. Quote
MFrost Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 ^lolicon. I liked Umi's route, felt natural...kinda, but I think the MC is a wuss. Think I'll try Riho's route *(I'm on the lawnmower part now) then go off on to the fandiscs with a Hook. But seriously, way to wimp out Soutarou. There needs to be more options with this too...maybe that's why I think MC is a wuss, wouldn't have made the same choices he did. Quote
TexasDice Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 I actually don't mind the protagonist in this. He's certainly a little whimpy and I couldn't identify myself with him for 90% of my reading time, sure. But I do prefer something resembling a human being with flaws over the usual "I can do anything!"-protagonist, which we see so often. In fact, the only time I didn't like Sotarou, was when he suddenly broke character. Let's get into Shiori and Sango spoilers once again: In Shiori's route, the protagonist was great. At first, he had no idea what he was supposed to do for the girl he loves, got frustrated and then slowly pieced together his approach and gathered the confidence he needed. In Sango's route, Sotarou also had no idea how to solve the incoming drama. But contrarily to the learning experience in Shiori's route, he suddenly just knew exactly what he had to say to solve everything. Deus ex diploma in psychology? Quote
CeruleanGamer Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Done. Onwards to the fandisc. I want my damn Yuuhi and Konami routes along with some threesomes. Also from looking at the CGs of the fandisc, there's a.... wedding scene with Umi?! Quote
nohman Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Quick question, what marks the ending of the common route? Quote

nohman Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Sotarou and Umi talk about whether or not to continue their couple act in their room, after Nagisa had them fess up. Quote
TexasDice Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 I agree. The plot is supposed to take place over a month, but it felt like the common route ended on the third day. Lots of off-screen happenings which I'd like to see, actually. Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Don't they get found out after the first week? I think this is what really causes the disassociation. Each route, common + route, is ~6k lines. When the common route which is about a week takes the same amount of lines as the route which is 3 weeks, it really comes off as chronologically odd. Quote

Abyssal Monkey Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Technically, the common route takes place over four months. It starts in early April and ends about a week or so into August. Darbury 1 Quote
Darbury Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Smartass? Me? Any idea how many lines the August week is when they are on the island? Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Smartass? Me? About 1,100 lines before they get to the island. The first week length varies based on your early choices, but it averages about another 3,100 lines before the common route ending. And then 5,000-7,500 lines per route on top of that. Quote
TexasDice Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 You can't really call it mismanagement. Visual Novels are not Zoo Tycoon, so not every day has to be treated with the same amount of attention as others. Dedicating an amount of lines shouldn't be dependent on the ingame day, but the importance of the scheduled scene. Quote
Darbury Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 That first week is so long, relatively speaking, because they want to give equal screen time to each of the girls before you make your pick — and that takes lines. Once you do choose, of course, all the other girls get eaten by sharks or something, so there's nothing but quality time for you and your sweetie. TexasDice 1 Quote

TexasDice Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 A wise man called William Shakesman once said: "Brevity is the soul of wit". Which means don't waste my time. Get to the point and keep it nice and simple. Adding any more words to the portion you mentioned would've destroyed the point of it. Quote

MFrost Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 There's no way to change the resolution from 1280:720 / 16:9, is there? Quote
TexasDice Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Riho route = good route. I really enjoyed the banter and games with the other characters in this one, even though the great whammy moment could've used a little more wham. Shiori in particular was just hilarious here. Quote
